I recently purchased this massive 1970s Avon collection at an estate sale, and I couldn't pass it up. I have become quite the vintage Avon hoarder, but I love all of the unique bottles and packaging it was hard to pass up. Let me know if you remember any of these vintage Avon cosmetics or have a favourite from this collection.

If you like rose-scented cologne, you might want to try Elizabeth Arden's white tea fragrance Wild Rose. You can get it for about $30. But I remember Roses, Roses from back in the day. What I wish Avon would do is bring back Topaze and especially Come Summer cologne (which smelled exactly like the original Clairol Herbal Essence shampoo from the 1970's.) Do you remember Avon's Ariane cologne? I remember I found it intriguing. But if they brought it back now, people would probably think it had something to do with Ariana Grande!
I sold Avon in 1976 and went door to door. I won awards for best sales in my territory. I was very young and competing with ladies who sold it for years. I loved it and made new friends. I remember most of the items you displayed. I fell in love with so many items back then and used to buy lots of neat stuff for me and my family. I wish they would come back with much of these items. I laughed when someone smelled my bottle of Candice. She said she wanted to wear platform's and feather her hair. The scent was considered so modern and young back then. Thank you for the memories. Your videos always bring a smile to my face.

I wish they would bring this kind of stuff back again, but I guess Avon thinks it won't appeal to younger generations these days. In the late 1970s, Avon would have been just turning 100, and I think that had something to do with the company choosing those old-fashioned themed bottles.

I was a kid during the 70's. My mom used to buy Avon and I remember loving the solid perfumes for kids that you could pin to your blouse. I had the bunny with skates and the apple with the worm. I used to love the ice cream cone lip gloss too! Avon definitely used to have very creative packaging. You just don't see soaps, perfume bottles etc. like these anymore.
The apple with the worm was my favorite🍎 we used to get them in our stockings as gifts, I couldn't wait to open the package!

Quaker state is a brand of automobile oil. That powder was probably sold for men to wash their hands after working on stuff, they like to use stuff with a bit of grit to exfoliate all the oil and dirt off because it can tend to stain the dead skin on the hands
I could swear I had Avon strawberry scented lotion when I was really little. I wish they still made things like this today because I love the pretty, little soaps and packaging.

Avon had wonderful holiday catalogues. I was always excited to look through it as a little girl, after my mother was finished with it. I received my very first "lipstick" and hand cream, packaged and made for all little girls, in my Christmas stocking. I remember feeling so grown-up when I put on the lip balm. Later in life, I always bought my daughter cute Avon products for her Christmas stocking. She had soap-on-rope, sachet in cute jars, perfume, lip balm, bubble bath, hand cream, etc. It would be incredibly nostalgic and fun to watch a documentary on people's memories of Avon gifts and purchases over the years. You would be the perfect interviewer, narrator for such a creation! 'Just a thought, but I think it is a fantastic idea!!! All my friends and their mothers loved Avon. (I am 70 y/o.)
Ye Gods! I remember the pale yellow soaps with the florwl/fruit decals! We were NEVER to touch them!
These objects are three times beautiful: they are pretty per se,they are precious because they belong to a different era and that infuses them with the vintage feel,and finally,they have the power to bring us back to a time past in our lives,childhood or youth,and It was usually a happy time....congratulations for this wonderful walk through memory lane! And yes,I am totally convinced that if Avon released some of this stuff right now,It would be a total hit!

I still have some unused mini lipstick samples they use to give out... they look like tiny lipsticks in hard cream colored plastic packaging... the lipstick bullet is pointed in a pyramid shape. I've keep them in my lipstick holder for years just cause I could never just toss them in the trash they are so cute 😆👄💄💋
I was an Avon rep for 14 years in Australia until they suddenly folded here in 2018. It was such a shock to all of us. I enjoyed seeing some of the quirky novelty items they sold way back in the 70s. ☺💕⚘💄
I grew up with Avon, I loved it when the Avon lady would stop by and bring us our orders. Show us new products, jewelry. I had the little deer you were looking at in Sweet Honesty.

