Hi both - you have a new LIDL about 10mins away up A149 toward Hunstanton. Lovely coast road along A149 all the way past Wells. Adnams shop at Holkham, Blakeney Quay for a crab sandwich and cuppa. Wells Deli for coffee and cake in Wells. Loads of nice pubs along the A149 favourite of ours is Jolly Sailor Brancaster. Nice row of shops and great petrol station supermarket for fresh produce Burnham Deepdale sell nice real ales including Oyster Catcher which is on draft at jolly sailors. Also look at the hat shop in burnham market. Enjoy! Dog friendly beach at snettisham with good bird watching.
We stayed here many times with friends over the new year period and on the same pitch as you! ❤ It was about 6-7 years ago. Our 2 doggos loved the walks through the woods.
My husband and I used to stay at Sandringham but the last time we were there I broke my foot by falling down a rabbit hole! Sadly That was the end of our caravan days. Due to my husbands illness( he has since passed away) I had to drive and change to an automatic car. The people running the site were so kind they kept our van until I had to sell it. I am now looking at a Motorhome and love your very informative video diaries. I think I could manage a small van for me and my lovely chocolate lab, Figa.
Love your video to Sandrinham ccc site. We stayed there a few times , over the years. We were in that area last year and we’re travelling along A149. It was very busy when all of a sudden I had to stop for a family of ducks, crossing the road. So beware folks !!
I know the sutton bridge very well we go to searles caravan and motorhome site in Hunstanton stay in a static caravan twice a year its a lovely clean and modern site very well looked after and it is a really big site if you go that direction again i recommend it highly to you
Hi both of you and Poppy . love your videos. I have visited the area but only on a cycling Tour. I have a self build camper currently being altered inside. I have been to the South Downs Campsite and Brocklands farm, West Meon near Alton and Winchester in it this year 2021. Sandringham looks fabulous ! I am planning more trips this year and next year with this Covid out of the way hopefully I intend to take some trips up north to Scotland east side. have cycled with the CTC on the west side !!
Went to Sandringham last year. Lovely site. Lots to do in the area! We had a swarm of bees up in the trees behind us for a few days!! Lovely walks on the estate.
Just found your channel and thought to myself that looks similar to Clumber park lol 😂. We go regularly to walk there as we live in Nottingham. Hope you’re well. Sandringham looked lovely
Just caught this video, we have just returned from a 6 day stay at Sandringham site, we crossed over with your stay and were pitched on the other side of the road from you just passed the trees on the way to the toilet block. We were in our campervan 😁 was a good few days away
You brought back memories of our few days at the campground when we were doing a cycle tour around England 7 years ago. We had a lovely tour of Sandringham and the gardens. Lovrly quiet campsite. But had our first encounter with a tick which was a rather new experience for New Zealanders.
Nice video Bob. Norfolk is one of our favourite places to go to, in fact we’ve just come back from there. Really looking forward to following this tour especially the train ride from Holt to Sheringham. Both towns are beautiful as you’ll know. Thanks for sharing. 👍🚐
Hi Bob, great video, just a quick question, we are researching what we need when we come over from a caravan to a Motorhome and wondered if you use a wheel lock when at home and what’s the best one? Thanks
Hi B, J & P. We’re here too (pitch 35) . the couple who haven’t been here for 30 years. We’d forgotten how beautiful & peaceful Sandringham is - after the rain stopped yesterday we had a fantastic cycle ride along the scenic drive which is now closed to cars. It runs from just outside the campsite to the visitor centre. There were a lot of dog walkers enjoying it too and there’s a viewing platform from where you can see the sea. Tomorrow we’re off to the Cromer area. Enjoy!!
Turn right out of campsite. Left at x roads. Take the track on right with blue sign saying something like authorised access only (Sandringham staff assured us this is fine). First, short section is grass. Cross the road to continue the track and you find yourself on tarmac which takes you all the way to the house and visitor centre.
Live between Norwich and Great Yarmouth and we always like going to Sandringham it brilliant site. Dersingham garden centre do the best cakes with cupper
Hi Guys, Hope you are both well & enjoying Sandringham. Can you please tell us how you're attaching the awning to your Motorhome, whether it's to the wind out awning or throwing straps over the top? Stay Safe Kindest Matt Woodman
It's attached to the awning rail channel on the wind out awning. You can see this better in this previous video around 17:20 th-cam.com/video/5UghXd1tzAI/w-d-xo.html
@@BobEarnshawMoHo Thank you for your time. That was great. We have a similar awning & can't get the porch area between the van & main bit right. Saw your's & looks nice & taught. Hi Bob. Just looking for reviews on your site. And yours came up. They're very useful, so thank you. Regarding your price. I've just booked 4 nights nect week for £65 total Sure you're using your oap code. Must go up a lot in summer. As yours is 3yr ago.
