My mother started Me sewing about 70 years ago on her singer treadle machine. When I got to high school my home ec teacher was beyond a perfectionist and made sewing miserable. In subsequent years I once again learned the joy of sewing and people like you make it so much fun. You make it feel like a group of close friends getting together to work on a project. Keep up the great work and continue to be one of the greatest leaders we have in sewing today
I just found your channel and love these tutorials. I always tell people that ask "why not just buy it?" .....because mine is one of a kind and no one else has it.
Plus… we have brains and hands to use them, develop skills, invent new things. People who just buy everything… don’t put any personal effort in anything, usually are the ones depressed and unhappy.
@@trish7440 With the industrialization lots of good things happened, no doubt about that ! But also, lots of good things are getting lost, like the people’s skills to provide for themselves, in that way becoming dependent on stores goods. On the first glance nothing is wrong with that. But older people know better. The ones in control can raise prices to the point things are not affordable anymore to us. Also, things can disappear from stores in crisis, like natural disaster, war or like. It’s always good to know to cook from scratch, to sew things for family, any domestic skill is a treasure for humanity.
I LOVE the joy you exude during your videos. I am 62 and have sewn minimally most of my life but always by the seat of my pants. Using things that I have or upcycled is my fav. Recently, I decided to learn to sew 'correctly' and have been buying loads of stuff to help me. I am learning that things don't have to be so hard when you have the right tools, like the walking foot, for example. I hope to find my joy in this rather than frustration. Please continue with an occasional upcycle and easy peasy tutorial for those if us trying to do better. God Bless you for being able to accomplish these tasks with four kids and a house and home to take care of.
I’m 74yo and been sewing since I was 8yo. You are making crafting/sewing sew much fun!! Thank you 👏🏻👏🏻🌹 … and I love your giggle!!! Absolutely adorable bag, BTW 🌹
Also just turned 74 😅. I have a little bit of sewing knowledge and quite a bit of time & desire now. I'm trying to get up to speed on doing some of these fun projects. I wish I lived near her so I could run over and go "help" when I get stuck !! 😂 🏖Kj in Tampa Bay 🤗 🧵🪡
I have been sewing for 50+ years and did not know the walking foot had that little hole in the back and what it is for, I never knew, you are such an asset to you tube, especially for beginners, and obviously for us veterans too, great teaching skills.
Your videos are fun, you are delightfully happy and you don’t take yourself too seriously and most of all you have tons of fun I really enjoy watching you.
Yes, I need pockets! When did slide my phone in, one for pens and pencils, one for my cards holder, one for my sunglasses, one for my sanitizer. And stuff like that.
I’ve also been sewing for 50 years. You’ve got some really cute first time projects and your encouragement to new sewers is terrific. I love your personality. You make me smile (and I just might make one of you bags). Keep up the great work. 😊
Hi sweet heart I am 64 years old and I absolutely love your channel and I like the way you show how to do things I love the dollar tree very much God bless you and keep up your great work
Thank you for making this so easy to understand. I can do things I never, ever would have thought I could. I love the Dollar Tree projects; I can make beautiful gifts for my friends and family and not have to spend a huge amount of money. You're a dream!!!!
I am 71 years old and this is one of the best videos I have ever watched and subscribed to. You have a great personality and well suited for instruction. By the way I am so going to make a bunch of these bags for stocking stuffers for Christmas. Thanks for your efforts!
You're very welcome, there are so many ways to cut expenses with sewing and it's good to share when we find them. In today's economy especially, so I appreciate that you see the value in sharing. It really blesses my heart.
Didn't even know DT had fat quarters until I stumbled on your dish mat bag vid. OMG! As if my fat quarter obsession wasn't bad enough I can get them cheaper than Walmart.
I’ve been sewing for 50 years Your tutorials are spot on Keep doing them Love your method of teaching, very ez to follow You have a great vibe girl) Xxx Gail in AZ
I'm so glad I found your channel. I haven't tried any of your patterns yet but I plan on doing so soon. I love your personality and I love your creative and fun ideas. Keep it up!
I just found you a few days ago. I am so geeked to see what you are going to do next! I like the way you explain the reason why you do some the steps! I love the options you give! Your attitude is great! Your ideas great! You had me at….”let’s see if this will work”! Takes all the pressure off a newbie sewer. Thanks for your videos!
One time I made a wallet as little pouch for one of my granddaughters. The guinea pig fabric lined up. Head of guinea pig flopped over by the flap onto the body. On both pieces. I laughed and laughed.
Great job! Love this project and you’ve inspired me to make one. I went to dollar tree this week already to buy the stuff for the bee bag you made. Thank you. I’m glad to see young women taking up the craft of sewing. My mother taught me to sew and I’ve been sewing for over 40 plus years.
☺ So far, this is my 2nd video of yours and I am absolutely in love with your ADORABLE personality ! ❤ I have been making purses since I was in my 20's but not had ANY TIME to sew in 3.5 years. 😢 Now I may have a chance to put my sewing machine on my desk next month. 🙏🏻 I have not been ANYWHERE except the grocery store in 3.5 years so I am DYING to go to a Dollar tree to get some supplies to make some gifts. Hopefully they have one in Las Vegas, Nevada. 🙏🏻 Sewing has always been my passion.
I love how it turned out 🥰 it doesn't look like dollar tree materials. It is nice and cute 👍 thank you for doing this tutorial 😊 I'm now a fan of yours 😊
The other MAJOR point to your fantastic tutorials is after the fact of adding up the $ amount to making these great purses you have the knowledge in your tool chest and grab scrap fabric in the future-(which is what I think your goal is ) and just go crazy !! I like using old clothing I might want go donate or find some great fabric at a yard sale that is already a shirt or dress or sheet etc and repurpose it ❤Your videos are just FANTASTIC 🎉⭐️⭐️⭐️💫✨️🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I just found you and boy am I happy. I have a large family with many grown grandkids. You have given me so many useful ideas to make for all. Thank you.❤
Pockets, please! Thank you, thank you! I'm 65 and have been sewing since I was 12 but hit a dry spell for the last few years your videos have made me want to sew again! ❤❤❤❤❤
I was thinking the same thing! They make foam posterboard that could be encased in a matching or another coordinating fabric for a divider? These bags are wonderful stash-busting ideas!!
Very creative bag with an amazing result. We don't have Dollar Tree over here in Australia, and even the 'cheap' suppplies cost four to five times more than yours. Thank you for sharing your skills and enthusiasm.❤ Sydney 🇦🇺
You make sewing so easy to follow and so much fun! I'm totally becoming obsessed with your channel and this bag gives me a Vera Bradley vibe and I LOVE Vera Bradley 😂.
You are both fun and hilarious! Your detailed teaching approach is spot on for beginners and a cinch for more “seasoned” sewers/crafters. I agree with other viewers in regard to your personality. You are vivacious and crazy fun 😊♥️ Wish it were a TH-cam law that only kind fun-loving comments were allowed & that negative comments would self-destruct upon pushing the send button. Keep sending us fun useful projects…you’re the best! ❤
I happened to be watching TH-cam videos last night and BAM……Chelsea came on. I haven’t stopped watching you since Chelsea. You are a breath of fresh air. And, I am watching you from Australia. 🇦🇺 you should come for a holiday. Thank you for your videos. ❤
Chelsea I have been following you on instagram. I just love how you can go to the dollar tree and find things to sew and make awesome things with. I am on a fixed income and this is totally awesome. I can’t afford to go out and buy a new bag for 40 or even 20. You have got me back into sewing. Ty so much from the bottom of my heart
That is the most adorable bag! You could never buy a bag from the dollar tree because the homemade one has much more durability than the DT quality. Absolutely amazing.

