You just need to accept the fact that war frame has more concurrent players for a reason. D2 has so many flaws these days it’s not worth listing them all.
I recently came back to D2 and I just feel like there is too many high end pvpers and cheaters in the pvp part of the game. So as a casual gamer it's just not fun to go in there and just get one shot as soon as you spawn 😅
Since i perma quitted from D2 should i take it back and change my pvp behavior? Because in 2014, experience was completely different - nobody was messing with my gunfights, unless it looked like that i needed assistance. You understand now that why i like Star Wars BF 1 and 2, and titanfall 1 and 2 and Destiny 1 combined arms size maps? SBMM was the worst this that happened to match balancing in this game, literal 20 min waits for a match and playing people in Poland when I’m in the Sunshine State. Get real Bungie, dog shit.
Was in the process of moving so I haven’t been on since April, but I did keep up with the D2 updates. The moment I saw prismatic, I knew two things were gonna happen. 1). Hunters would be the best class. 2). PvP would be an ability spam fest. I hoped I would prove myself wrong and wanted to try out TFS. I finally was able to log in earlier this week and the first thing I did was dive into Crucible. I didn’t buy the DLC yet and just wanted to see what PvP was like and…I’m actually glad I didn’t get the DLC. Off the rip I could see all the progress PvP made towards balance over the past year was non existent. Closed the game out and loaded up Battlefield 4. I’ve been playing since D1 and have pre ordered every DLC. This will be the first time I didn’t. And it’s unfortunate because it’s the end of this storyline, but I just don’t have fun in PvP anymore like I used to. I’ll probably drop in every now and then to see but I don’t think I can sink hours of my time into getting blasted around the map with abilities and broken load outs.
Everything I've ever enjoyed in Destiny pvp was eventually nerfed or sunset as if the developers wanted me to quit, which I eventually did. No regrets.
Cool video man, I enjoyed the insight from a vet. I've been playing since Taken King, but this is the only FPS I ever really got big into so I don't have a wider perspective on PvP.
My issue is the large amount of long range maps has lead to a horrible meta of just sit in the back of the map with a pulse and scout I hate it so much
I never minded the lack of attention to pvp, but I absolutely hated all the complaints everywhere I looked. It put a sour taste in my mouth, but I was still able to ignore it and have a blast playing. I'm not the biggest fan of the newest version of pvp though. Ultimately, I preferred the version with full blown sbmm, but I also loved the survival competitive mode. Losing that and the increasing craziness I'm seeing in each mode has really just made me not want to play. I still do, but probably only half as much
The matchmaking is atrocious. I'm stuck in that in between where I get good players, which is not problem with high k/d on the enemy side which is not a problem bc I still top frag against them and like the challenge, but my team loses anyway. Currently just looking at iron banner I'm juggling between 2-3 k/d with a 23% win rate. I almost always top frag and got a one of the highest points from capturing. I feel like everyone just expects me to hold their hands in everything I do, so that I could get a fucking best dressed accommodation for it or not give me anything at all... or on the rare occasion steam roll the entire enemy which I feel awful about. Not to mention the entire player pool feels so small since it based on connection (which is still bad people lag like crazy) and there is no proper refreshing between matches
In D1 I loved PvP, because I was good at it lol. I felt like I could fry and the maps were great. When those rise of iron banner weapons dropped they were amazing. The clever dragon smacked for me. I'd do montages and easily be top most matches. D2 hasn't really felt that way at all for me. Occasionally il jump in to get a weapon from banner and I'll have a great time for 2 matches until sbmm smashes me back down with a bump. It's either because I'm older now or it's just a D2 thing.
As soon as they started doing Connection Based Matchmaking is was over for me. The only thing worse than waiting for a game and it's sweaty (the hardcore gamers' complaints), is joining a game and getting absolutely annihilated for ten to fifteen minutes. Its flatlined because it's impossible to get into and actually compete. I never understood why they don't just create lobbies like COD, and if the lobby is good you stay, but if you can't compete you leave and they put you in an easier lobby.
D2 PvP is honestly the best arena shooter out there. Before the new expansion it was amazing. The problem is new pvp players are FORCED to PVE. My buddy started a new account. I told him he could just grab a rose and felwinters and have a loadout. And if he liked the PvP he could just buy the battle pass for deepsights so he wouldn’t have to farm Boy was I wrong! They have this “journey” thing now for new light… you can’t even slot your armor until rank 5. You have to do 10s of hours of pve missions that no PvP player would want to do. All they have to do is give new light accounts instantly a reasonably competitive loadout.. let them enjoy the game and they can add pve if they want.
