- I am sharing my vintage collection of ruby red sandwich glass by Avon in their 1876 Cape Cod series. Avon is highly collectible and we don't have alot of Avon pieces. I started collecting the Avon 1876 Cape Cod ruby red sandwich glass a few years after it came out. This collection has been a labor of love and obtained over many years piece by piece. I will show you all of the pieces that they came out with. Many flea markets, yard sales, thrift stores, and even trades to get this massive set. It is one of our favorites. I love to use in during the Holidays and especially at Valentine's Day. It has that Victorian look that we love. I will show you many styles of drinking glasses, plates, servers, cake stand, pitcher, vase, ornament, napkin rings. I have all of the pieces. The one 2 tiered server broke in moving and that piece I am trying to replace to complete it again. I have every piece that Avon created of the Cape Cod Collection!! Two china cabinets full!! I was a Avon District Sale's Manager for 21 years and collected all the pieces!! I always get many compliments on the cake plate!!

I remember my grandmother setting the table with this along with her Johnson Brothers Red Chippendale plates, etc., (which I still have.)😅👍🏽 I can hear her rings now clinking on those heavy Cape Cod glasses and her voice saying, "Get outta here before you break something!"😂💖💫

I just came across 120 piece of this fabulous set. Such a rich wonderful color. OMG I purchased this dream set for only 120 USD by chance. I am beyond thrilled and now have my dream dish collection to go into my First hutch which I found for a STEAL last month for only 300 USD. I am so thankful. Everyone have a blessed day. 🙏

Wow this brings back memories of my grandma who sold Avon. I shop on Mercari for glass and always see lots of this cape cod with good prices.

I saw a big ole set of this at our local thrift here in SoCal. It's been there a couple weeks. For some strange reason each piece is priced individually ... ? It's a church thrift store so maybe someone passed away and the family donated it. IDK It looks like you could turn the cake stand upside down and also use it for chips and dips... but yes! Make a Christmas cake.

I always make a 4-layer Red Velvet Cake at Christmas and put it on the Cape Cod Cake stand & it looks just beautiful!!

I really like your videos and content. That was funny you talking about how to pronounce Avon. You are right, people pronounce things differently based on where they are from. My Grandma had a Avon collection of items from the 1970's and 80's and I listed them one at a time on eBay in 2004 and they all got several bids and sold. Some things went way up in price. I considered it my inheritance from my Grandma, but I had to work hard to get it. I also sold her antique coins from the late 1800's and early 1900's. Those were worth a lot to people shopping on eBay.

Good morning, my how beautiful!! What a gorgeous collection! Brings special memory of my beloved Mom had 4 goblets I recognize there. Loved it especially at Christmas. One yr she loaned me these for my Christmas table with my Armatel along with red salad plates. Made a beautiful Victorian table. Did I get those like I wanted. No! It went to Goodwill!! An exquisite collection! I love the color and the pattern. I think I had a piece of this years and years ago, given to me as a gift. I find it interesting that the sugar bowl didn’t come with a lid. I wonder how many uninformed people went searching for a lid over the years. 😉. It really is the perfect color for Christmas and Valentine’s Day. I love the cake stand and the vases. I do remember that cologne or something came in pieces like the candlesticks. No beach for me where I live. 🏄🏻♀️🛟. It’s possible I could scare up a cookie, though. 🍪☕️. The Avon Cape Cod is just an amazing collection, I look forward to seeing it at Christmas on display. Thanks for sharing and giving so much info about the pieces, I enjoy learning more about sandwich glass. Why have gray, white, bland and boring when there are beautiful colors and designs from the past? One of my aunts used to sell Avon and collected many of these pieces, I’m going to have to ask her if she still has them.

My mom would have been in a tizzy as her favorite color was red and she collected red glassware in her later years though Alas! she had no Avon ruby red glassware. I just happened to come across an 11 piece set from this gorgeous collection on Facebook marketplace, and the lovely lady sold it to me for $5. I adore every piece! There are 2 bells, 4 cordial glasses (mine all came with candles inside!), a Skin-So-Soft bath oil inside of a beautiful tiny pitcher with a stopper, a salt and pepper shaker set that contain some sort of scented oils, some sort of lidded chalice, and a very tiny shot glass sized "mug" with a wee handle. I had no clue that this line was so very large and included so many pieces! Now I know I'll be searching for more every time I go thrifting haha!

Jeff this set is beyond beautiful, my sister has this set. I collected the Avon set in the beautiful blue because I was the poor one . Beautiful Cape Code collection! I have never seen a lot of those pieces. Definitely didn't know about the champagne glass. I just love it. Avon made some beautiful pieces back in the day. My grandmother had lots of different things by them she had purchased through the years. The Cape Cod is sturdy and usable and true red glass. Can't wait to see a table with all the pieces!

This pattern is lovely. I know that Avon came out with these in the 70's and I can remember it still being in the Avon campaign books in the 90's when I was in my twenties. (Oh to be that young again...LOL) I found this pattern to be very beautiful as I was really entranced with a Victorian look at the time but I just didn't have extra cash at the time. I do remember it being very cheap compared to today's prices though. Whoever got their pieces back then got them at a deal. I vaguely remember a bit of snobbery in the 80's and 90's as people were really into collecting depression glass and people considered this to be "inferior" new stuff. These glasses are chunky and made to last though. 30-45 years later the Cape code pattern by Avon is still just as beautiful, durable and collectible in it's own right. Good on you and Angela for recognizing it's potential early on before it was vintage.

I have been collecting for many years now and have table settings for over 65 people, everything. I have 50 cake plates, 20 vases, 25 hurricane candles, etc. (S&P, butter, sugar/ creamer, etc. for every 4 people, ) I have over 50 Christmas ornaments. I still have to do the embroidery sets for the napkins and the table runner - these are the only thing that is hard to find. (I have only 2 sets for each item)

I loved this Ruby red glassware video. I followed along with my IPad looking at Avon Ruby red on EBay. I would have loved the 2 tiered server, but these are the prices: $50., 55. + 13.15, 46. + 14.95. So, I’m not buying! You might have to find out how to drill a hole in your plate replacement!! Showing and talking about your collection was super excellent. Until the next over the top lesson………

That was fascinating. So many beautiful and wonderful pieces. I had no idea Avon did anything other than makeup and perfume. Looking forward to seeing you set the table at Christmas. I'd be chuffed just to own the heart shaped trinket box. Someone on Marketplace here makes two tier cupcake plates out of old plates. Getting the two video parts together was a bonus. How beautiful! I sort of remember seeing these in Avon books back in the day.
I asked you once if you were aware of Dick and Angel Strawbridge and their show about renovating their Chateaux, in Escape to the Chateaux.
She collected everything and some things they repurpose. Angel takes unmatched collectable porcelain and made service tiers like your avon that you want to repair.
I believe that the drill bit for porcelain and glass is ,naturally, specialised,. You probably already knew that, but I just wanted to share that I know you can fix your service piece if not replace it. Again, love you guys, and very much enjoyed the video, cannot wait to see the Christmas cake and Table set with your lovely Avon.
Yes thank you friend we have seen them a couple times ....I have a diamond drill bit for glass yes .but I've broke two plates trying to drill them ....learning new tricks to make it happen and a friend here has found the upper plate with the hole in it and is sending it !
