Looks great. That's a beautiful blue too. I'd have done it the same way, always have. I've had customers ask me to "just paint the door" or "just paint the fender" and they supply the paint. I'll do it but I make it understood that I do not promise the color match will be perfect. About 9 out of 10 times I have to tint it a little myself, but they've all come out good.

Brian, you always make very important points, " don't get in a big hurry to apply the clear", it is so much easier and productive to repair base color than clear, no one could ever say you don't thoroughly remove contaminants as you definitely do, also still waiting to see that air supplied respirator, love that color of blue.
I just found your channel through a video you made a year ago. The way you walk through and explain what you’re doing in a reasonably timed… But concise way made watching so enjoyable and taught me so much. I’m glad I subscribed

I'll have to wait for warmer weather as my barn does not have heat. But, in the spring I'm going to repaint the truck. I'll need to pull the bed off, remove the tailgate and dually fenders, remove the bumpers and grille too. I have a good 60 gallon 55 year old compressor that'll work. I'll just need to buy a couple paint guns for the project. I'm looking forward to this project to make my old truck look new again. Thanks again, Blessings to you and your family.

My team will usually take the door and paint that completely on the stand and then mask up the other door and quarter to paint blend that while it’s apart. We might leave the old door on and just go straight to paint with it and mask off like we’re doing a front door and quarter. Either way it’s similar we just blend the car without the new door on it. Whats up Brian. Ive watched countless videos of yours. I had a chance to visit my local automotive paint supply shop and the price of paint is off the charts . So i looked up would have been one of the factory original choices of color for my 1951 chevy 3100. Brian need advice to proceed-- im repairing a 55 mercury- Every panel had seriously extensive rust and major dents- after 2 years, i got it near paint ready with 3 blocking down episodes to 150 paper. Wetting the surface wont work for me either.
Brian. I want to spray a few small areas with a gold metallic basecoat paint over my prepped and sanded primer. Then apply a few decals over the gold painted area. I will then apply a sealer coat over the decals and entire vehicle which obviously will keep the gold under the decal. I then want to paint the entire vehicle with a black basecoat over the decals and sealer of the entire vehicle. I then will remove the decals, then spray my clear over the entire vehicle. Is there anything you recommend while doing this or any suggestions? Any advice is appreciated. I've seen this kind of done this way with masking tape for racing stripes, but not with decals to make graphics per say. No one ever shows the prep before during or after. Does the area need scuffed. Will the paint run off the decals??? Thanks
How much time does the paint dry before the clear? If you were using Eastwood's clear coat how many cans do you think you used clearing your three panels?

I've been painting just a lil bit of over a year. A problem I keep having is paint coming out of the top of lid at the small cap . How can I fix this? Do I leave it on or take it off
What are the issues that I might ran into if I’m painting my car one panel at a time in different days? For example, I have a silver Evo 9 and I do not have enough time off to do a complete paint in a weekend and I want to work on every part every weekend. Planning to make it red.
hello. i am getting ready to do my first paint job. i want to know if the color i want to do (royal blue 1) very similar to this is a good color to try for my first time? i am also skeptical of if i am doing things right. the truck isnt to fancy so i dont need perfection but i patched some pretty big rust holes by welding and using bondo i used a palm sander with 80. 120. 150. 220. should i do finer?? i plan on buying the primer and paint from summit. i beleive i buy grease and oil remover and clean the whole surface as well as tac cloth it. once i lay the primer down will i need to sand it? and could you please tell me any more steps i may be missing. thanks
Hey I am subscribed to your channel and have watched most of your videos recently. I have painted 2 cars at my house prior to seeing your channel and was not really happy with my results. I am going to try again on my 1969 camaro. Was wondering if you could help me with the type of sealer and brand of paint to use. Thanks Greg
Hey I’ve been watching for years now , just wondering what are some videos I should watch or tips that will help me paint without error . I’m transitioning from prepper to painter . Been prepping a very long time and know a lot already but just want some more advice to step in the booth more confident than I already am 😅
Brian huge fan! I have a question that I haven’t seen you covered in any of the videos. If needed to colorsand How long should one wait before you sand and polish?
I recently switched to a shop that has a semi-downdraft booth. I'm used to spraying in a downdraft. I've gone from spaying super clean jobs to having to polish every job that comes out of the booth. As a flat rate painter in a production shop this is a bit of an issue. Do you have any tips for painting in a semi-downdraft specifically? I know dirt will happen but maybe I'm missing something
what type of paint are you using. angle the car so the overspray goes straight in to the filters. point the end that is going to be painted close to filters. tack and de- nib in between coats
@@mikemetcalfe1526 I am using cromax pro. I do feel like most of my issues are overspray. Most of the jobs I've been spraying lately I've had the booth quite full. Was told to paint starting close to the filters and work my way to the doors so that the overspray lands in wet paint. Makes sense to me but by the time I'm at the back of the booth, the stuff at the front is dry. I do tack between coats but it doesn't seem to pick up enough. Any suggestions for tack cloths? I'm using the Sontara green cloths.
@@dalyntaylor2413 there shouldn't be much over spray in the base of cromax pro because the application is done very wet. if its happening in the clear use higher temp reducer. start spraying from back of booth to front and park car on an angle (un painting side front corner close to the filter. if its dirt find out where the dirt is coming from
Why not just paint the door off and do the blends separately? It’s much faster and offers the same results with less time and materials! Also why not use the wet bed between each coat of base? I think you are a great teacher and and clearly doing great work.. I’m just wondering why
You could risk damaging finished paint on refitting the door especially when paint is not fully cured/hardened and is prone to chipping and leaving finger prints on softer area... Gaurenteed its happened in most paintshops...
@@PaintSociety correct need the metallic to flow from panel to panel to look oem fresh..... I always believe the less handling and moving parts after paint reduced risk of damage putting the project off schedule and costing time.... Time is money
You had me sold on the ws400. But I notice that you have cleared your last couple of jobs with a carbonio. Which do you like better? Ive been researching the anest iwata, and it looks like the fan pattern is very forgiving if you're not completely consistent with your overlays.