Thanks. After 3 years I can't remember what price I said it was without watching the video, but £65 for 4 nights sounds very good. We've been using the concessionary rate for ages though. We must have been there in late August so still in high season.
Hi Bob and Jenny, are you at Sandringham now 7th September? We are at Manor Park Hunstanton, not sure if you have heard of it? Hope to see you on your travels in the area soon with Poppy.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo We hope you enjoy your last day and a safe trip to your next destination. We have enjoyed watching your you tube posts through lock down and are continuing to watch. Stay safe thank you.
Hi Both really enjoying your advice and trips. I hope to get a motorhome of sorts within the next year. Nothing grand to start with just a 2 berth. I'll start with some trips around my childhood happy memory area of Devon . Many thanks for all the uploads
Great video guys ! Sorry I’ve not commented for a while . Been busy with work and trying to get as many trips away as possible . We have done 25 nights away since the sites opened so happy I’ve managed to use the motorhome this year 😁. Hope you are all ok .👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. Just got the Avtex Tourer Two after watching your review . You should put amazon links on as I’ve spent loads on the motorhome due to your recommendations 😂. You should be getting commission 😁
Thanks for commenting. I do have Amazon links for the Tourer Two in the description of that video! I also have a blog with all the things I've tested with their Amazon links, maybe I should mention that in the video.
Thanks for the shot of Sutton bridge, have actually walked over it . Enjoy your stay at Sandringham hope the weather is good for you. 👍🏴🏴🏴🏴👍🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴👍
Just 15 minutes away from where I live Bob, get the kettle on 😀 There is a good pub just up the road (5-10min) called The Ffolkes Arms in Hillington. We are busier than normal with the lockdown and staycations. If you journey towards Fakenham on the A148 just after the aforementioned pub, you will see a left turn towards Docking. This is a good alternative road to get you to the coast leaving the queues behind. I hope you enjoy your stay 👍
I used to visit Sandringham regularly. My dog got ill with Seasonal Canine Illness after visiting Thetford Forest & Sandringham. Had her in the Vets 4 times in 8 days. I left for Gt. Yarmouth as I knew it was safe there. This time of year is the worst for that illness. Clumber Park has it as well. Check Poppy’s paws for soreness. Harvest Mites are probably the cause of the bites.
Hi Bob, Jen & Pops, enjoyed the video, especially because it's a C&CC site. We've just been on three C&CC sites & the balance they take on the arrival day seem to be incorrect. They don't seem to be giving the VAT reduction which is very annoying. Agree with you that its difficult to amend bookings with this club & very difficult to contact them. The C&M Club system seems better. Enjoy anyway. 🙋♀️🏴
Yes, their booking system does put us off booking with them, especially on longer tours. Their website says " Club has lowered its prices and will be applying the 5% VAT rate for stays booked and taken during the period 15 July 2020 to 12 January 2021." So, perhaps it depends when you booked it.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo hi Bob, they definitely make mistakes, have just come back from Ashbourne having booked after 15th July. I emailed them & have received £11 refund. Al.