I LOVE this! What a great idea. I would have never thought to use a drying mat. I’ve used the placemats before but this is a great idea. Gotta go to Dollar Tree now. Thank you so much. Will be following along to see all your other great ideas. Your teaching style is great, too.

My sister always says, 'Why buy it for $12.99 when I can make it for $100'. Lol

I, too love her giggle! But help me out here. Does it sound like Wilma Flintstones or Betty Rubbles giggle??? 😂
Betty, from the movie.
Okay, let’s consider it (the walking for) like four wheel drive for the sewing machine! That is awesome and accurate! Love it
I have been sewing for 50+ years and did not know the walking foot had that little hole in the back and what it is for, I never knew, you are such an asset to you tube, especially for beginners, and obviously for us veterans too, great teaching skills.
Glad it was helpful!
You bring a "breath of freshness" to fun sewing!! Love your smile and creative attitude! Fun to watch!

Your videos are fun, you are delightfully happy and you don’t take yourself too seriously and most of all you have tons of fun I really enjoy watching you.

Just knot the ends of the rope. Then put tabs on the bag that the rope slides through. Addicted to your tutorials. LOL😂
Yes, I need pockets! When did slide my phone in, one for pens and pencils, one for my cards holder, one for my sunglasses, one for my sanitizer. And stuff like that.
That’s what I thought exactly!
