the other day I stole a mac wallpaper off my mate's mac, but it's locked by the golden gates of tim cook, and I can't play it without it stuttering. My friend showed me it in his quicktime, but it stuttered there too. I just want mac somona horizons to play on my windows pc. IS IT THAT HARD?
the most annoying thing about all their "magic" features is that there's no way to diagnose them properly. No logs, no detailed settings, no diagnostics. AirDrop is especially bad at not working in the most inconvenient cases.
I use Universal Control and Sidecar and have a similar problem. Sometimes the iPad just disconnects and there is absolutely no explanation as to why and no way to manually initiate a connection. You just have to wait or restart the device. Similar to your airdrop issue, the lack of information and actionable options is very frustrating. I’ve submitted multiple bug reports/feature requests to Apple’s Feedback app about this but had no response.

@@pineapple5783 it didn't always work for me too. I had a Mac for work stuff and did a lot of airdrop from my work iPhone. Sometimes on big files airdrop would just stop coz my iPhone got locked. Sometimes it won't detect my MacBook. Apple claims they are really good but have used both iPhone+Mac and Android+Linux I can say everyone poops from time to time and everyone's shit stinks.
Sometimes I’ll be playing music or a TH-cam video in the background on my phone and it will randomly stop. At first I think it’s buffering, but then I look and see it’s just paused, when I didn’t do anything to pause it.
Here it happened some times too, I thought it was the Apple Watch pausing the media (weird, I know), but last week, the Apple Watch was locked and it happened, so I don’t know what could be the cause

It’s weird that AirDrop has such a lag sometimes. If you click AirDrop in the Sharesheet or Finder, you have to sit and wait for five seconds before your devices show up.
@@reduchimaki I once tried sending a 2Gb file from my MacBook to iPad. The file management for Airdrop was so poor, I sent the file multiple times but couldn't locate it on my iPad. I could see the storage is being utilised, and it kept increasing, but I never found the file. Had to download it off GDrive.

Why can I unlock my phone and my Mac with my watch, but not my iPad? It drives me insane, especially because the iPad Pro's Face ID also doesn't have Face ID with a mask, so if I wear one, then I'm screwed.
Since it’s in your thumbnail I’ll throw this one out too: The way the battery widget works is weird. It only shows peripherals and only when they’re connected to that device. But, all of my Apple devices have batteries and they’re always connected with Bluetooth/Continuity so in a sense my iPhone and iPad are kind of like peripherals to my Mac, and vice versa. It would be nice to see all of their current battery amounts in one place, but it just doesn’t do that.
Just wait a few years when it will be added as a recolutionary feature :D kidding aside, often I think these kinds if things just get added later at some point. Like arranging apps on the homescreen they way you want.
Also: 1. SideCar and Universal Control are amazing! …until the iPad dc’s with no warning, explanation, or solution. There’s no way to initiate a connection, you just have to wait or restart the device. 2. I’m not sure exactly what is causing this, but taking a phone call on my Mac literally never works. It allows me to accept the call, but then the person on the other line can’t hear me at all. I think Continuity Camera gets in the way somehow, because my iPhone always pops up the Continuity Camera splash screen. 3. Universal copy/paste is also spotty for me from time to time.
With AirPods I have another issue. One earbud refuses to charge sometimes, or one earbud thinks that it’s not inside an ear and ANC doesn’t work because of that. I don’t an issues with my M1 Pro MacBook Pro’s Bluetooth and AirDrop also works every time on my all devices
have the exact same two issues with my airpods sometimes. one will charge to 100 and the other will stay at 80 for like multiple days if i dont use them. and the ear detection thing happens too its so annoying. Both of these issues have happened on both my gen 1 and gen 2 airpod pros, so its not an individual device thing, but an set of issues that affect the product line as a whole
A recurring problem I’m having with my AirPods Pro 2’s is how the stereo audio likes to kinda… _sway_ between left and right when I’m listening to something. Must be a bug with Spatial Audio or something. It’s never ruined any listening experiences but I definitely notice whenever it happens.
@@wakywind42 Nah, I keep Spatial Audio set to “Fixed” because my phone is never directly in front of me when I’m listening to music. It even happens when they’re set to basic stereo. That’s why I assumed it was some kind of bug.
I don’t often have the issues you are talking about. In fact, AirPods autochange feature works a bit to well on my Mac ! I often get parasitic disconnections from my phone to my iPad. No, my biggest pet peave is that my iPad, for some reason, after many resets of iCloud and the iPad itself, does not want to synchronize in any way my Safari tabs, while my Mac and iPhone don’t have a single issue together, and I have absolutely no clue why !

