    Lol "Holy Spigolies". That motor is sick. It sounds amazing too. He's brought it up to Austin a few times. Highway driving a motor that complicated usually means big problems, but that one ran cool and smooth even in summertime! You're gonna have some fun with that one!

    The spring benders work well. The only down side would be they tend to mar the tubing. Their main advantage is they keep the tubing from kinking. Like all of the black AN fittings instead of red & blue. Won’t look like a muscle car built in the 80’s. I’d dig a sticker. Email on the way. Keep digging deep, brother!

    you wont be running hot.... the injections system will keep the engine running perfectly so it wont lean out. that is where most turbo guys make the mistake. My only worry is looks like you need to trim that original H apron to get the turbo to fit. Really nicely setup with all the locations of the parts. Looks like totally deck lid shut. You will need to put vents in the fender well areas or it will stave for AIr. put some filters in there.

    • @JWClassicVW
      @JWClassicVW  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No trimming required, everything fits and there is a filter for the turbo... more to come as the build continues. Thanks for the support brother!

    • @Mikefngarage
      @Mikefngarage 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JWClassicVW Oh yea so the turbo gets engine air from outside the engine compartment. Might want to insulate a tube and put it up into the fender well. so the air is not so hot going into the turbo... GREAT SETUP...honesty one of the best I have ever seen. The Porsche fan gives you the room for the intercooler. but my only worry is that the heat generated from the intercooler will circulate into the fan. Stand offs would help that or holes in from the fender wells and small fans and filters. Early cars had no deck lid ventilation. and smaller venting holes above and not enough air flow. That is why in the later years they put deck lid vents in.

    Hi Buddy, nice mule you're putting in the goose. Just wondering why you didn't run the fuel lines internally along the passenger side centre tunnel. The way it is now it is exposed to potential damage.

    • @JWClassicVW

      Jason. I know everyone has an opinion on turbo setups and the what works best. I just want to echo the previous comment of the BOV placement. There really isn’t much room between the turbo and throttle body. When the throttle initially slams shut, the airflow will reverse and go back through the turbo. There is all kinds of videos out there showing it, and over time really puts the wear and tear on the turbo. It’s could possibly cause severe damage to that beautiful motor of yours. Just want you to be aware. I really can’t wait to see the video of you starting that beast!.

All the racers I know run JE or Wiseco. the other pistons have been known to separate at the piston pin above 6800 rpm. I would need to check into that. All the other stuff in there is great stuff. ALSO who makes the crank for that. If it is 4340 generic china 300hp will not last. There is another crankshaft company who makes good ones but they cost 3 grand. I don't remember the brand off hand. or old original Okrasa. German ones but they are pretty much gone.
