    I know you hear this a lot Jon, but YOU ARE THE BEST detailing channel on TH-cam hands down my friend. Love the honesty in your reviews and I like your style buddy. Give us some more of that fantastic singing you do sometime soon. I heard you sing at the end of one of your videos a while back while playing the guitar and you have a wonderful voice my friend. Wonderful. You should have been a professional singer in a band! Great job buddy! Love all your videos and always look forward to the next one. Have a wonderful week and take a day off on me! LOL. No, seriously, take a day for yourself and enjoy yourself Jon. Your a great friend to all of us "weekend warrior" detailers out here.

    When I upgraded to a Kranzle I only have a one-metre length of hose from tap to washer, but I already had good flow pressure. I have an MTM PF22 and an ABD PA lance there is no difference in performance but I have 1.24mm orifice in them. Many lances need a good LPM and high PSI check before you buy.

    Great video & can relate 👍
    I have a K7 Premium. My work around is to rest the lance with snowfoam attached on the front of the machine. No issues with it falling over.
    Only suitable for machines with a hose that is wound on the reel.

      It makes total sense. I swapped out all my 1/4 inch bsp airline fittings for high flow versions for air tools. I guess it's the same principal. Those stop ends are probably creating a vortex in the flow also. I use a Nilfisk or Nilflisk as John refers to them. It does choke occasionally this may be why. I've always drained and depressurised it after each use. I've recently taken it apart and replaced all the seals but it's been going at least 13 years now 👍🏻

    Great content again Jon, I love these little problem solving tips videos. I find these in some ways more interesting than product reviews if I’m honest. Tip i’d avoid 1.1 orifices in a snow foam lance on a K2 it can make it stall (That unit was old though but I’ve heard other people have the same issue with it). Wasn’t a issue when I tried it with a bigger K5.

    • @forensicunplugged4295
      @forensicunplugged4295  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      your right, you do have to be a little bit carefull. if you put anything non standard on your system you do risk causing issues. Theres charts out there for most pressure washers which show you the flow rates and what pressure gun orrafice sizes are recomended to support it. Im not sure if those same charts exist for lances because theres more factors at play.. but if you cause your karcher to pulse yer its typically being backed up too much.

    Thanks John never thought of the Flow stopper, I have Kranzle so i reckon that flow stopper is slowing the flow down a little. I also use Filtered/warm water in my lance and that helps Bilt Hamber produce a thick foam over my car, and as BH doesnt foam up well in many youtube videos. Goes to show how good a Kranzle and PA lance is.

  • @Saavvvv
    @Saavvvv 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Interesting... I can't see how the stop connectors make any difference at all though. The pressure washer determines the flow rate coming out of the lance depending on the power of the pump. I'm going to test this theory with my K4 today!

      put your finger over a running tap. same effect dude.

    • @1oldson
      @1oldson 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      i heard on another channel that its roughly 5% drop in flow per stop connector. the pressure washer needs its recommended minimum flow rate before it can reach max efficiency.
      ive also started using just a length of hose instead of a whole reel, as length and coils/ twists also affect flow rate.
      flow rate for me is also affected by the fact that the tap is supplied by a water softener. i also have a hard water tap which has much better flow , but causes water spots so i dont use it for washing.

  • @jameshind6644
    @jameshind6644 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Did you mention about checking how much water you get from your taps as that could be a cause of poor foam. Here in Oz I should be getting 20ltrs per min, I’m actually getting 7.5ltrs per min which is barely enough to run a small pressure washer. A quick call to the water board took place.

  • @gregchristie2763
    @gregchristie2763 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Haha...Bilt Hamber say for autofoam you don't actually need any foam at all and it works just as effectively, so don't worry about the foam mate.. it's just a visual effect to make you feel good and think it's working well it's all about marketing cons.. and if you do want a lot of foam all you have to do introduce more air...well that is if bilt hamber are correct 😂?.. well here's the extract from the PDF of how to use thier Autofoam.
    "auto-foam can be applied as an effective prewash by simply spraying a dilute solution from a garden
    pump sprayer. Do not expect foam when applied in this way, the foam itself is not a necessary part
    of the cleaning process. Always allow the product to remain on the surface for a few minutes before
    rinsing - the longer the dwell time the better."

Resistance work will burn calories even when your at rest due to the muscles expanding/recovering, initially you may see a gain in weight as muscle is heavier than fat. Hope that helps keep safe. Thicker snow foam doesn’t guarantee a cleaner car, as you’ll find if you simply increase the ratio of solution. Just buy a QUALITY snow foam like Bilt Hamber or Auto Finesse Avalanche which works absolutely fine with a standard pressure washer. But do buy the best snow foam Lance/Gun you can afford as this really does make the difference IMO

    with regards to pressure washer "minimum supply flow rate", Jon you say "read the effin manual". But imo manufacturers should be advertising this requirement for all to see without reading the manual.
    i nearly bought a k7 compact until i found out that it requires min 12 lpm . i just about get 10 lpm so if i had bought the k7 it would have had issues potentially.
    went with k5 compact in the end for this reason.

    • @AntEloftheHouseofEl
      @AntEloftheHouseofEl 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thick snow foam WILL run off the car. The difference is dwell time. Unless you are using Bilt Hamber Auto Foam, then longer dwell time is a bonus.
      The longer the foam clings to the car, the longer the surfactants in it have to break down the dirt.
      I use a PA lance with Magifoam and I get anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes dwell time depending on the weather.
      But after rinsing the car barely needs washing!

    Slightly off topic but isn't it better to have snow foam that slowly runs off the panel rather than sits in one place?
    Cheers Rob

    • @viewfield5
      @viewfield5 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      not really as the snow foam is softening the dirt on the car so when u pressure wash the car down, the water blasts thru the softened dirt and it then runs down the panel.

    I hate the mtm foamer. It doesn’t have enough flow. Be it I have a 4gpm pressure washer. I prefer the cheap Chinese one I got since it allows a ton a material to flow out and I can coat the car in a few seconds

    I’ve got a blue top tech pressure washer and the foam gun they give is awful. I’ve been looking for a foam gun that fits mine but all are for karcher which is too big to attach to mine. Any help?

      Ive never heard of blue tech mate, sorry but I would called them and ask if they have convertor adapaters so you can support 1/4 inch quick connect fitment guns. I susupect this brand might be using unique fitments that are too niche for the guns creators to bothe rmaking an adapter for. but there is a good chance there will be something out there for it.

      never a good idea to mix chemicals. if you want a thick foamy product there millions out there my friend.. but the foam doesnt really do anything, I understand some just like it. the cling and dwell thing is a bit of a red herring really.
