  • In this informative video, Dr. David Wood, a renowned interventional radiologist, sheds light on the differences between internal and external hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids are a common issue faced by many people, but understanding the differences between internal and external hemorrhoids is crucial in determining the right treatment plan.
Internal hemorrhoids are located inside the rectum and are not visible from the outside. They often cause painless rectal bleeding and are typically discovered during a routine physical examination or during the screening for another condition. On the other hand, external hemorrhoids are located outside the rectum and can be felt as lumps or bumps around the anus. They can cause pain, itching, and bleeding, and can often be seen with the naked eye.
Dr. Wood explains that internal hemorrhoids are often treated with lifestyle changes such as adding fiber to your diet, increasing fluid intake, and engaging in regular physical activity. In severe cases, internal hemorrhoids may require medical procedures such as hemorrhoid artery embolization
External hemorrhoids, on the other hand, may require more invasive treatments such as surgical excision or a procedure called hemorrhoidectomy. In some cases, external hemorrhoids can also be treated with minimally invasive procedures such as injection sclerotherapy or infrared coagulation.
Dr. Wood emphasizes the importance of seeking medical attention if you experience any symptoms of hemorrhoids, as prompt treatment can help prevent complications and promote quick healing. He also provides tips on how to prevent hemorrhoids from developing, including maintaining a healthy diet, avoiding prolonged sitting or standing, and keeping the anus clean and dry.
In conclusion, internal and external hemorrhoids are two distinct conditions with different causes, symptoms, and treatment options. By understanding the differences between internal and external hemorrhoids, you can make informed decisions about your health and seek the right treatment for your specific needs.
So, if you or someone you know is dealing with hemorrhoids, be sure to watch this video and learn from the expert, Dr. David Wood. And don't forget to like, comment, and share this video to spread the word and help others understand the difference between internal and external hemorrhoids.

I assume you already know that one solution is to minimize the chances by eating pears, plums, Psyllium husk. etc. Drink about 4 litres of water (not all soft drinks or juice, etc.). Basically, avoid foods that are very concentrated like a beef patty; what are needed are bulk-forming foods like brown rice with salad, etc. The other solution is to learn to ignore, if it is in a small amount. There are other solutions, but they are a bit extreme, and not to be done on a regular basis.

There could be many reasons. But, if you have a lot of it, you should see your doctor and ask about endometriosis--to rule it out.
