    Been painting crank baits during the winter seasons here in the north east U.S. Just picked up some Candy today and had no idea how to use it application wise. Your video was very useful and got the creative juices flowing. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!! Got a subscriber here now and a thumbs up!

    I would like to see some type of comparison between inks/dyes versus candies. It seems to me that the results are very similar on a shiny base and inks such as the F & W’s can be substituted for paints for normal applications
    Nice video and really useful info. Thx

      That is a great suggestion and f&w's ink sounds like a good paint to use instead of candy for those who want to paint over it afterwards 👊 great info thanks!

    Great work. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. If my top layer is Candy2O, and the next and final layer will be 2K automotive clear, will it be necessary to use bleed checker?

    • @lureblanks
      @lureblanks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you Peter! Normally the candy will not start running or bleed with a 2k automotive clear coat. And seal the candy2o properly in case you would like to paint over that afterwards with other paints again 👍

    Hi I watch all your videos and really enjoyed them. I have noticed that you use both createx paint and Vallejo paint and I was wondering if you have used the Vallejo candy paints? If so how do they compare to the createx candy. Also can you paint over Vallejo paint with a candy 20 and get great results. Thanks, keep the videos coming 👍

      @lureblanks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much for the compliment! I have not tried the candys yet froö Vallejo, I might give test them out sooner or later 👍😃 You can definitely paint with candy2o over vallejo paints, I sometimes do that to darken the color a little or to change a metallic to another color 👍

    Thanks for the info! Love the channel. Keep up the good work, and you will have a lot more subscribers in no time. Question for you, why 4030 and 4011? I use 4012 as thinner and have never totally understood the different uses of all the thinners.

    • @michaelmoore2498
      @michaelmoore2498 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Trevor - The 4030 is a balancing Clear coat that not only helps the shine and durability but also reacts with the paint to harden it. the 4011 & 4012 are just thinners to help project and dry the paint when sprayed.

      @@michaelmoore2498 Ok thanks. I've heard that is the issue with the candy paints, they can run. I've heard of people spraying 4030 over a base coat of candy on a lure, does that work? Or is it better to add it to the paint like in the video here.

    • @michaelmoore2498
      @michaelmoore2498 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@TrevorF03 Ive found that it's a lot better to add it.

    • @lureblanks
      @lureblanks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the compliment! I see that most of your questions already are answered 👍😊 to answer on why I do not use 4012. That's because I get a lot of tip dry with 4012 and it is much less with 4011. But that depends also on the climate you paint in. If it's warmer and moist then 4012 works better for some. The main Difference is that 4012 is alcohol based and 4011 is not. Also you can add as much 4011 as you want and with 4012 you can get a bad reaction with the paint when using to much 👍 but I have never had that problem with 4012, only a lot of tip dry in the climate where I paint my lures 😉

      @TrevorF03 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lureblanks Cool thanks for the info. I might give 4011 a try next time as I do get some tip dry with 4012. After doing some googling, maybe I was thinking of that 4040 bleed checker. That is what you can spray over candy to prevent bleeding.

    honestly very great logic explanation, but i want to ask you, what do you suggest me to use for clear coat . Im new at this beautiful art painting , but just for my own lure. After i heard from you for candy02 i ordered and already have them., before i listened to you i bought bob smith epoxy, do you think they are worth it? im afraid it will increase the weight of the lure, thanks

    • @lureblanks
      @lureblanks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Niko! Thank you for the comment, depending on where you live there are usually several options of clear coat. But it is always best to ask a fellow lure painter from your country what they use. Epoxy does way a lure down but also provides the strongest clear coat. Most of the time the amount of epoxy clear coat does not affect the that much though 👌

    Have you ever used the 4040 bleed checker over Candy 2o

    • @lureblanks

      No haven't, I either make sure I use the candies last, or dip the lure in a quick drying waterbased clear coat 👍
