Leaving Cebu Island in the Philippines was heartbreaking! We have enjoyed every second of getting to explore the beautiful Philippines and befriend the most friendliest Filipinos. We though leaving from Mactan International Airport on two hours of sleep AND overnight was going to be pretty rough. However, we were so wrong. Mactan International Airport in Cebu had some of the nicest Filipino people we have meet! After feeling the love, we checked in and went straight to the Mactan International Airport Premium Plaza Lounge to try and get our caffeine fix. Join us on our last hours in the Philippines as we meet Mactan Airport's friendliest Filipinos!

Absolutely spot on: I am a Lounge rat and traveling without stopping in a lounge is a deal breaker for me! That Plaza Premium Lounge in Mactan looks amazing.

Hello Ahmed, we absolutely loved the Philippines! If you can, you must visit the Philippines 😁 I would imagine you can get to both places from Cebu, we just haven’t tried it yet.

Me a cebuano: Laughs in the dark
In the Philippines, being 2 hours early will work in your favor tremendously. Even as a kid, I hated 'Filipino Time' which is a polite way of saying 'late as usual'. I try my best to go to airports and events hours early to avoid traffic and dedicate more time just enjoying the underrated, natural beauty of the Philippines. You did great by coming in early and was rewarded by a nice airport experience.
Lol we definitely learned to run on Philippine time 😂 it’s very similar to Hispanic time...ie what Annette runs on lol

Big big big tip when your in PH, always come to the airport early if you have a flight. Never underestimate traffic and delays, because you'll literally get caught up in this thing we Filipino time. The person who drove you was wise. Thank him. Hahaha.

yes you are correct! filipino and cuban food is very similar, I was in Miami and ate at a cuban restaurant with my Canadian girlfriend and lo and behold, amazing! I know most of the food.. we have the same food! 😁

Yes, Plaza Premium Lounge is the same lounge you see across some of the world's international airports like London Heathrow, Hong Kong, Seoul, etc. but none in the USA and Africa. It's based in London, UK. Plaza Premium Lounge has two locations in Mactan-Cebu Airport - in Terminal 2 (Departures Level) and Terminal 1 (Arrivals level). There is also Aerotel Transit rooms inside T2 (outside secured area) which is operated by the same company.
Is that lounge for free?
@@bashersbeware It's free if, you're flying on business or carrying one of the travel cards like Chase reserve, black card or priority pass.

I've been to the old Mactan International Airport and the new one and I was super impressed when I saw the new one(cuz who wouldn't be)

That is terminal 2 for international flights but the old terminal 1 is already completely renovated and it looks so new and stunning too. Very modern and high-tech in faciities.
How cool! It does make sense because you can get to a lot of other islands from Cebu 😁

@@ChaseforAdventure Mactan Cebu Airport Terminal 2 is not newly renovated but newly built terminal. The one you were referring to that was newly renovated is Terminal 1 which now serves domestic flights.

Amazing, i have been through the old terminal numerous times but until now, not the new terminal.Its fantastic. My wife and i are currently semi permanently in New Zealand, and we have property at northern Cebu. My very close friend is a senior Commander in the Aviation Security Police at Mactan, he will be very familiar with the new layout. We will experience this next time we vacation there in Cebu. The old terminal has undergone a total makeover in its interior and some exterior parts and you'd be surprised the next time you come to Cebu as the old terminal (now exclusively domestic) looks like a truly international feel to it though it only serves domestic flights. It also has its own Plaza Premium Lounge located in Arrival level.

2016 we got to cebu at 1am and our next flight was 6am so we were practically on the floor, a lounge would have been ideal.
