    This is so helpful, because some of the flow is different than Photoshop which I was more used to. I'll definitely subscribe and follow your channel.

    Dude - this is great!
    You are the first guy to explain what opacity, and flow is, others just say set it to 100 or 20 - why?
    Now I have a bit of an idea

    • @bydesignmethod
      @bydesignmethod  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      To be honest I'm not sure why that is suggested! On both the paintbrush and clone stamp I generally keep the hardness at zero, flow somewhere in the middle and constantly adjust the opacity depending on what I'm doing. All the settings are there to dial in exactly what you're going for. Thanks for watching Digmen!

    This is great thanks - somewhere along the way I lost the option for the current layer and below - do you know how I would get that back for another time - I fiddled around with views etc but the version had just upgraded so i just had to busk it in the end. 😁

      Hey Carol! I would always try resetting the studio back to default by selecting Window > Studio > Reset Studio

    What's going on DM! I had to come by for a visit to do a brush-up on Clone Brushes real quick and since I have the majority of your content saved in my favorities, it wasn't too hard at all to pull this up again. I see that you've been out of the spotlight for a few months now. Hope you and yours are doing just fine going into the new year. Hope you're able to come back in the near future and grace us with more of your spot on tutorials my man. Have a Great 2024!!

    Is there a way to get the slection cross to be much closer to the actual stamp. It always seems a long way away to me

    • @bydesignmethod
      @bydesignmethod  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's a great question, I've had some success by 'long pressing' the location (i'm on a mac so holding down option for a few seconds in the spot I want and then clicking with my mouse) but it's not ideal in my opinion.

    I use a mix between the inpainting tools and the clone brush for my 360 photos to remove the stand and other elements. Never thought of using a new pixel layer and use the current and beneath layer 🤦🏻‍♂️. But... I'm thinking that if I change the view to live equirectangular view, the new pixel layer probably will not follow that change... don't know if I'm making myself understood... well... I'll try this on Monday, and if I get that (expected) problem I'll post here a screencast with it ;) but for "normal" photos, that's a great, great tip :) thanks!!

    Another great, well explained video, keep them coming!
    In the 2nd example the source and the brush are moving in opposite directions...what's happening there?

      Hey Steve! I think I had my brush flipped when I tried it on my own (before recording!) it doesn't show in the menu but good eye!!

    I was going thru my vast library of saved YT Affinity tutorials to see which ‘Clone Brush Tool’ video would be able to help me out with a project that I’m working on right now. After pulling up the few that I have, I was still stuck and wondering why wasn't this stupid thing acting right for me. As I was going through them all, I of course, kept seeing yours pop up over on the right side of my screen and then all of a sudden it dawned on me that even though I’ve seen that thumbnail of your tutorial a gazillion times over the past month or so, it wasn't part of my saved collection. Why you ask?? Because I never got around to watching the doggone thing! I’m sitting here like… ‘How in the H - E - Double Hockey Sticks is that even possible????’ 🤣I click on it and about 2 minutes in, I figured out what my problem was (didn’t have a layer selected).
    Needless to say… As one of the original members of the DM Gang (even though there is no such thing) I feel so ashamed of myself. 👾
