  • *Split-ring rims can be dangerous use every precaution you can, I forgot to explain that I chained around the tire and rim to contain the ring if it would have popped off during inflation*
    Fresh paint and tires on my split-ring rims. I imported an Isuzu Elf camper and getting it ready to pass inspection.

    old tire tread shows how they typically overinflate all tires, sigh, I always lower my pressure after any vehicle was in the shop or had inspection

      @bobbyswampfox  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Dave, thanks! Yeah the work never ends on these haha. Outside of filters and belts I haven't had to do much engine work. How do you search parts?
      I've been using jp-carparts.com and they are always right and fast shipping. I haven't used www.dieselpartsdirect.com/isuzu-4jg2-diesel-engines but they seem to have a lot

      I am in Australia, started to try to order parts from jp-carparts but lost faith when “Shin” sent me parts diagram for 2WD front axle not torsion bar front end we have. Want to get a set of coolant hoses, but again the diagram sent did not have the bottom centre radiator outlet I have. The Trooper parts that the NHS Elf shares are getting hard to find.

      @daveminskip5541 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Is your Terra 500 slow ? Mine has R41 option differential 5.861 gears. Feels like you wish it had a 6 speed gearbox !

    • @bobbyswampfox
      @bobbyswampfox  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@daveminskip5541 Oh that's too bad about JP I had the hardest time finding brake rotors and they sent me the right ones along with an air filter that Brett's truck had gotten wrong before. So I had a lot of faith in Shin, I'll have to be careful in the future.
      Yes, mine is pretty slow. I do better then I expected until we go uphill. I don't know the specs on my gearing but that sounds about right, I blow through 1st-4th gear all before hitting 40mph haha.

    Hi, great video and content!! Quick question ... do you have 15.5 inch wheels or 16 inch? I am guessing the latter, as Firestone only makes the Transformed AT2 in a 16 inch. Any tire suggestions/options for a 15.5 inch wheel, which is what my Elf has? It is possible to order my 195/70 Dunlop SP LT21 tires from Japan?? Any ideas/suggestions/contacts welcomed! Thanks much --

    • @bobbyswampfox
      @bobbyswampfox  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yea I do have the 16" ones. I'm sorry but I am not sure about the 15.5 options. I know a few others have the same issue and we couldn't find a replacement rim for the elf due to a rare bolt pattern. I think you'd be able to order them from Japan I used JP-Carparts.com to order other parts I couldn't find here. I'd shoot them an email if I were you. Good luck. Thanks for checking out the video!

    Hey! Is it not possible to just get new rims? Thanks a bunch.

    • @bobbyswampfox
      @bobbyswampfox  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@noleftturnunstoned Hey! So rims for the elf PCD are incredibly rare so a few have had some custom spacers made and one person imported (that I know of) the rare one piece Topy rim for an arm and a leg. Back when I made this video there wasn't any of that info around only in the last few years have elf owners been working together and sharing info. But honestly I like the split rims now they are actually pretty easy to work on after getting the hang of it. I'd much rather work on these then deal with spacers or spending on imported ones. Thanks for watching! Do you have an Elf?

    • @bobbyswampfox

      Not if you have the split-ring rims and it seems unless yours comes with the one piece rims you are stuck with the split-ring ones and you'll need tubes. The bolt pattern is very rare and none of us have been able to find replacement rims so far. But a few did come with one piece rims so they're out there just be very expensive and hard to find 😅
