- When I was leaving CEBU, Philippines I didn't really know what to expect when it came to the airport. But walking in I was blown away the structure and style of everything was modern and so amazing. So I decided to pick the camera up straight away and record my impressions walking around the CEBI international air port.

Terminal 2 is International and it’s fairly new. It’s a stunning airport! Safe travels 🙏

The multi-awarded and internationally renowned, privately operated Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) is the only World-class airport in the Philippines and one of the best in Asia.
The Construction of a new terminal 2 at the airport began in June 2015. Designated as Terminal 2, the facility was opened to passengers in July 2018. The new terminal increased the airport's capacity from 4.5 million to 12.5 million travellers.
On February 15th 2023, Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) was named the "Best Airport" in the Asia-Pacific region in the "Under 5 million Passengers Category" at the Routes Asia Award 2023 held in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
And on February 2019, MCIA Terminal 2 won the "Completed Buildings-Transport Category" at the World Architecture Festival. MCIA claimed fame when it defeated Singapore’s Jewel Changi, touted as the “best airport in the world,” at the World Architecture Festival 2019 held in Amsterdam.

Philippine airports is far more better than some major airports in the US. I have been in the US and have traveled to other states as well and the airports is so old. If we have to compare china japan singapore airports to the US, US airports are obsolete and very much behind in terms of technology.

I disagree...there are 13,513 total number of Airports in the U.S., they have the most advanced technology in the world. Singapore has only 2-Intl. Airport. If the 2-airport damaged by earthquake or typhoon...singapore is done.

Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) is the second largest airport in the Philippines. It serves more than 12 million foreign and local passengers yearly, making it the second busiest airline hub in the country.
The Mactan-Cebu International Airport has been operated and funded by a private corporation, the GMR Megawide, since 2014, and in September 2022, the Cebu-based Aboitiz InfraCapital purchased a 33.33% stake on GMR-Megawide Cebu Airport Corporation. Aboitiz will completely take full control of the operations of the airport by 2024.

Heard it was uk based company did the project but the engineers who worked in the airport construction were indians . In 2017/18 my friends who met few of them said this .. i used to live in cebu from 2017-21 one of our filipino aunt also said this and those engineers used to stay in her house during the construction time, and said they were really proud of the output .. good times 😊.

I think this airport should be compared to what will be the eventual New Manila International Airport in Bulacan.

The upcoming new airport in Bulacan will be designed for 100 million passengers annually, so its overall interior and exterior design will also be grand in scale. Compare that future airport with similar size airports, not MCIA. MCIA's designed capacity is only 12 million. The newly opened Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport in Siem Reap, Cambodia is more comparable to MCIA as both airports have identical size and capacity.
