    Having spoken to Brandon at the beginning of 2021 I went and bought the mirabox. It doesn't miss a beat, I only recently upgraded to the AVerMedia live gamer ultra as I wanted to passthrough 120hz on my Xbox. So if you just getting into content creating and don't want to splash the cash you can't go wrong with the mirabox for a starter.

    Edit: I mean I care about my pass-through main screen quality at 4k60 very hdr...So I guess I just need record 1080p60 and pass-through 4k60

    nice video, For MiraBox, I wanted to ask you if there was latency or input lag on the monitor you are playing on, I don't care if there is a bit of latency in the streaming on Obs(pc monitor), you can play the game in the same way you would play if you only connected the PlayStation to monitor with HDMI cable?

    Do any capture cards actually support zero latency video when playing through the computer and not using the pass through? I often prefer to have all my monitors connected to my PC, and I don't really want to switch around my monitors cords. I have tried a capture card that outputs video and audio to OBS but the video always has latency and I was wondering if its possible to view your game in OBS without any video latency, or if any capture card offers a program that lets you create a window that shows your console video and audio without latency? Not interested in recording for youtube or streaming to twitch, though I am interested in streaming to my friends in discord.

    Hey man, love the channel, I am having a problem with my setup, and maybe you can help. I bought a wired headset, the chat link, and the Elgato HD60 S+. I have audio coming from the headset perfectly fine but when I record it comes out choppy and there is absolutely no background noise to it. I tried the HD 60 X and had the same problem and I even tried adding them as their own audio input. The problem is on all video recording software like OBS, Streamlabs, Elgatos 4K capture. But when I use, chrome camera it sounds fine making me think it is a hardware problem. Can you help?

    So I have a 21:9 monitor and want to passthrough video form my console to a window on my pc. I don't want to capture, I just want something that I can passthrough video at 1440p (from a One X) to a window so I can multitask with other windows for walkthroughs or game sites. Will the Vivitar do that?

    • @DarkenedCyrus
      @DarkenedCyrus  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you want 0 latency, I'd grab the new elgato HD60X that is actually on sale right now. You can u se 4k Capture Utility from them to monitor the feed from a window. Definitely more expensive, but if you want to monitor 1440p, that's the best way and to get high refresh as well. amzn.to/3EBmG2K

    Cyrus, I got the red Mirabox, and I don't think it is saving 60fps videos. The video is a 60fps video, but every other frame is duplicated. Would I be doing something wrong? To check, I'm using VLC, and pressing E to go frame by frame on video I record. Could I get a sample of video recorded from yours?

    • @100Bucks

      You can do upscale tricks. If you have weak PC. Record in 720p 30 or 60fps. Now upscale the video Hybrid to 4k 60fps and walk away from the PC since you can't use it while it's rendering. Now compress the 4k60fps video with handbrake to shrink that huge file to easily upload it on TH-cam. You don't need the best capture card. Just do whatever it takes to get the video to 4k.

    With regards to capturing camera footage at 4K 30FPS, can you recommend which capture card, be it USB or PCI express with a low latency when it comes to syncing with a external mic.
    I've been using the Elgato HD60X and when recording into OBS with a camera at 4K 30 FPS and my external mics, be it USB mic or from the audio interface has a really bad delay from the elgato capture card so its always off sync.

    • @DarkenedCyrus
      @DarkenedCyrus  ปีที่แล้ว

      I also notice this sometimes even with the Cam Link 4k and my 4k60 Pro. I think it’s just the encoding and digitizing of that 4k footage.
      My Cam Link Pro has worked great, but it isn’t 0 latency.
      What I’ve personally done (if I know I’m not going to adjust the content later in post), is I run a line out from my interface to the microphone port on my camera. This ensures I have matched audio and video from the go. Talk about having the SM7B go straight into my little ZV E10 as my main A cam for PC capture.
      Used this on my FX30 as well

    • @ionrage
      @ionrage ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DarkenedCyrus So its not just my unit I feel is like this, I think very mild latency can be worked with but a huge amount of it is something else.
      Running the mic into the camera is also an option to which I've looked into but the audio in from the HD60X is 16 bit audio and that kinda doesn't cut it where OBS does 24 bit now, would you know if the PCI capture card solutions have 24 bit?

    • @DarkenedCyrus
      @DarkenedCyrus  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not off the top of my head. If you are needing that kind of flexibility, I’d just expect that you will be lining up your audio in post.
      That being said, you can adjust for video and audio latency in OBS. I’ve had to do this before. Just do some test recordings with you clapping and check it frame by frame to get the right latency for your hardware.
      There can’t be a set number as it all depends on your specific hardware and setup

    • @ionrage
      @ionrage ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DarkenedCyrus Yeah lining up audio is what I do or just record into the camera directly with an interface out which works very nicely.
      The purpose was essentially to get a system to record directly into the computer bypassing the need to put out and in an SD card, not to mention longer record sessions and have a much more simplified work flow to use.
      Sadly seems the hardware for this kinda sync latency isn't there yet.

    • @DarkenedCyrus
      @DarkenedCyrus  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well, I regularly do what you are describing. The only time I use SD cards is when I’m doing B cams and moving A shots.
      Adjusting for latency in OBS is a game changer. It takes a little bit to do, but it’s worth it. To add latency to video, just right click the video capture device and add a video filter at the top. It’s called Async. For audio delay, right click the audio mixer and choose advanced audio properties. There will be a delay box beside each source. Just add in MS how much you want to do. I start with 100 and adjust.

      @ItsJrTheFur ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Right, I have the exact one from Walmart, paid 20 dollars for it, and it does 1080p at 30fps and 720p60, I’ve tried it with a PS4, Wii U, Wii with HDMI adaptor, and a retron (NES clone with HDMI) and every input felt slow/laggy at 1080p and feels fine at 720, that is bc the Walmart card uses only USB 2.0, ignore that blue plastic bit that is supposed to indicate USB version, look at the pins, it’s missing the required pins for 3.0, and I’ve even taken mine apart and there is no sign on 3.0 support on the board

    • @DarkenedCyrus
      @DarkenedCyrus  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s crazy. No joke, it’s still on my capture rig grabbing 4K 60

    • @ItsJrTheFur
      @ItsJrTheFur ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DarkenedCyrus it may have a 4k input, but it only outputs at 1080p max, so you are only getting a 1080p signal into OBS or whatever capture software you use, and if you use the Walmart cam link for streaming games there is a bit of input lag, but not much, and it also makes text harder to see when the device that is connected to the camlink is set to 4k, while the thing is only outputting 1080p

    • @DarkenedCyrus
      @DarkenedCyrus  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can capture 4K, no issue. Seriously, I’m staring at it in my OBS right now. Also, inout lag is on any capture card. Some suffer more than others, but you can’t have a 0 lag experience. This includes Elgato.