i used to have the airpods issues but ever since i started cleaning them and the case regularly its worked like a charm and doesn't give me any issues. On the other hand i have had my fair share of problems with airdrop but for that its harder to pinpoint the issue because most of the times i am running beta software so i don't know what causes the issue, the beta or the system in general
I found a solution to the mouse issue! Apparently if you have a USB 3 hub connected to your M series Mac, it causes interference with Bluetooth and wireless dongles. Disconnect the hub and your mouse should work fine. I spent months trying to figure this one out, and in typical Apple fashion, they refuse to even acknowledge this problem exists. I stumbled across a Reddit thread talking about the issue, suggesting the USB 3 hub. I unplugged my hub and my mouse has been smooth as butter since!
any more features that suck? oh man there's so many. airpods charging issue was mentioned, but how about the thing where it won't connect to em until u restart ur bluetooth (not from quick menu, have to go to the full settings menu for that). also universal clipboard is so fucking inconsistent, when it works it's great but sometimes i'm out here fighting for my life for it. taking photos for ms word and notes app etc on mac with your iphone is so fucky too, with a single image it works flawlessly, but if u try several images at once it will fuck up no matter what. so annoying until u figure that one out. also fuck icloud, it's awesome when it works but sometimes it Does Not Fucking Work, and the automagic design of it means you're just fucked hoping it goes away. great video! also youtube asked me to edit my comment cuz they thought my comment was disrespectful lol
Using a couple of HomePods with Apple TV 4K has been a nightmare for me. Even though in my opinion, the sound is so amazing when it works, it’s a best of choppy experience random disconnections happens frequently, They have to restart the HomePods and reconnect every time. I really hope that Apple will fix this issue in the future!
its not just me. my airpods pro constantly remove themselves from find my, or need to be repaired. my iphone freezes up every so often. airdrop isn't always seamless, for some odd reasons. sometimes you need to completely restart iPhone because something under the hood went wrong and there's no other way to fix it. sometimes it fully locks up or kicks you back to the login screen. sometimes your wallpaper disappears, or Spotlight doesn't work! ios isnt perfect but it feels great when it works.
This is less a bug and more the way that AirDrop works, but it’s so annoying that Apple devices on the same account have to be unlocked and in use in order to show up on the AirDrop share sheet. Like, my iPhone, iPad, and Mac are all on my Apple ID, just auto-populate them on the sharesheet and let me select them and beam a file to them and drop a notification on that device that pops up the next time I unlock it..
And I just also think the new 10 minutes feature is just annoying. At least give us the choice to be always available. Airdrops felt like magic until your entire class has to get into their iPhone settings to be able to accept your content. It’s awkward

idk why and when it started, but when i get sms it notifies me twice: when i receive it and exactly two minutes later. it's been a lot of ios updates and i even switch my iphone since i first discovered this issue but nothing changes also i don’t understand how sharing wifi passwords works
The sharing menu or sharing function in general is awful on iOS. Sometimes it's just a few bytes of gibberish, instead of what an average user would expect (a PDF or a URL for example). Some of the proposed apps in that menu can't even take the shared item as an input.
iPad FaceID, I constantly have issues with it. Sometimes it just disables itself if I don’t use my iPad for a while, which can be common, or whenever it wants, no rhyme or reason
I've noticed a weird thing with my AirPods, when I'm on FaceTime on my phone, but I want to watch a quick video or play music in the background on my Mac, my AirPods stay connected to the phone, but on my Mac, it says they've connected and then the sound comes out of the speakers a few seconds later. The sound coming out of the speakers is what I want bc my AirPods are on transparency mode, but I kinda hate how it attempts to prioritize to Mac first, even though I have speakers that are connected to the Mac to begin with. Also yes, one of my AirPods not charging infuriates me. It doesn't happen often, but it always happens when I most want to listen to music or something.
Got a m2 iPad Pro 12.9” with Magic Keyboard cover, and sometimes the keyboard just stops working for typing. No idea why it happens, but like with many computer issues a restart fixes it.
shiiieeett, I thought my m2 studio was broken with all the bluetooth issues and disconnection, I have the same mouse as well. I'm happy to hear it's a common issue, hopefully there's a fix or update soon.
i will say one bug that really BUGS the hell of me these days. Screen and Audio Capture Permission Warning. it keeps popping up every 10 mins or so whenever i need to interact with my menubar, my dock... even after i granted the permissions multiple times in a day! all these good necessary extensions or plugin apps are required to have the right permissions. this warning bug has been there since Ventura era at least. security wise, keeping system as safe as possible is great. but the system is just too buggy to the point i almost feel like i need to make my switch back to windows. how could the best tech company on this planet keep having this level of bugs??
Throughout my life, the operating systems I currently use regularly or used to use regularly include those from Apple, Microsoft, Samsung, Nintendo, and Oculus. Frankly, there's just not a difference between the "it just works" consistency of Apple and any other brand. I've had a little more inconsistency with Windows than anything else, but I've also used far more open-source community-managed software on Windows than anything else and that's most of where my problems come from. I've had a little less of a problem with Nintendo systems not working right than anything else, but they do one thing and one thing only so that's not really surprising either. Basically, the more complex a system is/the more it relies on third parties, the more it'll mess up. Brand doesn't matter. Apple's great, most of the time - and so is every other brand* *that I've tried
I have a macbook air M2 and i had it for MONTHS now and i like it. But the more i use it the more the fingerprint scanner will not work, to the point it doesnt work at all. Even the computer was slow as hell, YT videos not loading to the point that it says it cant load, trying to launch OBS and then the framerate goes from 60ish to 3 to 7. I reset EVERYTHING, so i putt back in my apple ID and everything and now its fast and working again, even the fingerprint scanner. Its strange, i dont know if its my memory thats doing that (since i accidentally got 8gb) or what applications i have but i dont know.
Airdrop through NFC literally never worked for me. Not a single time. It only shares my contact info. At this point I am literally considering switching to android, especially with my political situation in my country while literally almost everything does not work anymore (Spotify, games, subscriptions, yt premium, etc…). but at least I don’t see TH-cam ads lol