This was amazing, thank you for the memories! My mom always had Avon everything in our house lol. I got her the owl with purple perfume gelée in the glass body & a gold head. Think it was the first gift I gave her as a child & she had it in her bathroom for 45 years until she moved in May. 💜🙋🏼♀️
I feel like my mom might’ve had the deer cologne or perfume. Remember thinking how weird it was that you would unscrew the head off. I loved it when the Avon lady would come with her samples. She would let me keep a couple of the sample tiny lipsticks that were very light shades of pink or nude. I think maybe that got me on my obsession with miniatures & lipstick 💄
Thanks for the trip down memory lane! And My mom did have her vintage Avon lady. I was 16 in 1970 and Remember her name was Evelyn and she always had me about 9 of the small sample lipsticks. I was so excited for those lipsticks! Good Job! I loved this.🥰💗👏🏻
Hi Laura i was brought up on Avon ,all my makeup was avon as a teenager until i left home at 16 yrs . to start my nursing career then my mum took me to the estee lauder counter and bought me all estee skin care and a basic makeup kit and paid for my topups until i qualified. bless her .but i remember i loved

Thank you for this video. My mother, also, sold Avon in the 70's. Regarding the cologne in the Doll Figurines, I had the Elizabethan one and the Spanish Señorita one. I had them on my vanity for years. Loved them. My vanity always had dusting powder with poof whether from Avon or from the Drug Store like the pink Chantilly Lace one.
I use to sell Avon in the 70's and still have some of the special decanter's. Yes, I rang door bells and loved it. I love your collection.

She was a classy lady and I miss those days. I had many of what you showed. I loved the little dog and the deer. Mine had Sweet Honesty in them.

Things were so well made back then. I was born in the 80's so I've never seen any of this Avon stuff but I remember my mom got Avon in the 90s and early 2000's and she always ordered me bubble baths and that sweet honestly perfume, makeup items etc. I miss Avon. I might check out the website but I doubt it's near as interesting as what's shown here.

I also wanted anything Bird of Paradise but since I was like 7-10 , I was restricted to milder scents. I usually got the Honeysuckle or Hawaiian White Ginger powder or sachet.
They did use such creative packaging back in the day.

It was an amazing and incredible experience. We had an amazing Avon lady. She had the biggest biggest bouffant beehive hair do, and long nails. She had so many samples and a big bag full of goodies. Her home had this garage attachment that was stocked full of Avon stuff so we could go shopping in there if we didn't want to wait for our order to come in. Oh the memories.
I sold Avon door-to-door in 1978. I remember all these so well. Roses, Roses is my favorite cologne. I have quite a vintage collection myself and Roses, Roses is the only cologne I never find. I laughed out loud when I saw how many Roses, Roses decanters you scored. Lucky you! Thank you for sharing. :)

Yes ma'am I remember every item you showed. What a wonderful collection. The first time I sold it I was only 16, and yes I went door to door. That was 1973. Avon today is nothing like this. SAD

I was born in 1969 . I remember er the Avon lady coming to my grandmother's and she bought Avon all the time & gave them out at Christmas and kept for herself . I remember getting the bubble bath and a soap as a gift then taking a bath after Christmas and I felt special lol . Thank you for sharing fond memories she had alot of the items you're showing .

My mom used to buy Avon in the 1970s and 1980s. I still have a porcelain pin. I used to love their perfume bottles. I had a blue girl one for years. I think my mom still has it. Avon isn’t what it used to be. I think they don’t come door to door is bc of online and women aren’t home during the day like they used to be. Thank you for sharing your beautiful collection.
My mom used to do Avon in the 90s to early 2000s. She only did a couple streets and only had a few customers. I think she mostly did it just to order stuff for herself lol. When I got older I got into some of the makeup items and perfumes. I mostly ordered when they came out with the Mark brand cuz it was geared towards a younger demographic. I had a lot of Mark bags back in the day.

