      @GazLan 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sciroccomods
      The data sheet that comes with the BH auto foam should state the ratio. Its 1 part in 100 for light cleaning and 5 parts in 100 for a heavily soiled vehicle. You also need to work out the flow rate of your pressure washer and know the size of your snowfoam lance bottle. More than likely it'll be about 400ml in a 1litre bottle and adjust the mix accordingly.

  • @peemick
    @peemick 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Yeah, the snow foam lance looks cool, good wide mouth bottle on there. Wasn't impressed with the AG snow foam. Yeah id did look like shaving foam, but the foam was a pain as it hung around for days. Annoyed the shit out the neighbours that had to drive through it. Used it for 8 months, and I don't actually feel like it cleaned my cars, and got nothing but grief off the neighbours . Switch back to BH AF and wow what a difference.

    Looks amazing but as we know from your videos bilt hamber breaks dirt down the best.
    Also is it ok to wax a car without clay barring or anything like that? dont fancy marring up the paint.

      @LJfootball14 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kasam Sagir I’m not Jon and I’m certainly no expert, but IMO yes you can.
      Jon’s opinion matters “much much more” than mine but I wouldn’t Clay my vehicle unless I have to or unless you feel that the containments/fallout is becoming just too much. This is just my opinion, but I only Clay my vehicle if I know I’m going to polish with a DA/rotary afterwards.
      On the other hand remember too that wax is also an abrasive so you might pick up some of those containments and scratch your car’s paint when you buff but I wouldn’t clay unless I absolutely feel like the vehicle needs it.

    John, I seem to remember you did a video on snow foam where you recommended a “ runny snot” consistency, this made sense as obviously the dirt needs encapsulating and moving off the car. Have you changed your opinion or do you use different thicknesses between brands?

    • @ForensicDetailing
      @ForensicDetailing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      really for me consistency means nothing. Other than fun. AKA I dont care if its thick and foamy. I also dont care if it clings.. but the vast majority of the market wants thick foam. Specially the USA market but most of the UK as well.

    Jon (FDC) I have a question - (speaking of car washing foam):
    I notice Bilt Hamber Auto-Wash pH is ~ 7 but yet Auto-Foam is ~ 13 pH (for reference AutoGlym Polar Blast is 7.35 pH)...shouldn’t auto-wash be 13 and auto-foam be 7 and as you claim the auto-wash to be the best “cleaning” car shampoo for which I believe you!
    I know pH doesn’t tell the entire story but that pH does seem off to me.
    Let me know your thoughts as I’ve bought some auto-wash here in the USA and it delivers in the next few days.

    • @ForensicDetailing
      @ForensicDetailing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      isnt autowash PH 10 roughly? either way the PH does not really tell you anything. Or its a bit like looking a a fat person and thinking they are unfit when they might be fit. you can have PH neutral products that clean better than PH 13 as well... but also it depends what your cleaning. alkalinity is usefull for degreasing, acidity is usefull for decontamination of embedded solids. And you can still utilize the properties of an acid or an alkaline in a detergent bland that is PH balanced, the reason for this is the specific cleaning function is not always relevent to its PH, sometimes the PH is just an irrellevent consequence.

    I'd like 1st a bottle that doesn't topple and after seeing your vid, I've tried to get a Dr. Dirt replacement bottle without much success. Next I'd like a wide mouth bottle and this seems to fit the bill. Have you tried the cannon with any other snow foam? I use Bilt Hamber.

  • @jaspersbloke
    @jaspersbloke 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Not generally a fan of AG but have been using Polar Blast for a while, always gives a thick clingy foam that dwells really well but my main reason for using it is that you can see the dirt in the foam as you rinse, so it’s doing it’s job. Be interesting to see Jon do a side by side with BH/8 Below. Have resisted the actual Blaster Lance so far because it’s much more expensive than very similar models available elsewhere, I do like the wide mouthed bottle format but is it really £15ish better?

    Considering getting the Auto Brite Heavy Duty Foam Lance and Bilt Hamber Auto Foam to use with Karcher K3.
    I'm new to this foaming my own car, I usually detail interior myself and get it washed at the car wash.
    But, seems as I'm waiting to collect my KarcherK3, I thought why not.. foam looks fun enough..
    What do you guys reckon of this combo?

  • @Nerdsickelz
    @Nerdsickelz 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    With snow foams, is it entirely down to the chemical composition or is it down to the pressure fron the pressure washer? Or a combination of both? :)

    • @ForensicDetailing
      @ForensicDetailing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      depends what you mean by "it" jack. Are you talking about cleaning power or like how much it foams up? if its foaming you need a foamy product for sure, but pressure and flow and the condition of the lance are important. lances can also be designed for certain flow rates and pressure (with different orrafice sizes) so making sure you have the right lance for an electric pressure washer is important. I did a video on this very recently discussing all the factors on the "forensic unplugged" channel if your are interested mate.

Effectively I don't think I can use this lance to mix at 1:5 or 1:10 unless I pre-dilute the product in the bottle. Any advice appreciated. Thank you!

    Hi John, with Silver cars being a hugely popular colour would you consider reviewing the latest Wax/Polishes and Glazes for "Silver Cars" as now so many companies are taking note and stating that they're "Special, Just For Silver Cars" products are the best. I have asked you in the past about how to make a silver car shine and you were kind enough to reply however, since then there seems to be an ever growing market of "special products for silver cars" and I am very interested to know if these products work any better that standard product that are already out there and if these so-called silver products are just taking people for fools. Hope you at least get a chance to read my message and its totally understandable if not but I genuinely would think it would make a great show for you to do, on another note keep up the great work and the partners is so please that I am spending/wasting money on what she considers as useless crap, maybe its just us sad car nuts that see the excitement of what you do on your channel, keep up the great work bud.

And refine it with a soft pad and a finshing polish. then stick beadmkaer or a nice high nuba wax on it. and it will look as good as it gets honestly. the key is to seal up the paint after polishing.
