Your channel is new to me and so is sewing but I don't have the anxiety watching you like other channels. You are so relatable and make me feel like I can make something great without having to be great at sewing!
So beautifully done! As I was watching your channel, my 13 year old son asked me what I was watching and I showed him… I said, “ look, she’s making a really cute bag from scratch! What a talent to have, right?!” and he actually said, “that’s pretty cool!” 🥰 I told him that I had a friend, who is really gifted at quilting, and creating beautiful pieces, gift me a similar bag from scratch using fabric with music notes, since my profession was in music. That was over 15 years ago, and I still have that bag to this day, and it has held up beautifully. Thank you for sharing, and thank you for sharing your gift! 🥰🥰🥰
Remind your son that boys can sew fun things, too! When I was in junior high school, boys and girls all had a semester in home ec and a semester in wood shop!
@@catobear9 Yes! He actually does too. He’s had a semester in home ec., where he has sewn a few things. He made a cute little bear, and he has also cooked in his class and brought home some cookies and muffins they made in class!🥰
About 6 months ago I got burned out with sewing. I made my daughter's wedding dress and bridesmaids dresses. Thank you for reintroducing the joy of sewing to me!
I love your enthusiasm so much! There’s a lady on here knocking off your videos with the dish mats, with a level of pep that is over the top and fake sounding. But you are so authentic and it shows. This project is so cute and the use of new products in a recording is brave but appreciated!
OMG I just love love love ur videos. If I’m feeling blue or upset, all I need is to play ur videos n I feel much better. You have such a gentle manner of teaching by making people who are new to sewing feel OK about attempting any of ur projects. Plus I love ur laugh. So cute. Keep up ur happiness n laughing. Also there is an Etsy lady named Ledine who has amazing scrap bags of very high end cottons. I have ordered 4 of them n they are wonderful. I got them on a destash sale so they were a great bargain. Check it out.
When looking at the lining on the finished bag it looks as though an army of cats are spewing from the abyss! The finished bag is so cute and is totally on my bucket list to make this week!❤
You could piece the sides of the liner with the extra/leftover cat fabric. I love how you explain different things you can do. The fact you say do what you want it's your project. No judgment about cats. I'm allergic to cats and dogs. Thank you for making me feel comfortable with doing different projects.
You are a great teacher with amazing skills, but more than anything you are an inspiration and SO much fun! Thank you for sharing your joy, creative gift, and yourself with us!
Chelsea you are so amazing! Your energy, your creativeness, and your sweet encouragement make all of your tutorials so compelling. I am a huge fan of yours and love how you use the scraps. Scrappy is Happy! You are a bright spot in my day.
Hi Chelsea, love the bag, Maybe on a future video, you can demonstrate how to sew the magnetic closure. I truly have enjoyed all the videos, you have recently posted.
Another GREAT video. I love the bag, the fabrics are perfect and I love the size of the bag. The four in boxed corners are perfect for that size bag. The pockets will be very handy, the webbing and cat fabric are perfect! Thank you for sharing your talents, you’re a great teacher!
I love that bag and your enthusiasm throughout making it and then being done.......oh my goodness!!! I was just as thrilled as you were when you were coming to the finish line. I wish you were my neighbor!!!! God bless you!!!!
That's what I keep telling my husband! I swear I'm not going to buy any more until I use what I have...including the bit that arrived in the post today!
"Sew" beautifully done! It is amazing what you can do with scraps. It's a cute bag and you can do a lot of stuff with it. I can see heading to the grocery store with that bag. If your daughter takes it for T&Ting she'll be the envy of every child out there. Great Job! Your a wonderful teacher you take the time to demonstrate each phase.