I like it when shoulder charge in d1 1 tapped everything it was fun. Now I'm just bored and it gets me to frustrated that I need to back away or else I get extremely mad.
Great video. Pve is awesome right now but pvp… needs more balance. They need crucible updates a lot quicker. Any other game something like Titan over shield would never exist. Ability spam is still excessive. The current special ammo system feels like they haven’t got a vision for where they want pvp to be. Love destiny 2 but I wish they looked at other more competitive games for inspiration
I stopped playing destiny 2 before the witch queen dropped. This games pvp became so meta driven, and the rng was so unforgiving to casual players, and some of the best content being locked behind raids, and trials also alienated the shit out of us filthy casuals. I remember when lunas howl dropped and it was being gate kept after a certain point by the better players who decided who deserved their gun, to the point I saw so many people paying to get the not forgotten and lunas just to be able to survive quick play. And then bungie hit it with the nerf hammer 😂 and then for over two years I watched as they dropped the new pinnacle weapons, let them wreak havoc on the meta for a season, then render them useless just as people like myself got them. So after years of that fun, and the constant reskins and cosmetic changes to enemies to make them “new” it just started to feel like there very much wasn’t enough juice for the squeeze
I disagree on profitability or other games that are only PVP wouldn’t exist. In D1, Trials and PVP streamers are what blew Destiny up and made the game what it is today. Not profitability. Instead, Bungie made the choice to funnel cash they made on Destiny to other ventures such as Marathon, self publishing, building out huge new offices, media ventures and “gummiebear.” They rolled the dice. It failed and they needed Sony.
The problem with PVP is not the lack of maps to play or the lack of items to use but the damage you take and the damage you give. The game can be balanced easily but rhey will not do it. The game is a computer program that can do pretty much anything that you want it to.
The comp playlist right now makes me want to castrate myself. Collision is a failure on all fronts. I have seen shotgun rushers brush the point and cap the f***ing thing in under a second. I wouldn't even be a tenth as mad if the elimination game mode just stayed in the f***ing playlist. F*** collision.
Pvp/shooting games are almost impossible to play in a fair way now. Lots of brainless cheaters, hackers, people with not a single drop of talent using aimbots, wall hacks, network manipulation, it's disgusting. The worst is that, in this case, Bungie knows about them, the developers are also aware but they do nothing about it. I don't enjoy this game mode anymore and it's sad because it used to be fun
this happen when is a auto rifle are meta, we can't have balance when the more forgiving weapons are strong, just like happen in the gnawing hunger meta no ones miss auto shots theres no place for error, no need for strafing etc game feels like cod....ew

Its peer2peer PVP and on PC... it purely invites cheater and bad performance and bad matchmaking! But servers are pricey, so they will never change it, especially when players complain about superficial things and are pleased with words and superficial "fixes" ...
I played d2 pvp alot, had not forgotten n stuff like that. Good times no cap, tho i stopped the game and dont feel like coming back for other reasons than the pvp. It's more about the way the "light" system is and the guns being locked n stuff. Havent looked at news for the game in a while idk what they did with this sunsetting crap they had at one point.
Season 4 marked the end of pvp. I physically have not touched d2 since the march 5th update. That singular update ruined d2 for me. Only way I’m coming back is if they revert the damage changes to weapons in pvp that they did during that update.
@@justinkidder6872 pvp has been the same since forsaken bud. Map out the meta season to season, week to week (which I have) since s4 and you’ll see no change. Such as but not exclusive to the example, autos, hc, scouts, etc.

So why would I trust them to keep the team with that game once it releases? I already know they're fine with ignoring major parts of their game to build a whole new game. I just don't trust Bungie anymore. Well, I trust them to charge a lot for very little, but that's all I trust them for.
Why put so much money into something that won’t ever been seen as a competitive game. This game is more pve than pvp. And bungie does more than enough to keep pvp on the map, compared to other live service games
When you focus on profit instead of delivering a better product, you deserve to fail, especially in a creative sector. Destiny sucks now because it's a cash grab with little to no substance. Why would anyone trust them to make their next game any better? It will also be a cash grab of a game. They will make it as cheaply as they can, and they will make a lot of money off of kids and addicts who can't even think of ppaying a different game.
