Gene's intensity about everything is familiar. And his deep intense adoration for Gilda is beautiful. And she is so light and funny and sweet and smart and earnest. I don't remember this interviewer at all. He LOVES these two people. Wow.
What's funny is that Gilda was the one who was CRAZY about Gene...she pursued him, and pretty much begged him to marry her. (Her words, from her autobiography)
He loved his second wife more he tells in an interview how mean Gilda was to him, she would yell at him but be nice to everyone else. If you type gene wilder on gilda on TH-cam you can find the interview. He loved her just a different way than his second wife, who he called his true love.
"Anyone, on welfare even, could go and see that movie. Anyone couldn't (afford to) see the Broadway play." And that's why I love this man. It was truly about the love of the craft, not money for him.
Such talent, joined in marriage, and yet their own individuality shines. Yes, Gene’s eyes are bright and beautiful! Gilda is so adorable, herself in every way , lovely! Miss seeing them both. Together forever 🕊🦋🕊🦋🕊
Gilda was very cute and gene was very supportive. He was holding her hands. How much more does one have to show love and support? I have never seen a couple like this. Rip to both.
❤you can see how much in love they are ...esp Gene hes gone its so cute 😊...Gilda is so full of life it was sad she died before him.I read her book it was a great read...the one on cancer 😢
It was interesting to hear two comic legends discuss certain aspects of their decisions regarding their lives and careers in a relaxed and honest manner ❤😂😢😊👍
It's a shame that Hanky Panky wasn't a big bit. It was an odd creature, somewhat a comedy, but more a tense conspiracy thriller with some silliness sprinkled in. But it was a great movie. For that matter, it's a damn shame that Haunted Honeymoon wasn't a big hit. Seriously one of Wilder's best films, he directed it beautifully, and it's hilarious.
They were so adorable together. It’s sad to hear about how little years they spent before Gilda died, but they were lucky to have been together. It’s also sad to hear that right before Gilda was diagnosed, she and Gene were trying to have kids, but she kept having miscarriages. I think they would’ve made great parents 💔💔
Would someone please share the name of the host facilitating this interview? He is absolutely wonderful! He has so much class, so much poise, and so much respect for his guests. This interview was a complete joy to watch! Thank you for sharing this.
@@ReelinInTheYears66 Thank you! Mr Linehan is a complete joy! He's so polished, professional and clearly knows his business. “Hanky Panky” was a major flop. That proves to me that Richard Pryor being in “Stir Crazy” was the true reason it was a major hit. Gene tried to do it without Pryor and the results were a disaster. I recently watched the film and i actually liked it. I guess audiences weren’t interested in seeing Gene without Richard. Gene never had a major hit again til the next Pryor team up 7 years later in “See No Evil, Hear No Evil”.
It's no wonder, none of us have heard of the fella doing the interview. Challenging and rude, is the best way to greet your quest, or subject your audience to. Especially when it come to someone as loved as Gene Wilder!
What a blessing for Gilda that she had a wonderful man to love her as she fought for her life at the end.
These two were meant for each other. They were great on their own, as well as working together. RIP to each of them.
They were, but his second wife was a wonderful person too and she took care of him in his later years.
.....she took care of him..." ?...she was a great love to him, it's in his book.@@wildwalker44
@@wildwalker44 Yes, we have many soulmates, I believe both his wife and Gilda were Gene's soulmates.

I agree with everything you posted. Especially about the interviewer. He not only LOVES them, but had great questions because he was knowledgable.
Gene Wilder had beutiful eyes. What sparkle they had. They are so different in their interviews. They were brillant.
Beautiful hearted, and hilarious couple..... they are truly missed. ❤
One of the best celebrity couples. They were so true for each other.

Gilda's death was a terrible loss to all , one can only imagine what could have been later in life.
I was in my 20s and cried like my sister died. She had and will always have a special place in my heart.
Learn something new everyday... I have seen quite a few of Sidney Poitier's directorial movies... I never knew he was a director.
Such a true loving couple. It's so sad that Gilda had to fight such a horrible cancer. He stood by her side.

Gene did seem kind of annoyed with the interviewer at times. He seemed like he just wanted to be more to the point. I respect Gene.
