I’ve had a lot of success just recording my talking head videos in Zoom. I grab a cup of coffee, hit record, and just talk about one topic, like I would to my students. They’re typically between 5-7 minutes max, and I don’t even edit out “recording in progress,” etc. I have no idea why the raw upload works for my viewers, but it does, so I’m not going to mess with it. I really appreciate you, Kevin. I almost always get an idea for a new video topic from something you say in your videos.

Would you believe I figured out some of this yesterday....wow I'm new to editing, and it took me hours yesterday. So I learned that I need to edit the video first, take out what I need to, and, upon completion, then add sound effects and graphics. Stopping to glance at the bullet points is key. Doing that instead of reading from the script like I do makes me feel unattached to my content and unnatural (even though I would have spent time preparing it). I drag and join my sentences so the beginning of some sentences were cut off in the editing process, so (taking pauses in between to gather your thoughts, and review your next point is a great idea. You can join sentences flawlessly that way). Scripting doesn't work for me because once it's there, I read everything, and it doesn't feel or sound natural to me. I don't like it at all. From next week, I'm going to give bullet points a try out, the only thing is that I talk so dam much, and eventually, it becomes a ramble. Hi from Townsville, Queensland, Australia. My name is Ken, and I need some help or advice if that is ok. I am 51 (52 on the 28th of this month) and I have just been diagnosed with younger onset mixed dementia due to Alzheimer's disease and lewy body dementia and I get about 20 minutes of memory and then it resets . So I thought that I would start a TH-cam channel for all my memories but I also have the idea of having a daily video about living with this disease. I also live with chronic pain from having my spine fused from saving my dog. I was wondering if you know much about doing a podcast. Because I have been on a disability pension for almost 20 years I have zero money to start with, but none of what I am doing is about money it's about me being able to share my experiences both good and bad experiences and I thought that if I record what this disease is doing to me than maybe I can help others. ....

If I have stop motion in my videos am I hurting my reach? You might hear this a lot but I’m questioning my subs and views beyond titles, thumbnails, consistency etc. I do sports cards pack openings and like to set the scene in stop motion. I generally get amazing over the top feedback when I do get feedback. I’m already in the “just keep going” rhythm, I just need to know if I’m missing something.
Personally I don't see how it would hurt unless it takes the video content in a different direction that makes the viewer do too much work. Sounds unlikely. Look at your retention graphs on those videos and you'll see what viewers do when that happens. Be careful not to overreact to a single video but if you see a trend that might be something to think about.
@ I’m wondering what things beyond certain explicit content might speed bump a channel and perhaps be restricted in certain areas? At this point I’m looking for confirmation when it comes to stop motion usage because of the time commitment to create it.
