I love that little tea table talk around 0:40. They did such a good job of poking fun at epidemic car thefts in Albania without being nasty about it. It's this sort of humor that elevated the old Top Gear.
Yeah the pure sarcasm and subtly of it 😅 I preferred this humour to the later years where it all felt too ott and trying to hard.

I was cycling through Albania around about the same time. I even recognize the coastal road these three are driving along. It was brand new at the time, a few years earlier and they would have had a gravel track that only army trucks could drive on. I also remember my surprise at all the Mercs there, but also how surprised the locals were to see me on my bike. The country has changed a lot since then, there are far more cars now, most of them not Mercs, and also a lot of far better roads, but they still have strange driving habits. Tractors and horse drawn carriages are a common sight on motorways, cars going the wrong way on roundabouts and sometimes on the motorway and even stopping to have a pee. Still, it's quite safe to drive there, motorist tend to drive slower than in other countries and there is far less traffic. Also it's worth remembering not to rely too heavily on traffic signs, the rule is, the one first on an intersection has right of way. Also, Albanian motorists consider a red light just a warning to be wary of traffic crossing their lane. A green light means the same.

That happened to my father
Night driving experience in Albania, was the best night driving experience I ever had. Light reflective elements were on every step, they marked the edges of the road, the lanes and because of this I could see the road clearly.
The fact that they keep referring to it as the "Bentley" or the "Mulsanne" throughout the episode, with a straight face, gets me every single time 😂

I can honestly say I feel the BBC messed up sacking Clarkson.
+Thomas Morrisey I know mate I'm English and it was all over the media. Yet a petition racked up over 2 million signatures to keep him on the show and he apologised for his deplorable behaviour.
Oisin (the producer) even dropped the police charges and accepted his apology so why did the Beeb bitches have to 'make an example' of him?
They've already been hit by major child abuse/license fee scandals, Clarkson was popular and entertaining and one of the major reasons I actually tuned into the channel.
No Jeremy Clarkson messed up so many times that the BBC had no choice but to sack him. I don't know if you have a job, but if you do, if there was some big head hot shot at work, who always brought in good results and made a lot of money for the firm, but thought he was above the law, and then one day he physically attacked you would you want your employer to sack him, or just turn a blind eye to it? Jeremy Clarkson ruined Top Gear not the BBC, he and all his fan bois need to accept this. If you enjoyed his work and now can't watch it without having to fork out more money, this isn't the BBC's fault it's his. It's like when Liverpool sacked Luis Suárez, it was the last thing they wanted to do, he had nearly single handedly won them the Premiership for them, but when he misbehaved one last time they had no choice, it lead to Brendan Rogers loosing his job too. Clarkson and Suárez both knew they would get another gig somewhere else. What should really happen is, like in the real world, once someone has misbehaved there should be solidarity and no other football team of TV channel should give them a job. The only ppl who have suffered from Clarkson's actions is us the fans and the BBC, Clarkson himself has benefited from attacking someone, and that just can't be good for anyone, not even him.

well if they work than no point in fixing them is there? :D i love any car that doesn't break even if its a crappy nissan hatch back ( most likely my first car lol ) if all the little bits inside that keep it moving forward still work and work well i dont have a problem. . .reverse gear is nice too though . . .and brakes :P you know what i mean. my brother has a car that was a pain in the ass and wallet to make work but it does now and my other brother's ford truck is an utter piece of steaming shit ( the driveshaft bearings ground them selves up and after we fixed that the whole transmission fell out of the transmission . . .yea thats right it did ) . . .if it works I'm happy :)

The reason why Albania loves old Mercedes is that they go forever and can withstand bumpy roads. Many of those probably have more the half million kilometers on the clock and run perfectly if you take care of them.