Shazam music recognition seems to be worse on Mac. It'll give me four different songs for one sample. Not sure if other folks are having this issue, if it's just the songs I choose to have it identify, or if it is a "Mac" problem, but man does it suck.
Every one of them happened. Especially airpods and airdrop with latest versions of the os. So airpods connected to mac, i get a cal from iphone, i accept call from mac and damn, it bugs out it looks connected to iphone call is answered on mac but no sound from anywhere then mac drops call, then airpods drop connection on iphone you left with your iphone after 30 secs
Yeah Automatic Switching is only an issue when a Mac is in the picture Also, remember how you had to click “Connect” every time when it was first released? When they removed that, that was my favorite feature from last year haha
Oh I fucking looove my AirPods switching between my devices. It used to work, perfectly. Now, it just doesn’t. Not that it sometimes switches and other it doesn’t. It just never switches, idk what happened I did nothing and I can’t seem to get my AirPods connected to all my devices. When it’s on my iPad, I have to manually connect them to the iPhone, then it disconnects from the iPad (like if I play music from the iPad it plays from the iPad speakers, AirPods don’t exist no more for the iPad)
That Bluetooth thing on Macs has plagued me on both Intel and M series machines. It doesn't really matter if it's old or new. It WILL and MUST let you down

I personally despise my sister for being such an Apple sheep. She first gave me her old Windows laptop because she got a shiny new M1 Mac, now she took it back and was upset at me for installing Linux on her old laptop, which was mine. All because Apple just felt like not allowing Boot Camp to be a thing anymore. I actually am currently writing this from a 2010 MacBook running Windows 7. When's the last time you saw that? (I'm pretty sure that if Apple kept using Intel, my sister would've still flat-out refused to install Windows to her shiny Mac because she's an ass. Long live Asahi Linux)
So "it just works" us truely marketing? It does gel with our experience at work. The OS, software and network issues with MacOS (M series) have so many more issues while doing less demanding work and not running any machinery either. I'm a pro at reading Apple community forums now but 🤣🤦♂️

How about updates on AirPods? There is no way to force an update or do any at all without an Apple device. A colleague uses them with an android phone and once in a while I have to pair them with my iPhone, hope it updates at some point, kick them out of my iCloud account and then he has to re-pair them. Annoying

Apple usually just tell you to update the device or force restart it. Nothing else.