Hi guys. I'm new to the hobby and just researching options for a motorhome. I notice in this video you said you had an aquaroll. Do you mind explaining how that works with a motorhome as my understanding is that caravans use them as they have 12v power on the water inlet socket for the pump but the motorhomes I've looked at don't, so how do you pump the water into the motorhome from the aquaroll. Do you also have one of those portable grey water tanks? I'm asking because if the music festivals ever start up again I'll be off grid in a field for 4-5 days at a time so the aquaroll/grey water solution would be brilliant. Also, I notice you tow a car. Can I ask why, if you're towing a vehicle anyway, you don't just tow a caravan which I've noticed are about half the price of motorhomes and don't need taxing either? Thanks Graham
On the Aquaroll, our Swift motorhome has an external 12v socket so I can use a external pump to pump water into the fresh water tank. I also have a Wastemaster for disposing of the waste water. I much prefer the flexibility of a motorhome, you have everything inside with you when you travel. As for towing the car I have a whole playlist about towing the car. BTW tax on the car is just £25 a year! th-cam.com/play/PLUi3rqw12j2q2q4KYGAnvYgnTiWI0cdiL.html
Guys, we found if you're leaving the a1 onto the a17, go to the next junction south, sends you thru a village called Coddington. Then you'll rejoin the a17 further along. Another great video tho. 😊🐶
There’s always a queue to get off the A1 onto the A46/A17, it’s a very badly designed junction. You can go further down to the next junction - Coddington turn off and take to old road to get on the A17.Also, there always seems to be lots of congestion around Kings Lynn. No toilets or showers open? I won’t be stopping at a Camping club site then.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo we are looking forward to getting out there. Brand new to this , build myself a camper van , never even capmed in a tent, so brand new to camping at 54. Good Times ahead with my wife and little beagle lilly
I surprised you didn’t call in to Brownhills Motorhome site, as you left the A1 to join the A17, they are just off the roundabout heading into Newark, but I bet you’ve been there before 😊
For a lovely beach walk for Poppy, I can highly recommend Brancaster beach which is just along from Old Hunstanton. It is huge with beautiful golden sands. There is a car park right by it. There is a shipwreck there too. For a day out, Wells Next the Sea is a lovely little coastal town which has a miniature railway, a lovely walk down to the pine forest and a pretty harbour. It isn't far from you, maybe 45 minutes. Loved the video btw 😊
I’ll second beautiful Brancaster Beach for a dog walk, but I think it might be a bit tight getting the motorhome into the car park. I could be wrong....👍👍👍
Looks like a nice site, I rarely use C & C sites now because a lot of the pitches are tight and there’s usually a lack of choice but that one seems OK. I note that the C&M club warn about some sort of seasonal illness on the Estate that affects dogs between August and November, a bit odd. Maybe just covering their backs! Have a good time.
Enjoyed your video of the area. Can recommend a walk from Hunstanton to Old Hunstanton along the beach and back along the cliff top through the Hunstanton gardens. Plenty of nice dog friendly cafes for Poppy.
Well it does give you more sites to choose from. We don't tend to use them a lot because of having to give a deposit and it's not easy to change or amend your booking.
Hi Bob, I have the same vehicle as you and I wondered when you are parked up at home do you leave the vehicle connected to 240w electricity 24-7. When we collected our new van last weekend the dealer was very vague as to what we should do when the vehicle was not in use. Any advice would be most welcome.
I've left all my Motorhomes plugged in when at home, never had a problem. Think it helps maintain the batteries in good condition. In winter I put the heating on low - 11 degrees.
You need to go to oxon hall touring park, ludlow touring park, stanmore hall touring park, riverside touring park. All of them are fantastic sites all 5 star.I went to Sandringham club site last year .I was not happy with this site at all
Poppy's starting to steel the show 😊 just come back from Norfolk, Ludham Bridge camping & motorhome site by the boards. Up where you are rspb titchwell marsh dog friendly lovely walk to the large sandy beach.
Dad said,, due to the size. Do you feel tired when you get to your destination due to other drivers? When he is towing the caravan. Twin axle he needs a beer as setting up lol. Obviously when things are open ignoring Covid. Do you use on site pubs etc x
We have been to Sandringham CAMC site several times, but not been on the CCC site. It looks lovely and peaceful. We were surprised that they did not mention the Seasonal Caninine Illness, neither at here or Clumber park, when you visited. It has been a problem for a few years now, at both of these parks , also at Thetford, Rendlesham, and a couple of others. The Animal Health Trust were doing studies, along with vets to see if they could find a cause. It is a very sudden onset illness, which sees dogs becoming very unwell, very quickly and most sadly, don't make it. 🐾🐾😢 Small dogs are more likely to be affected, too.. so please keep Poppy out of the wooded areas. Several things have been ruled out, during studies, including Alabama rot . There is lots of information about it online. Just google Seasonal Canine Illness. Take care, and enjoy East Anglia. xx
Thanks, we trying to be careful with Poppy, she's under close control on the lead, we're sticking to the paths and she's not going exploring in the undergrowth.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo Thats what we do with our girls, too.We also wash their paws when we get back to the van, as they do like to lick them! 🐾🐾🐾🐾👍🏻 If you come down to Suffolk, Southwold is nice. Car park right at the far end (overlooking Walberswick) is good for motorhomes. Lovely walk along the boats, and fresh fish available, as well as Fish and chips. 😬
If they are not going to provide facilities you would think they would reduce their price and as they are the camping and caravan club members that camp that don’t have facilities don’t have access to lots of the club sites. Enjoy and take care
Yes, I tend to agree, but their website is so complicated, I doubt they could easily change the prices for their sites with no facilities. I'm just glad they are open.