The main reason pvp sucks now is because it literally returned to d2 year 1 but worse. Primary weapons are the main weapon choice, teamshot meta and slower gameplay due to primary meta. That's where I'm at with the game. My gf and I had a baby so I had to stop playing and now the grind to get PvP ready for trails or comp is insane. I was ascendant rank 2 seasons and I have lots of flawlesses but I can't be bothered to get back into it because of the grind. I just don't have time with a full time job and a baby
I'm so glad I don't have children, no disrespect. I couldn't imagine in this economy@@JeremyGray-u2w
You just need to accept the fact that war frame has more concurrent players for a reason. D2 has so many flaws these days it’s not worth listing them all.
I'm too exhausted for PVP I'm just waiting for new strikes to appear in Destiny 2
Few things i hated:
1 Constant teamshots
2 Unable to use my favorite weapons because of majority of ppl using just the meta
3 matching against ppl that are only playing to improve &or to win
I mean, i liked using weapons i like, but the fact is that my matchmaking experience when i kept playing just kept getting worse constantly in a skyrocket speed. Like, i was after a break able to have fun using weapons i like few matches, and then the same frustrating experience that i hate with passion started AGAIN... Yup same thing everytime and i was not happy with it at all.
Imagine whining about teamshots in...pvp. 😂😂😂😂
@@simplylethul i honestly didn't like teammates that actually helped when i didn't even need help at defeating my opponents, but when i needed teammates' help, oh wow, nobody around. This is precisely why i always complain about helpful teammates. I'd be experiencing teammates abondoning me completely, rather than have experience of teammates helping when i am not even needing them to be around me, because that really makes me extremely annoyed the most about games that have only mid size maps, like Destiny 2 these days. Because in 2014, experience was completely different - nobody was messing with my gunfights, unless it looked like that i needed assistance. You understand now that why i like Star Wars BF 1 and 2, and titanfall 1 and 2 and Destiny 1 combined arms size maps? If not let me clarify for ya: it's a lot easier to avoid staying nearby my teammates to avoid getting assisted in the moments when i don't need assistance at all.
@@simplylethulehhh team shots are over powered in destiny.
@@Venomx-nb1jr team shots are supposed to be...first time playing pvp in a game?
SBMM was the worst this that happened to match balancing in this game, literal 20 min waits for a match and playing people in Poland when I’m in the Sunshine State. Get real Bungie, dog shit.
They need to add solo lobbies. LFG teams ruin mathmaking/team balancing. They need to be playing each other.
I honestly have really enjoyed pvp the past few seasons, almost as much as during forsaken
I came back recently and I’ve had a lot of fun in pvp. I take it for what it is and hop in play for a little and I’m good
Everything I've ever enjoyed in Destiny pvp was eventually nerfed or sunset as if the developers wanted me to quit, which I eventually did.
I still do, but probably only half as much
Solid insight. Glad to see you working on comp. You land your autorifle yet?
And if he liked the PvP he could just buy the battle pass for deepsights so he wouldn’t have to farm
Boy was I wrong!
I think a MP mode akin to Halo, (i.e - one type of sniper, one type of AR etc) would have been fun to experiment with..
I like it when shoulder charge in d1 1 tapped everything it was fun.
Now I'm just bored and it gets me to frustrated that I need to back away or else I get extremely mad.
PvP used to be my jam on Destiny
I really enjoy this style of content from you Geek. I like hearing your thoughts about D2.
I disagree on profitability or other games that are only PVP wouldn’t exist. In D1, Trials and PVP streamers are what blew Destiny up and made the game what it is today.
Not profitability. Instead, Bungie made the choice to funnel cash they made on Destiny to other ventures such as Marathon, self publishing, building out huge new offices, media ventures and “gummiebear.”
They rolled the dice. It failed and they needed Sony.
This is fundamentally incorrect. I understand thinking that's how things work, but I wanted to let you know it's just not.

The problem with PVP is not the lack of maps to play or the lack of items to use but the damage you take and the damage you give.
The game can be balanced easily but rhey will not do it.
The game is a computer program that can do pretty much anything that you want it to.
Pvp definitely needs some help....
F*** collision.
yea dude, pretty much
Pvp/shooting games are almost impossible to play in a fair way now.
I still only play crucible and I don't find it super unbalanced with prism still having fun with the other subclasses
this happen when is a auto rifle are meta, we can't have balance when the more forgiving weapons are strong, just like happen in the gnawing hunger meta no ones miss auto shots theres no place for error, no need for strafing etc game feels like cod....ew
They've actually messed with the systems again, and now ammo crates are back. Woo.
