  • This is a video series showing how to build a v0.2. This is a Siboor kit that comes with CNC and 3d printed parts to eliminate the need to print these parts yourself. The series will conclude with thoughts on the quality and build of this kit and includes tips along the way.

    Thanks for not having music in the background. It's so much better to listen to the instructions without the distraction. If I'm building something myself, then 70s and 80s rock is on full blast 😊.

      Have to disagree here. Not having music thought the whole video felt a little bit weird for me. My recommendation would be to use a low volume background music when there's no commentary, as a way to prevent awkward prolonged silent scenes

      @@kastatd I disagree because you can set your own music in the background. But watching and pausing multiple times will also interrupt the music and make it not a very nice experience.

    Nooo.. You can't do videos on the V0.2, I have been eyeing it off for the last month and now I have your awesome instruction to follow along for when I pull the trigger. :) Great work.

      @@KapmansBasementWorkshop I have been looking at the LDO and Siboor kits, I like the Siboor because of the CNC parts, my V2.4 was a formbot and I am not happy with it; so many disappointments in motors and other parts. My plan is to build a V0.2 and tune it to an inch of its life, then do a full teardown of the V2 and replace all the crap parts with better ones and do a rebuild.

    Strongly recommend to use no-drop-nuts when building a V0.

    • @KapmansBasementWorkshop
      @KapmansBasementWorkshop  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I tried, but most seem to have made for LDO style extrusion. I started to design my own, but it seemed the nuts fit well in these, so I went ahead without no-drop-nuts. If you know of some good ones that are not LDO specific, please post a link!

      @@KapmansBasementWorkshop TH-cam is hiding my replies when I put a link but I use Zen3D 1515 T-nuts for Formbot and regular Makerbeam extrusions. Maybe Siboor is compatible with those too.

  • @UloPe

    Nicely presented, thanks!
    Maybe some general tips:
    When using calipers to measure depth it’s much easier and more precise to use the “prong” on the end instead of monkeying with the internal measurement points. Just lock the calipers to the correct depth and then push the rail with the prong until the end of the caliper butts up agains the end of the extrusion.
    And as for the 90° angles, some small spring loaded clamps might have been helpful.

  • @martial4matters
    @martial4matters 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    One of my linear rail fastener bars is a bit crooked and the rail wont center. so I'll draw up some drop nuts. If I'm not mistaken the extrusions are makerbeam xl. Very weird slot profile but i found a technical measurement.

    • @KapmansBasementWorkshop
      @KapmansBasementWorkshop  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So far, the cnc parts are nice for ease of building and aesthetics. But I have hope they will also translate into a stringer and stiffer frame. I should have the answer soon and report back....Thank you!

    Hi/ I''m curious since I have followed your voron videos and you already have a Voron. Why you decided on teh Siboor intead of a Formbot kit?

    • @KapmansBasementWorkshop
      @KapmansBasementWorkshop  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Probably the top reason is that this kit comes with CNC Aluminum parts (they also have a non-cnc kit). Only the print head contains 3d printed parts. So I'm wondering what impact those parts have on the build as well as the finished 3d printer. That said, so far it seems like a high quality kit. All the parts are nicely finished. So far, no missing parts. All the extrusion seems to be very accurately cut and anodized. I've probably got another 4 videos to make here as I build this, but I will create a video with final thoughts on this experience.

    why the Voron 0.2?

    • @KapmansBasementWorkshop
      @KapmansBasementWorkshop  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I wanted a second small and fast printer. This fit the bill. A large percentage of my prints fit on the Voron 0.2 bed. I also had a fascination with 1515 extrusion. I am now cured of that fascination!