Airpods slip on the ear and the wearing sensors are fooled into thinking you got your airpod out, therefore pausing

Ughhhh this! Handoff either works flawlessly or sucks so hard. There is no in between.
It works flawlessly for me, it’s a 15% chance of failure. From my experience
for me it’s 100%, literally never failed

Unless you set up face id with a mask on your iPhone and your iPhone has to be unlocked and your ipad pro will still face unlock

Been using an M1 MacBook Air and bluetooth has always worked, headphones, earphones, keyboard, mice, always worked.
i used to have the airpods issues but ever since i started cleaning them and the case regularly its worked like a charm and doesn't give me any issues.
On the other hand i have had my fair share of problems with airdrop but for that its harder to pinpoint the issue because most of the times i am running beta software so i don't know what causes the issue, the beta or the system in general
I found a solution to the mouse issue!
Apparently if you have a USB 3 hub connected to your M series Mac, it causes interference with Bluetooth and wireless dongles. Disconnect the hub and your mouse should work fine.
I spent months trying to figure this one out, and in typical Apple fashion, they refuse to even acknowledge this problem exists. I stumbled across a Reddit thread talking about the issue, suggesting the USB 3 hub.
I unplugged my hub and my mouse has been smooth as butter since!

any more features that suck? oh man there's so many. airpods charging issue was mentioned, but how about the thing where it won't connect to em until u restart ur bluetooth (not from quick menu, have to go to the full settings menu for that). also universal clipboard is so fucking inconsistent, when it works it's great but sometimes i'm out here fighting for my life for it. taking photos for ms word and notes app etc on mac with your iphone is so fucky too, with a single image it works flawlessly, but if u try several images at once it will fuck up no matter what. so annoying until u figure that one out. also fuck icloud, it's awesome when it works but sometimes it Does Not Fucking Work, and the automagic design of it means you're just fucked hoping it goes away.

Using a couple of HomePods with Apple TV 4K has been a nightmare for me. Even though in my opinion, the sound is so amazing when it works, it’s a best of choppy experience random disconnections happens frequently, They have to restart the HomePods and reconnect every time. I really hope that Apple will fix this issue in the future!
its not just me. my airpods pro constantly remove themselves from find my, or need to be repaired. my iphone freezes up every so often. airdrop isn't always seamless, for some odd reasons. sometimes you need to completely restart iPhone because something under the hood went wrong and there's no other way to fix it. sometimes it fully locks up or kicks you back to the login screen. sometimes your wallpaper disappears, or Spotlight doesn't work!
ios isnt perfect but it feels great when it works.
This is less a bug and more the way that AirDrop works, but it’s so annoying that Apple devices on the same account have to be unlocked and in use in order to show up on the AirDrop share sheet. Like, my iPhone, iPad, and Mac are all on my Apple ID, just auto-populate them on the sharesheet and let me select them and beam a file to them and drop a notification on that device that pops up the next time I unlock it..
And I just also think the new 10 minutes feature is just annoying. At least give us the choice to be always available. Airdrops felt like magic until your entire class has to get into their iPhone settings to be able to accept your content. It’s awkward

idk why and when it started, but when i get sms it notifies me twice: when i receive it and exactly two minutes later. it's been a lot of ios updates and i even switch my iphone since i first discovered this issue but nothing changes
also i don’t understand how sharing wifi passwords works

The sharing menu or sharing function in general is awful on iOS. Sometimes it's just a few bytes of gibberish, instead of what an average user would expect (a PDF or a URL for example). Some of the proposed apps in that menu can't even take the shared item as an input.
1.) never had issues with AirPods transferring between devices, even Macs, I’ve only had the M1 MacBook Pro and M3 Max MBP and no issues so far
iPad FaceID, I constantly have issues with it. Sometimes it just disables itself if I don’t use my iPad for a while, which can be common, or whenever it wants, no rhyme or reason

I've noticed a weird thing with my AirPods, when I'm on FaceTime on my phone, but I want to watch a quick video or play music in the background on my Mac, my AirPods stay connected to the phone, but on my Mac, it says they've connected and then the sound comes out of the speakers a few seconds later. The sound coming out of the speakers is what I want bc my AirPods are on transparency mode, but I kinda hate how it attempts to prioritize to Mac first, even though I have speakers that are connected to the Mac to begin with.
Also yes, one of my AirPods not charging infuriates me. It doesn't happen often, but it always happens when I most want to listen to music or something.
Got a m2 iPad Pro 12.9” with Magic Keyboard cover, and sometimes the keyboard just stops working for typing. No idea why it happens, but like with many computer issues a restart fixes it.
shiiieeett, I thought my m2 studio was broken with all the bluetooth issues and disconnection, I have the same mouse as well. I'm happy to hear it's a common issue, hopefully there's a fix or update soon.

