This newscaster was wrong in his choice of words about what he school did. They did not pray TO Father Bill. They asked him for an intercession for their principal. We Catholics only pray to God and to Jesus Christ. We do, however, ask the souls of saints and other departed good people to intercede for us with God in times of sickness or other tragedies/troubles.
She is the recipient of a miracle! How wonderful to have had the intercession of a good priest who himself, while on earth, knew the pain and struggle of disability. Yet rose above that to do for others.

@@Sydroo1969 Yes, you are correct about the confusion of protestants. Which is why it is important for the reporters to do their research and get it right. So many protestants think that we are not Christian or that we are sinners and blasphemers because we pray to saints or to Mary or others instead of just to God and Christ.

Very correct on all accounts except it is not just Protestants who interpret these things as "praying to" not praying for intercession. Glad they reported something Catholic in a positive light tho.

Another Pennsylvania native to be a saint is Fr Walter Ciszek
One more Pennsylvanian. There was support for a cause being opened for Fred Rogers (a.k.a. “Mr. Rogers”) born in Latrobe and died in Pittsburgh, PA. While a Presbyterian minister, he had demonstrated seriously interest in Catholicism in his later years and and had reportedly received the Last Rites of the Church on his deathbed. That cause was derailed by a clerical error or omission, in which the administration of the last sacrament was not documented.

Sainthood is another way of keeping people who don’t read the Bible, in the dark. The is no such thing, nor prerequisites to becoming one in Scripture!

G-D doesnt strike deals, father bill interceeded for before G-D and she was healed. G-D still moves today, if we only let Him.

While John 14:6 affirms Jesus as the only way to the Father, Revelation 5:8 and Revelation 8:3-4 show that the saints in heaven present our prayers to God. After all, He is the God of the living, not the dead (Mark 12:27).
Do you ask your friends to pray for you? Why if you don't believe in intercession? Having a saint already in heaven pray for someone is even better than having a friend pray. (See the Book of Revelation if you don't think saints pray for us.)
So God made salvation happen

Actually it's through Father Bill Atkinson's intercession that we see the power, mercy, and love of Jesus Christ. So it's not us who are trying to get the glory, it's us trying to emphasize His.