One more thing I would like to say when I see your name that you posted I get really happy. You have a fabulous way about you that draws people to you. So glad I found you. Blessings💗
While I'm not a quilter, one of my best friends is, so I will pass this along to her. She's in her 80s will love it. However, I'm seeing this as such a great universal tote. If you made it with general fabric, not holiday themed, it could serve so many purposes. Imagine one of your kids going on an overnight and just throwing all their stuff in the tote. Or maybe you're going to help out at the school, and you need to bring some sweaters and snacks. I mean, I could just go on and on. I'm 74 & I was a stay at home, mom, so I totally see so many opportunities here. Even for myself and my husband, now when we go places, it seems like we always grab a light jacket, & other things to tote, along with us. Also, you wouldn't have to quilt it necessarily if you're not a quilter. You could just skip to a regular piece of fabric. I'm sure you mentioned that, but I didn't hear it. I also think the magnetic closures are perfect. Anyway, great job as always, I love it. It could be a little above my skill set, but I might be willing to give it a try. Thanks so much. 🧵🪡🏖Kj in Tampa Bay 🤗
I love this bag, I can't stop watching your videos!!!!! Thank you for helping us beginners, for staying so positive, and always reminding us not to put so much pressure on ourselves. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
My mom taught me to take a picture and look at it (bag, quilt etc.) that way. You'd be surprised how much it helps to really see the whole piece! :) I'm always looking for a new tote idea and this is great! Similar to one I did one awhile back using a charm pack - 4 rows of 4 for each panel and then 4 pieces for each strap - leaving you only 2 squares of the charm pack left - super easy and fun way to use a charm pack ;) I love your channel - new subscriber here
Chelsea, what a great bag! You did it again, awesome video. Thank you so much for all your kind words and inspiration! Hope your daughter has fun trick or treating! 😊
Super cute! Love the fabrics you used - perfect! I’m not a cat person either, but the fabric really dies work well with the rest of it! Great tutorial for beginners - you do a great job removing all the fear & doubt!
What could be fun and useful would be to put pockets on both sides using different colors, perhaps orange on the other side. This would give you more organization and let you know automatically which pocket side things have been assigned to. Phone, glasses, pens, tissue packets, etc. thanks for your video and craftiness. ❤❤❤
I love it!!! And I must say ,I can totally relate to the excitement you feel when your almost done your creation, I'm a crocheter,(learning to sew now) and the feeling is absolutely amazing. A natural high.
I learned how to sew when I was in 7th grade and have been sewing ever since, but you have taught me so much more and how to sew on a budget. Thank you so much for all your inspirations. Love watching you every time you upload a video.
OH M6 GOODNESS!!! I absolutely LOVE this. You are so great at explaining all the details. Also, it is so fun that you always saw that this is your world and you can do whatever you want....thanks for sharing❤❤❤💕
@@shesewsseams I do love it. I am looking for a new full size iron (I already have a hot pink mini in my cart😊) any recommendations? Keep making the fun stuff❤🎉
This is so cute! Definitely made me want to get back to my quilting room. I took a break from quilting to learn amigurumi and I've been crocheting pretty much ever since. But I have probably 30 charm square packs in my stash - I'm sure i could make several of these bags!
You have a great sence of creating the contrast pieces putting togethermakes it look like totally a beautiful art work .its nice to watch your form of fabric art work creation. You are a very talented lady.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
i’m so glad i found your channel! i’m learning thru youtube & i was able to make my first bag with a dish drying mat thanks to you!! im currently trying to make a tote & following your tutorial 🥰 i hope it comes out fine!
Chelsea!! You out did yourself in this video! I love this bag and it is so adorable! Thank you for showing alternative to closing the top with snaps I love zippers don’t get me wrong, but every bag does not need a zipper! I am hesitant with pockets. You explain how to make the so easy peasy. I have no idea why I was so afraid! I love your sweat down to earth personality and approach to sewing. My next adventure is make PJ bottoms.. 😱 Thank you ❤❤🎃🎃
So glad I ran across your channel! I found your tutorial very easy to follow and enjoyable to watch. I am going to have to keep my eyes open for this kind of foam
Beautiful! Although I didn't use foam, I've made similar for my five grandkids. They each have their 9-patch, trick-or-treat bags. The insides are a neutral, like something with polka-dots. That way they can turn them inside out and use them any day of the year.
You are such a good teacher! I’ve been reluctant to make a large tote because the inside out part confuses me. After watching your tutorial, I think I can tackle it now. Thank you, Chelsea!

So cute! I'm going to make some, but put a big zipper to close it. I'll use it as a purse.
I always take a picture in color and black/white. You see things that you would not see otherwise.
This is great! I didn't think about black and white! My mom just recently got me taking pictures and it's been a life saver.
@susandill1880 I struggle with color values. I can quickly see what colors "read" as the same. Easy way for me to choose fabrics for quilts.
