Good Afternoon, My father worked for Anchor Hocking from mid 1950 to the early 80's. We had sooo much Anchorware. Cobolt Blue is my absolute favorite color. I'm still trying finish out a collection of Georgian Glassware by Anchor Hocking. My sister worked for AH and did alot of the hand painting as well.

I'm wondering what constitutes "a full set"...?
Is that like a full dinnerware set or what?
What are the pieces in a full set?

❤I love glass, since I was. A child. ( I’m 70) I would go to the nearby five and dime on a Saturday morning and buy a piece of glass with my $.50 allowance after I purchased a hotdog on a bun. Looking at this glass is bringing back a flood of memories. I believe we are all kindred spirits.

My dad bought a large red Moon and Stars compote for my mom's birthday in the 60s. It was displayed on the TV in the living room and held hard Christmas candy during the holidays. I inherited it when she passed. I found one in an auction a few years ago, won the lot and started an online reselling venture. I love glass!

I started in the 80's collecting Moons & Stars. Later married my husband who also loved it. We have a lot, we moved to Florida and have looked in Antique stores here and can't find much. I was told most people who moved to Florida sold all their stuff when they retired here. Thank the Lord for eBay.

Thank you, Lou for showing all this beautiful glass. When my brothers and I were kids, my mom would take us to "second hand" stores and antique shops. I remembered her telling me how to tell the difference between blown glass and pressed glass. Mom picked up some very beautiful pieces of glass, one of which was a green Moon and Stars banana boat. I never knew the name of the pattern but now, thanks to you, I do.

Lou, I feel like you just took me on a tour of my Mother's china cabinet and boxes of her glassware that I have. I inherited everything from her and also my aunt, who had no children. She called me her favorite niece and so I inherited all of hers also. My mother and father were married in 1937, so I have some beautiful dinner sets and all sorts of glassware. One of her favorites is a green depression glass measuring cup. So, I will be using this video a lot to identify my pieces. I have the candlewick and moon glass. This is so exciting!!! Thank you so much for sharing this!😊

The painted Fire King was decorated by a company called Gay Fad owned by Fran Taylor in Lancaster Ohio. They bought blanks from a few other manufacturers as well. They decorated glassware from 1938 to 1963 with fruit, flowers, and ivy plus many novelty items. They used ceramic paints and baked the designs on.

It's wonderful to have some knowledge when going to purchase, I have been known to purchase items just by what is attractive to me! Very Informative! I do wish, however, you would let us that don't know or would like to know, value, collectability, rarity as i, not only would like to positively identify some of my mother's pieces, whom has recently passed but to be able to convey some history and aforementioned details along with those pieces, i'm passing on to my children and grandchildren. Thank you so much❣️. I absolutely wish i had your knowledge. Love all this beautiful glassware🩵

The values are difficult for me to determine. I look in reference books with price guides although they are not current. Also I check on line for sold comps. What we thought was rare years ago often changed with the internet. I only could reference what I have seen throughout the years in my area. I’m not qualified to give accurate information in those areas. However I know many patterns through years of experience. Thanks so much for watching.

A lot of that glass ware when I was young 😢😢were collected from boxes of oats, laundry powder and etc. sorry to say I never saved it and today people kill for it. Same with glasses (jelly) when you bought gas. Also dish towels and dishes called golden wheat. I had all these when I first got married. Oh well I had it when I needed it and was thankful for it

As I get older, I am developing a love for it myself. I have a Milkglass large bowl and single serve bowls that match. I use them any chance I get. I was born and raised in Mt Pleasant, PA. Smith glass and Bryce Brothers hand blown glass were our main industry. Lenox crystal division took over the Bryce Brothers factory for many years before eventually closing the plant altogether. Smith also made some items hand blown, but I believe the Moon and Stars was perhaps their biggest seller. I have quite a few pieces from both factories.
