Today I’m going to share the most important nutrient for diabetes, weight loss, and fat burning.
A person with diabetes has high blood sugar, insulin resistance, and high or low insulin.
    Symptoms of high blood sugar:
    • Increased thirst
    • Increased urination (especially at night)
    • Fatigue (especially after you eat)
    • Blurred vision
    • Hunger
    • Cravings (especially for carbs)
    • Mood changes (anger or sadness)
Insulin needs potassium to help regulate or lower blood sugar. If you have insulin resistance, you need more potassium to balance out your blood sugar levels.
If you don’t have enough potassium, your blood sugar levels will go higher and higher. Glucose also needs potassium to be able to enter the cells. If glucose can’t enter the cells, it begins to build up, causing high blood glucose.
A potassium deficiency also puts you at a higher risk for diabetes, insulin resistance, weight gain, high cholesterol, high triglycerides, and a fatty liver. The body requires 4700 mg of potassium every day.
    Causes of a potassium deficiency:
    • Refined carbs and sugar
    • MSG
    • Diuretics
    • Stress
    • Diabetes
    • Exercise
Potassium is the most important mineral to start consuming to help regulate your blood sugars and decrease the need for medication.
    Foods high in potassium:
    • Lima beans (not keto-friendly)
    • Avocados
    • Melon (not keto-friendly)
    • Brown sugar (not keto-friendly)
    • Beet tops (high in oxalates)
    • Leafy greens
Consuming leafy greens is the best way to get potassium. A quality electrolyte powder is also a great way to get potassium.

A couple avocados every day should get your magnesium and potassium up to where it should be,And avocados are on the clean list so you don’t have to worry about getting organic. And again if you are type two diabetic you can most likely reverse that.(but don’t count on your primary telling you how to do it, they don’t like losing customers)Look into “clean keto” or “carnivore”And just stop eating processed carbs and sugars.

@@frenchiewilliams73 I will pray A LOT for you! I also had no help during 17 yrs of one dementia parent after other - at home, not in nursing home. 1 sibling - 0 help. The other - 1% in last 2 yrs of Mom's life...took her to lunch once a week or less till Mom was homebound, (= to a Disneyland dad in a divorce). No poop cleanup, confused parent, constant paperwork, lack of sleep, etc, for them yet they're the ones who missed out on all the important stuff including getting to know their parents as people.
One of my jobs was to keep MYSELF out of the hospital by eating pristinely and proper supplements. Dr. Berg channel- also priceless there. My bod and systems still took a huge hit after so many yrs and am still rebuilding over a year later but I can't imagine how bad it would have gotten w/o Berg info!
Also, in case it's pertinent: There is no figuring out Dept. of Human Services, insurance, etc., even after going thru it all! If your mom does qualify for help but gets turned down, KEEP APPLYING. It eventually magically happens. I think agencies just wait to see who really can't come up with extra $ help (from family or wherever) because they WOULD go broke if everyone who qualified did get approved. I tried to keep my parents from using the system as much as possible but eventually was necessary. Even I had to succumb to food stamps. Felt wrong at first but it is meant for people like us, doing the most they can on their own, after all.
So, the best to you whatever levels your situation is & goes thru. Hang in there. The Universe/God has certainly made things work out for me best as possible during, since and, surely, in future. Right extra job appeared, I'm covering the bills, and not homeless! So, YOU DON'T WORRY TOO MUCH! It WILL all be okay.
Too, primal screams in a pillow ARE cathartic. 😱😉😊 (I hope neighbors couldn't hear.... Oy)! Mssg if you need an ear. Bless you, Frenchie Williams, too!

Dr Berg is one of my favorite go to TH-camrs for info to ponder. The advice vs mainstream turn style modern medical
    professionals.
Hard to take advice from doctors who peddle drugs for Big Pharma or invasive surgeries that mess you up. Carry on Dr B. Love your intell.

Finally figured out my problem. I have white patches under my eyes and so did my mum. No doctor could tell me why , even a renal specialist. I found out through the internet that it was a lack of potassium. I told the renal doctor this. She said,’no” but within a minute said that my lab work showed that I had a lack of potassium. Why? I figured it out watching Dr Berg. I drank a mug of expresso coffee a day as did you mum. The coffee flushed out the potassium from my body. I ended up in Emergency while in the U.S. due to an overly high BP reading and a heartbeat of 106. I had been drinking up to 3 cups of hotel coffee a day and previously had really overindulged in chocolate bars and junk food. My blood sugar was elevated too for the first time in my life. I stopped the coffee and sugar for a month and the white patches are not as stark. These white patches show up in people who binge drink too. I also did not take potassium as I did not want to damage my kidneys.

Hey Dr. Berg and team, I've been watching your videos for a few months now and find the information so helpful. I haven't changed my diet fully, but I'm making a conscious effort to eat more greens and fish and fresh food.
I'm Irish so carbs are a big part of my diet. Now, I'm reducing my card intake slowly but surely. I'm trying to stick to 3 meals with no snacking as well.
My body definitely spikes after carbs and then when the level drops I'm hungry and snack. It's baby steps but I'm on the way.
I found the information about losing weight in menopause so helpful. Get healthy first and that's the most important thing. 💚🍀🌸

So very interesting and mind blowing information. Potassium depleted by:
    1. Glucose needs potassium to enter the cells as energy. Lack of potassium means glucose stays in the blood and blood sugar level rises, making a call for insulin release. Interesting that this is also the reason that athletes need more potassium for exercise as they need more glucose metabolized.
    2. High sugar/refined carb diet which depletes potassium to store as fat. So, not only does a high carb/sugar diet create more fat but also reduces potassium stores. No carbs.
    3. MSG, extra salty diet uses up potassium to excrete the sodium in your pee or sweat.
    4. Diuretics from hypertension drugs reduces potassium.
    5. Stress - creates Cortisol and Cortisol creates a potassium deficiency. No stress.
    6. Being Diabetic means you need MUCH more potassium.
    7. Exercise and sweating - you need MUCH more potassium. See #1.
Foods that have high Potassium content. You need 5000 mg per day:
    Avocado 708 mg, Salmon 719 mg/ 1/2 fillet, Beet Greens 290 mg/cup, Greens 500 mg, Green Coconut water 500 mg/ cup, Tomatoes 300 medium, Potatoes 897 medium, Lima Beans, 955 mg/ cup, Watermelon 320 mg/slice, Swiss Chard 960 mg/cup cooked, Spinach 840 mg/cup cooked, bok choy 630 mg/ cup cooked, White Beans 600 mg/ half cup, whole lemon 80 mg/pulverized in a drink,

Could you kindly do a video on how to get most out of the up comming Ramadan. I'm thinking on how to take advantage of a 30 days of fasting session and how to benefit from ketosis and losing weight. What type of food would be best to eat in order not to feel that much hungry and kickstart the fat burn. Which types of fluids would be beneficial etc. in order words, how to get most out of a 30 day fasting session.