Bob Earnshaw yes I’m glad things are opening up. It’s ok for us with motorhomes or caravans but campers pay the same membership fees as us but don’t have the same access to sites
We've used both sites, CCC and CM, both are good value but we preferred the CM site because it had safer wheelchair access to Babingly social club which is on the A149 and had a 60mph speed limit, until Prince Phillips famous motor car accident. From the lane leading to the CM site it's just a short road to a pavement for the wife's electric wheelchair. The other lane from the CCC sites further along the fast road and doesn't have a pavement on the club side which necessitated crossing the fast road twice and with her guide dog. Also beware of the dogs in the woods regarding the tics they can pick up, but other than that both Sandringham sites is a lovely. The squirrels will steal your cereals and bread if left out but just consider it a form of payment for Intruding into their habitats.
Poppy picked up a nasty tummy upset in one of the forests, so be careful around autumn time with canine seasonal disorder. We are planning to go back to the CMC Sandringham site this year.

I surprised you didn’t call in to Brownhills Motorhome site, as you left the A1 to join the A17, they are just off the roundabout heading into Newark, but I bet you’ve been there before 😊
Yes been there before, but wanted to get to the site.
We love it there it's a really nice site.
Yes we like it too.
@@eyelidman09 They have their car with them so no problems there, and we can get ours in easily 👍
Thanks, maybe we can try that another time.
Doh! Bien sur. My apologies @ Jenni S.🌞🙏🌞.
Yes, where we are pitched is quite good, no one behind us. Yes read about that seasonal illness, a bit strange.
Enjoyed your video of the area. Can recommend a walk from Hunstanton to Old Hunstanton along the beach and back along the cliff top through the Hunstanton gardens. Plenty of nice dog friendly cafes for Poppy.
Thanks, we drove towards Hunstanton yesterday, but gave up because of the traffic jams!
Bob Earnshaw what a shame because it was a busy Sunday, usually better in the week. Enjoy the rest of your trip.
Is it worth joining the camping and caravan club if I got the Motorhome and caravan club all ready ?
Well it does give you more sites to choose from. We don't tend to use them a lot because of having to give a deposit and it's not easy to change or amend your booking.
Nice little cl site near Lincoln, wfii spot on
Hi Bob, I have the same vehicle as you and I wondered when you are parked up at home do you leave the vehicle connected to 240w electricity 24-7.
Bob Earnshaw Thanks Bob that is very useful 👍
Love that site may try and talk my husband into going there at the end of the month 👍🏻🥂
Another great video.👍🖖🏴🏴🏴
You need to go to oxon hall touring park, ludlow touring park, stanmore hall touring park, riverside touring park. All of them are fantastic sites all 5 star.I went to Sandringham club site last year .I was not happy with this site at all
Hi Bob & Jenny,
What made you call the Motorhome Thor? 👍
I’ll watch the video now.😊
Thor Heyerdahl - The Kon-Tiki Expedition.
Bob Earnshaw
I never that of that.
😀

Poppy's starting to steel the show 😊 just come back from Norfolk, Ludham Bridge camping & motorhome site by the boards. Up where you are rspb titchwell marsh dog friendly lovely walk to the large sandy beach.
She always steals the show! Is that the Norfolk Broads Caravan and Motorhome Club Site, used to be Broadlands? Near the Dog Inn.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo yes that's the one
Dad said,, due to the size. Do you feel tired when you get to your destination due to other drivers? When he is towing the caravan. Twin axle he needs a beer as setting up lol. Obviously when things are open ignoring Covid. Do you use on site pubs etc x
The easiest drives are always the ones with no traffic. What's tiring is having to think for other drivers who don't think!
If you take the next junction of the A1 it cuts that tail back out
Thanks, we won't do that junction again!
Love your priority, coffee first. I’m the same.👍
We have been to Sandringham CAMC site several times, but not been on the CCC site.
OK another one for the list LOL
The joys of the A17 ..... only disadvantage of living in Norfolk
We always used to have to contend with the A11 to get to Norfolk.
Always stop the postman for directions
Please get your brakes looked at, they shouldn’t be making that squeaky noise.👍🏻
They have been looked at, did you miss that video? They are fine. BTW this was two years ago!
