Great vid. I’m doing a helmet with multiple candy colors. I intended to mix 4040 bleed checker with all of my candies , would that be enough to stop any bleeding or would I need to spray 4040 directly over each candied area ? Thanks !!
Man I've been out of the loop for too long. This looks awesome Simon. I've got a life size R2D2 head to spray up to look like metal... will shoot an order over to you for some of this soon

What about metallic flake on top of the candy? What would i need to mix to do flake on top, or what combination would be good to get the same color saturation/reflection but also get some flake in there?
I bought a pile of Createx candy and other Metallics along with spaz chrome kit. I’ll be painting Lexan rc bodies from the inside. I have 4040 and 4030 and normal reducer and fast reducer and some other brand of clear sealer… I know the candy needs to be pancaked with bleed checker before and after color layering to prevent bleed & blotch. I also know the chrome itself does not hold the same shine if clear coat direct over the chrome am I right? I noticed you didn’t use checker or sealer over the chrome prior to candy… did you seal the candy with anything prior to clear coat? Since I’m painting the RC body shells from the inside, I obviously do not need a clearcoat because the plastic has a shine of its own. But because I will be performing custom paint jobs in reverse order I wanted to ask if you had any practice with painting RC bodies and these paints. Because the first material to be laid onto the Lexan plastic is the candy color, and then chrome and then black. Now… Should I use a transparent sealer on the Lexan body before shooting the candy and will I also be using the bleed checker or sealer after the candy color right before spraying the Crome over the candy? I’m going to practice on glass or some other plastic first bcs this paint is expensive as you know lol and the rc bodies I have are $100+ each.
All I have is a 15 gal compressor... What's a good gun for a beginner... i want to anodize my motorcycle forks.... or is there a spray can version I could try ?
Do you think this might work on 3D prints? The prints don’t tend to have a super-smooth surface, but I’m wondering if a thickish primer would smooth them out sufficiently to facilitate a shiny result?
Do you have a recommendation on how to apply a chrome finish to automotive components? Mainly grille and door handles. Trying to get my ride to conform to current trend of Impalas, Altimas, Hondas having shiny door handles and trunk lid strips.
Just a quick question I’ve watched many vids of yours and they got me into art, Anyway I am looking into spraying a motorcycle tank and never used top coat, when do I remove my mask from the gas cap once I have applied the clear coat! Luving the chrome that’s amazing,

I just bought a new Beretta gun. Slide is Stainless which I intend to polish to a mirror finish but, the frame is anodized aluminum that I want to shine like the slide. Will it work on the gun frame? Can you polish this out to get closer to a mirror finish before the candies?
Hi Matt. No I would not recommend trying to polish the quicksilver as it is a base coat and will not polish.
