Arnold has an underwhelming physique in 1980. His chest and biceps were sharp but everything else was subpar. His legs in particular were downright pathetic! Everyone else in the top seven looked better than he did on that day, it was a robbery without question. Beyond that was the fact that Arnold flat out refused to do all the required compulsory poses. For that alone he should have been disqualified.

I heard that in 1972, I saw they intentionally set the stage with the darker background so that Sergio's skin color could blend in since Arnold was pale
Actually in 1972 Sergio was only allowed on stage as a guest poser, because Ben Weider barred him from competing due to the fact that Sergio competed in another organisation that year! Also, that clip with Frank Zane commenting on Arnold being disqualified, pertains to the 1980 Mr Olympia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The judge's removal happned in the 72-74 period, I included it to illustrate how Arnold was like the emperor's child on the stage, able to do whatever he wanted. Also, Sergio was banned in 71 not 72
@@StrongerThanTheWorld Over all completeness? Yes Dorian had a torn biceps so he loses the front double bicep to everyone else but all the rest of the poses he wins full stop. Shawn Ray would of been an amazing classic competitor!
Every one of those could have been a mistake except master did not be Dorian. I was there and it was a total disappointment once nassar turn to the back. At one point he was the biggest most muscular guy from the front and okay from the side but was terrible from the back his entire career. The other one was Mike mentzer bro he wasn't even close and he's a jackass and everybody hates him
Google the ifbb bodybuilding rules and guidelines. It discusses exactly what they're supposed to be looking for. It's not a sport it's a beauty contest. However, they do have all of the guidelines and what percentage that plays in the judging. Unfortunately, they don't go by their own standards and because of that none of us know what the f*** they're looking for. If nasser's back and glutes and hamstrings were better and harder he could have won three Olympians but he had no back. The bottom line is that all of the Superstar Olympia champions for never as Good as they were early in their winning.
I saw jay do a guest posing in 99 and was completely underwhelmed! He was blubbery and sooth as butter and completely winded after about a minute or less of posing,, gasping for air. I was in disbelief when he"won" against Ronnie in 2001!
Disagree with most of these tbh, your also using alot of today's criteria against the past.. remember good or not alot of the past winners won because it was the era of bigger was better, yes jay looked better but Ronnie was bigger just plain outsized jay from the rear..yes Nasser looked better but I understand why Dorian was given the nod, yes understand Mike arguably looked better but understand why Arnold was given the nod same for Phil and most of these other guys.. yes Phil had distension but was still too good elsewhere..it's easier to say there were alterior motives or easier to accept as an athlete when one doesn't win but sometimes 💩 just doesn't go to plan...
I appreciate your perspective, but If bigger was better back in the old criteria, then how was Frank Zane winning? How could Markus Rhul, Kevin Levrone, and all the mass monsters never win? In 1996, Dillet was way bigger than Dorian, even Flex Wheeler matched him in size. if it was about the back, why didn't Jean Pierre Fux win or at least place higher in 1997? The sport is subjective, that's why there should be real rules that everyone knows, just like in any other sport.
@StrongerThanTheWorld because it's wasn't always so, don't be so literal buddy. There's bbing criteria/ mandatory poses and posing.. Nasser didn't look great from the rear and still wasn't as conditioned as Yates.. likewise with Kevin and Paul although Kevin wasn't ever considered a mass monster. Ruhl did get some high placing's but his aesthetics weren't there..Jean always carried water. It's the sum of not just one thing, if it were up to me Cedric would have and Samson would be Mr O winners but I understand why they're not..again there's the right criteria, yes the desired 'look' has shifted over the years for better or worse but has generally always stayed within its criteria. I hear what your saying and for the most part agree with you/ understand your point of view but bar one or two think despite my own opinions have got it right

Hey, i appreciate your comment, regarding Ronnie's biceps tear, it's a well-documented fact in his biography book, As for Jay, while he did take legal action, it's important to clarify that i was talking about the events that happned at that exact time, Additionally, you're correct about the judge's removal not being in 1972 olympia, but it wasn't in 1980 either.. it happned in the 72-74 period, I included it to illustrate how Arnold was like the emperor's child on the stage, able to do whatever he wanted.
