    The only thing I would have done differently would have been to not make the shore mist so heavy... I'd want to see the line between the water and land better.... otherwise one of the best videos to explain how to delete things in Affinity!! Yup, I'm your newest subscriber!

    • @MikeAffinityTuts
      @MikeAffinityTuts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Dave funny you say that as when I first did the picture I did leave the mist a little lighter and I could see the shore line. In the tutorial I got a little carried away with it I think. Thank you so much for your support and thanks for watching and commenting it’s very much appreciated. Thanks again ...Mike

    Looking into affinity as it's half price ATM. Looks good. One thing I couldn't have is the dark mist in the sky area where the hill joins the water on the left. You put it in but you can see the tool shape where you painted in the mist. I'd have stopped short of the hill meeting the sky edge on left. But still ... you vanished a boat! Crazy!

      Hi Adam thanks for watching, I was a little heavy handed with the mist for sure. Affinity is an amazing programme considering the price and its just getting better all the time. Thanks again for your comment and for taking the time to watch..... Let me know how you go with Affinity if you do get it. .... Mike

    The video was very instructive and easy to follow, well done. However the mist you added as a final touch was a real spoiler, it made the overall picture look so unconvincing.

    • @MikeAffinityTuts
      @MikeAffinityTuts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Vincent yes I think I was a little heavy handed on the mist. I guess the beauty of a tutorial is it gives you not just what to do but what not to do lol.In normal circumstances I would back of the opacity to your liking. Thanks for watching and commenting 😊

    Hello Michael, what is the different between adjusting in photo persona and develop persona? Thank you mate. We really enjoy your tutorial.

    • @MikeAffinityTuts
      @MikeAffinityTuts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Roka here is really Good explanation form Robin Whalley you can find him here
      The Photo Personal fine him herelenscraft.co.uk/photo-editing-tutorials/affinity-photo-personas-explained/
      This Persona is the main editing workspace in Affinity Photo. It’s also the default Persona when editing an image. Typically, you use this Persona if you want to perform tasks like removing or moving objects in an image. If you want to apply an adjustment to an image to enhance its colour or make it black and white.
      The Develop Persona
      Earlier we said that the Photo Persona was the default editing Persona. The exception to this is when opening a RAW file. You must convert a RAW file to an image format before you can edit it. This conversion’s performed in the Photo Persona. If open a RAW file in Affinity Photo, you’ll find yourself automatically in the Develop Persona. You can then only switch to another Persona by clicking the “Develop” button in the top left of the interface. This converts the RAW file to an image format.

    Good one mate; few tips in there to add to my work flow
    Something I noticed with the great way of added mist that others might have missed and might try.
    Looks a too consistent so perhaps some very light masking to add some variations in the mist and to show just a hint of the shore line
    Great treatment of a **** photo (sorry) :lol:
    thank you

    Nice video. May I ask why you did the B&W conversion in the Develop persona rather than adding a B&W layer in the Photo persona?

    • @MikeAffinityTuts
      @MikeAffinityTuts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No real reason At all Fred, other than the Develop persona has all the adjustments in one place. Sometimes easier than adding multiple adjustments in the Photo Persona. Just another way to achieve the results you are looking for.
      Thanks for watching and commenting I really do appreciate it very much .....Mike

    I am having difficulty understanding the steps at 2:48 where you inverted the selection and started using the eraser tool ... Why would there be any information to erase on the inverted selection after you've just copied and pasted it out of the original background?

    • @MikeAffinityTuts
      @MikeAffinityTuts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      HI Mathew I inverted the selection so that the eraser brush only effects anything on the outside of the jetty selection. If i did not invert the selection the eraser would erase the jetty itself.
      I hope I have explained this and it makes sense. so basically I am only erasing anything outside of the jetty selection ...Mike

    Another great and informative tutorial to help this anal retentive old fart get rid of old believes that he should not touch or change his pictures. I enjoy your calmness and sense of humour and….. the speed-up sound. 😀

      Thanks Claude I understand what you are staying as I think I float in between both worlds a little bit. I think of it now as photography meets art. I know it’s not for everyone but I get a certain satisfaction when i transform a photograph. Believe me though it not always for the best and the original photo is the better option . Thank you for being such a great supporter of my channel I appreciate it very much .