i will say one bug that really BUGS the hell of me these days.
Screen and Audio Capture Permission Warning. it keeps popping up every 10 mins or so whenever i need to interact with my menubar, my dock... even after i granted the permissions multiple times in a day! all these good necessary extensions or plugin apps are required to have the right permissions. this warning bug has been there since Ventura era at least.
security wise, keeping system as safe as possible is great. but the system is just too buggy to the point i almost feel like i need to make my switch back to windows.
how could the best tech company on this planet keep having this level of bugs??
I had 0 problems with the 1st gen AirPods for 4 years. I have the Pro 2nd gen and after 6 months the charging problem occured more than once.
Throughout my life, the operating systems I currently use regularly or used to use regularly include those from Apple, Microsoft, Samsung, Nintendo, and Oculus.
Frankly, there's just not a difference between the "it just works" consistency of Apple and any other brand. I've had a little more inconsistency with Windows than anything else, but I've also used far more open-source community-managed software on Windows than anything else and that's most of where my problems come from. I've had a little less of a problem with Nintendo systems not working right than anything else, but they do one thing and one thing only so that's not really surprising either.
Basically, the more complex a system is/the more it relies on third parties, the more it'll mess up. Brand doesn't matter. Apple's great, most of the time - and so is every other brand*

I have a macbook air M2 and i had it for MONTHS now and i like it. But the more i use it the more the fingerprint scanner will not work, to the point it doesnt work at all. Even the computer was slow as hell, YT videos not loading to the point that it says it cant load, trying to launch OBS and then the framerate goes from 60ish to 3 to 7.
I reset EVERYTHING, so i putt back in my apple ID and everything and now its fast and working again, even the fingerprint scanner. Its strange, i dont know if its my memory thats doing that (since i accidentally got 8gb) or what applications i have but i dont know.
Airdrop through NFC literally never worked for me. Not a single time. It only shares my contact info. At this point I am literally considering switching to android, especially with my political situation in my country while literally almost everything does not work anymore (Spotify, games, subscriptions, yt premium, etc…). but at least I don’t see TH-cam ads lol

Shazam music recognition seems to be worse on Mac.

Not sure if other folks are having this issue, if it's just the songs I choose to have it identify, or if it is a "Mac" problem, but man does it suck.

Every one of them happened. Especially airpods and airdrop with latest versions of the os. So airpods connected to mac, i get a cal from iphone, i accept call from mac and damn, it bugs out it looks connected to iphone call is answered on mac but no sound from anywhere then mac drops call, then airpods drop connection on iphone you left with your iphone after 30 secs

They made airdrop worse. Prior to their update, it worked every time.

Oh I fucking looove my AirPods switching between my devices. It used to work, perfectly. Now, it just doesn’t. Not that it sometimes switches and other it doesn’t. It just never switches, idk what happened I did nothing and I can’t seem to get my AirPods connected to all my devices. When it’s on my iPad, I have to manually connect them to the iPhone, then it disconnects from the iPad (like if I play music from the iPad it plays from the iPad speakers, AirPods don’t exist no more for the iPad)
That Bluetooth thing on Macs has plagued me on both Intel and M series machines. It doesn't really matter if it's old or new. It WILL and MUST let you down
I have had an issue with the AirPods not connecting with my phone like it recognises that they are active but it doesn't want to switch to them but as soon as I restart my device it magically connects

I personally despise my sister for being such an Apple sheep. She first gave me her old Windows laptop because she got a shiny new M1 Mac, now she took it back and was upset at me for installing Linux on her old laptop, which was mine. All because Apple just felt like not allowing Boot Camp to be a thing anymore. I actually am currently writing this from a 2010 MacBook running Windows 7. When's the last time you saw that?
(I'm pretty sure that if Apple kept using Intel, my sister would've still flat-out refused to install Windows to her shiny Mac because she's an ass. Long live Asahi Linux)
So "it just works" us truely marketing? It does gel with our experience at work. The OS, software and network issues with MacOS (M series) have so many more issues while doing less demanding work and not running any machinery either. I'm a pro at reading Apple community forums now but 🤣🤦♂️
I use the same mouse and did not have that problem once. Maybe it's a problem with your mac.
For like two years now, my Apple ID settings have just… disappeared from my settings page. Apple doesn’t know what’s wrong.
My right AirPod all of a sudden stopped charging. So sometimes I'll grab one and it will be dead. I agree Apple is pretty cool, but sometimes its so annoying

How about updates on AirPods? There is no way to force an update or do any at all without an Apple device. A colleague uses them with an android phone and once in a while I have to pair them with my iPhone, hope it updates at some point, kick them out of my iCloud account and then he has to re-pair them. Annoying
started using earpods after my airpods sucked. sometimes airpods are just garbage.

I thought of switching to an iPhone as I'm kinda bored with my 3rd Galaxy in a row (I used to change maker every phone change but as there are no other brands making good enough Android phones I got stuck with smasnug) but after witnessing how poorly my M1 Mac works with my iPad, I just gave up