Hey I am subscribed to your channel and have watched most of your videos recently. I have painted 2 cars at my house prior to seeing your channel and was not really happy with my results. I am going to try again on my 1969 camaro. Was wondering if you could help me with the type of sealer and brand of paint to use. Thanks Greg
Wat time of wax and dresser did u use . Or brand name?
Brian, how long R U waiting between clear coat layers?
Hey I’ve been watching for years now , just wondering what are some videos I should watch or tips that will help me paint without error . I’m transitioning from prepper to painter . Been prepping a very long time and know a lot already but just want some more advice to step in the booth more confident than I already am 😅
Hit me up on ig in the dm
Don't over think it, its just paint, hahahaha
@@tommyvermaak1948 that really is how it be 😂
@@PaintSociety unfortunately I don’t have any social media but i could give you my email . Btw I just copped some merch today 🔥
What is the static neutralizer you used?
I noticed the use of an antistatic gun. Google did not help. Any suggestions? Thank you
When do you remove the tape? Right after spraying or when the paint is dry?
once dry
my boss paints the inside of the door first, puts the door on the car then paints the outside while blending the other panels.
It's ok lah...good job
Hey there, really enjoying your video. I wanted to ask why do paint from some cars fade and why does clear kote peel?
Peeling can be caused from improper techniques, bad paint, or just to much uv on the car and no wax on car
Brian huge fan! I have a question that I haven’t seen you covered in any of the videos. If needed to colorsand How long should one wait before you sand and polish?
24 hours
Thanks.
Where is your shop located? I need to repaint my c300
Everything's on backorder! LoL!
The door and quarter panel it looks different color only for this time.
Quick question, what mask/filters do you use? About to start my first paint job and want to have the right stuff 👍
You can pick up a 3M dual cartridge respirator at your local paint supplier or off Amazon for about $45.
Where r you guys located?
Hai.. Bro im siva fram indian fram telugu. I liku you your videos
Looks really good, what paint system are you using?
Sikkens
please make a video where you repaint a whole car to a different color :)
Hi I am from India Tamilnadu. That room temperature how much bro
@@dalyntaylor2413 there shouldn't be much over spray in the base of cromax pro because the application is done very wet. if its happening in the clear use higher temp reducer. start spraying from back of booth to front and park car on an angle (un painting side front corner close to the filter. if its dirt find out where the dirt is coming from
Yo what color code is that?
Very well
Why not just paint the door off and do the blends separately? It’s much faster and offers the same results with less time and materials! Also why not use the wet bed between each coat of base? I think you are a great teacher and and clearly doing great work.. I’m just wondering why
Have you watched episode 1 and 2? I speak about it in great length
You could risk damaging finished paint on refitting the door especially when paint is not fully cured/hardened and is prone to chipping and leaving finger prints on softer area... Gaurenteed its happened in most paintshops...
Yes and further more i do it for proper color match. Been burned before where you paint it off the car and it doesn’t match
Haven’t used the ws400 in years. Still a great gun though but the walcom is much easier to dial in
@@PaintSociety thanks I'll look at the walcom too
