Well you can do most of the work yourself. The great thing about the GS/GSA is they are very easy to work on. The engine oil is very easy to change and replace the oil filter with a KTN one. Rear drive oil change is very easy to. Replace the air filter with a quality KTN reusable filter to increase performance and just have to clean it every 6-12k. I also check the valves but let them adjust if nec. Break flush is easy too. No need to pay the insane dealer fees / DIY!
@@MiamiJato I believe the 12 is the same as the 24k service. Check the description I wrote in this video: th-cam.com/video/49Iu-y-9CW4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=mdstSPl48M4p7JUv
If you are inclined to do the maintenance yourself, you'll save a ton of money. There's a fellow TH-camr with excellent videos, Boxflyer. Changing the oil, oil filter, air filter and lubing the final drive is straight forward...I don't recall you mentioning they doing that. As far as those gaskets, I never changed them on my 09 RT and never had leaking issues, and I rode that bike for 60k miles before selling it...They are robust! Ive done maintenance on my '19 RT and same thing never a leak.... Nowadays with Google and YT and your desire to do the work, you will save thousands of dollars...I have never found a dealer, and I include the good ones, that will work on my bike as careful and meticulously as the owner of the bike... I appreciate you sharing your experience... By the way, you did not list the brand and model of your new hand guards.. They look great.
For the parts/labor done that is about $850 too high in price. They didn't check the neck bearing/cantilever adjustment, spokes, clutch cable clean/lube, general fastener torque, etc...
Dang it ! Soon i will be there too. . Well on the 6k service. Auch ! Expensive toy expensive mechanic,it’s a fact . About the robbery of the 3 cases . Did i get it? Yes , do i have was grouchy for the price? Hell yes .
Dealership said I’d loose my warranty if I worked on the bike myself… I said I’ll take my chances when you ride around 16,000 miles a year that’s nearly 3 services… those thieving bastards.
Check the internet…a “do your own work” law just passed, plus you can save invoices…pretty sure FTC law says the if it’s required to maintain your warranty, it’s free

Outstanding points, thanks for adding! I've migrated to doing more of my own maintenance, valve checks are still for the dealership.
It kinda feels u been ripped off bad :S This is A LOT for a service and a set of handguards.

If I recall 6k wasn't bad, like 300 or so (maybe less).
