I think it's great that more people are homeschooling. Public schools have been going down hill for years. My oldest son is 46 and he and his wife have homeschooled there three children. His oldest son is in his first year of college.

As a retired elementary teacher I am greatly impressed. You have it all together. I think homeschooling is a wonderful way to go if a parent puts lots of time and effort into it. I congratulate you on what you’ve accomplished!

Thanks for sharing. Homestead women I feel have so much knowledge. Canning in the background organized people humble. Homeschooling. I never heard of homestead until I got access to TH-cam and now I compare myself so much to them. How much I wish I lived that way

So happy to have found your channel. We also do not follow grades, it works well for us but is funny sometimes when we tell that to people inquiring about homeschool, it's so foreign to them that we teach each child at their own pace. What a blessing to have this opportunity!

This is great! I love seeing how and with what others homeschool. I am also interested in how you budget for these things. Thanks so much!

Just stumbled across your page and first year homeschooling for my kindergartener. I love that you do story of the world as just a read aloud too! I decided beginning of our school year to do that since I didn’t want us to be so worksheet based. At the time it seemed not the norm from my covid homeschool groups but my son and even my 2 year old love the stories. Thank you for sharing this.

My oldest is 4 so idk why I’m here. ;) When your kids get to high school, Apologia science is an amazing resource for student-led, God-focused sciences that do a wonderful job at providing a solid base for science while explaining everything from a creation perspective. I had these in high school and have such an awe of how God created every aspect of the world so majestically. It can prep your kids to be competent at college-level course or, if they choose not to go to college, provide a strong base that’ll carry them well. Also, teaching textbooks was my favorite math in high school. :)

We are now using Saxon to...for 5/4 and up. We are doing it Robinson curriculum style...self graded. Our House here on youtube explains a very independent method...and it has worked excellent here the past 6 months.

Praise the Lord that you homeschool Jessica, because it is tragic what the secular society is teaching children. Asking them how they identify. I realize why, as a woman of faith. The only thing to do is pray and try to lead other's to Christ!!

Thanks for sharing. We focus and the same three main subjects as you do. I think for the younger grades it is plenty as I want them to get a strong solid base for their education. As my children get older I require more of them but they get a say in what they would like to learn since they learn more from things they have interest in.

I have a question how do I even start homeschooling. I have a 6 and 7 year old right now there doing school online but my son hates it and I don't know how to encourage him. How did you choose a curriculum and where do you get it from??? I really want to homeschool my last 3 kids .

I highly recommend Masterbooks. Go on their website and you can buy a bundle for your kids grade level. There are placement tests to see where your child is at and what level you need to place him/her. We have used Masterbooks for 3 years and love it... 3 boys here 😀

I would also consider taking a month off from all things school related. Let your little man decompress from his online learning experience. Go for walks, read books, play legos together, sketch nature do some mommy & me cooking,& some hands on science experiments etc. just chill out with them for a month or so. That will give you time to explore curriculum options with out feeling like you have to jump right in and begin teaching. HOWEVER looking at options can get very overwhelming pretty quick. Stick to basics when you choose. Reading Writing and
Arithmetic . If you and your family decide to HS long term you can add the other subjects later on down the road. Happy Schooling!! ( By reading, I mean go to the library check out a ton of books on topics that interest him and read them together) I don't mean doing a formal reading program at first again, you can add that later 🙃