Pvp is just such a crapshoot now. So many things just kill you now with nothing you can do about it, everyone is healing left and right... Just kind of sucks now.
Hey Geek are you going to try out The First Descendent when it drops?
trials matchmaking is straight shit, the fact that literally 95% of my games specifically need for me to not be the one that dies for us to win is stupid af. how am i solo carrying some sorry duo bums against some sweaty bums. literally if i die ik the round is over.
Its peer2peer PVP and on PC... it purely invites cheater and bad performance and bad matchmaking!
But servers are pricey, so they will never change it, especially when players complain about superficial things and are pleased with words and superficial "fixes" ...
Geeeeeeeeeeekk!!!!!!! Great video and solid points. And Happy belated Father's Day my man. 💪🥰
Build crafting killed the game. Also just make both a whole different thing for pvp and pve.
Pvp can suck it
You must be fun at parties.
Loving the uploads Mike or Geekermon
Is just PVP, is not a problem!
It been fell and hasn't really recovered from 4v4 D2 vanilla tbh
Feels good to go pop heads with not forgotten
Season 4 marked the end of pvp. I physically have not touched d2 since the march 5th update. That singular update ruined d2 for me. Only way I’m coming back is if they revert the damage changes to weapons in pvp that they did during that update.
I loved PvP pre forsaken it's been a slide downhill ever since.
30th anniversary time was the best PVP period in a long time.
@@justinkidder6872 pvp has been the same since forsaken bud. Map out the meta season to season, week to week (which I have) since s4 and you’ll see no change. The issue with pvp are the thinks YOUR kind of pvp players think are ok. I’ve argued this for years. The only way for pvp to get better is to nerf/kill the weapons (notice I said weapons and not things) hurting it. Not named weapons. I’m talking weapon types. Such as but not exclusive to the example, autos, hc, scouts, etc.
@@b0mberman for hc and ohk special users only.
Again, leading to my explanation that pvp has never changed since s4 and has been horrible
Leaving a comment to boost the algorithm
Whats the point in playing pvp if everyone has aimbots and wallhacks?
Ah, the BETTER version of Gladd's idiotic video about PvP. From an ACTUAL PvP player! Man, Gladd's vid was such a freakin' joke lol.
i just liked D1 pvp because all the people used controller with the same aim assist-bullet magnetism and was slower on D2 the crossplay with PC ruined the PVP make it way more sweatier and the bullet magnetism of D2 is so ridicolous you hit the arm or not even hit the enemy and the game count the shot as crit is so ridicolous and is so fast the latency-desync feeel way worse on D2 just for that
and on D2 the metas of weapons and sybclasses are waaay more restrictive than on D1 and you look the trials report and shows that the balance of subclasses is garbaje way more than half of people use literally the same setups of everything i preffer play any other shooter for PVP than D2 for me just isn´t fun and for me feels like cheating exploiting the bullet magnetism a, aim assist and the most broken subclass make me a worse fps player instead of improve
D2 can never be a competitive game not have the foundation for it
Glad to see you back, Mike.
I quit destiny because of the pvp, or lack thereof. I haven’t even gotten final shape. Xdefiant has been loads of fun!
Gotta love the imbalacing of PvP
They moved their PvP team to the next game 🥴 this is known.
So why would I trust them to keep the team with that game once it releases? I already know they're fine with ignoring major parts of their game to build a whole new game. I just don't trust Bungie anymore. Well, I trust them to charge a lot for very little, but that's all I trust them for.
All PvP needed was maps , it’s such a simple solution and bungie can’t even give us the old maps
the only thing that can ignite interest again is leaderboards, some genuine competition and showoff
Why put so much money into something that won’t ever been seen as a competitive game. This game is more pve than pvp. And bungie does more than enough to keep pvp on the map, compared to other live service games
That’s a pretty low bar though
@@toxicear5274 maybe but it's true tho.

Destiny wont last past fs
Apparently destiny has been falling for 10 years 😂
I think PvP is pretty much done for, I'm 90% sure Bungie is working on Destiny 3 but I wonder if it will even have PvP at all
The main reason pvp sucks now is because it literally returned to d2 year 1 but worse.
Primary weapons are the main weapon choice, teamshot meta and slower gameplay due to primary meta. Same situation different look. Special ammo needs to return in full force and primaries need to be balanced.
Sidenote: I'd like the reward screen from d1 to return so we can see the crazy loot our teammates get.
bro seriously doesn't think special crutches are everywhere still? lmao