Thank you for this video! I remember the Avon Lady coming on Saturdays ringing the doorbell with that iconic phrase, carrying her blue sample case. She and my mother would drink iced tea while shopping and I would usually receive a special sample too! Such fun! ❤️

It was an incredible experience! We lived in the projects! Lucille, the Avon lady just lived 4 apts. Down. I was 16 in 1978. So , I remember Avon. I just loved the books, samples & decanters💗🩰
My family were big Avon fans in the 60's, 70's and 80's. My aunt collected the bottles and I remember eagerly waiting for each brochure. We had the apple w/the worm, gingerbread man, etc pins with the perfumed glace inside. Too many Avon products to mention but some of my favorite ones were Lilac perfumed cream sachet, Ariane, Zany, etc.
I sure do miss the days of the Avon Lady.
My aunts and grandma's collected and used Avon products. I remember some of the products you showed. I had the little green stocking with red cap, bath oils in green and blue glass urns and my favourite was a solid perfume called Her Prettiness. It was a purple and lavender mushroom with a green frog and a lady bug on top. Thanks for the memories.

Thoroughly enjoyed this! I remember many of these as well as our Avon lady coming to visit. She would give us perfume samples and tiny little lipsticks which I just loved. My first Avon perfume was in a little flocked teddy bear bottle containing Sweet Honesty.
I was just thinking about AVON yesterday! Does anyone remember the liquid deodorant that came in a square clear bottle with a green cap. Bird of Paradise , Topaz and Moon Wind was good fragrances. Skin-So-Soft was my favorite bath oil! Thank you for this wonderful trip down memory lane!

My Aunt Debbie sold/had so many of these when I was little. I still remember when she gave me her (nearly) empty bottle of Sweet Honesty perfume. It was a little pink cupcake. Wouldn't mind having some of that again. Thanks for the walk down memory lane. 🥰

I do so wish we still had such fun and unique packaging for toiletries these days. I realise that it’s not really sustainable, but for something that you might purchase only once a year, I think I could justify it as a fun treat!
I vividly remember my Nana always had a small assortment of unused, fragrant “guest soaps” by the sink, just in case (as we used to laugh,) the Queen popped over for tea 😂. They too had those beautiful printed stickers and unique shapes, like seashells, flowers, and valentines 😊. I was forbidden from using them; instead, I had to use the Velvet soap that was in a dish in the drawer under the sink.

Love this! My granny used to have Avon stuff my momma to!! 🎉👍 I have that same girl yellow perfume bottle got it brand new never used at Goodwill. My mom used to have the Avon poodle bottle on her dresser to I loved that. My friend Terri used to sell Avon. My granny had so much Avon lipstick samples I loved to play with them when I was younger to.

Wow, so many memories, my mom was an Avon Lady in the 70s, my sister and I had a collection of the doll perfumes, the Skin so Soft products were my favorite, Loved the scent.
That was fun! I saw pieces I haven't thought about in years. I especially loved the dark salmon colored jar with the very ornate gold top (definitely had that one), and I remember the other two versions as well. The thing that made Avon unique was their never-ending decanter lines. Some of those cut glass decanters add instant femininity to a vanity or dresser top. I completely forgot about the two piece decanter in the shape of a girl gathering flowers. Yep, had her too.
My mom sold Avon in the mid-70s, and it was always fun to open her blue brocade suitcase to check out her latest samples (anyone remember those tiny, white lipstick tubes?). Avon was great for stuffing stockings at Christmas. My sister and I got new things every year. I completely overdosed on "Sweet Honesty", and my cousin, who was addicted to "Timeless", was gifted every product in that line. Nice memories. Thanks.

We had an Avon lady when I was a kid. I will be 60 this year. She would visit with her giant travel suitcase and show us things, leave a book and sample lipstick. Now I have a lady I work with who leaves Avon books for all of the coworkers. It's really nice. This was a GREAT video.

I was an Avon rep in the 70's twice and bought it before and after from other reps.. I won plates as awards for sales and still have my door knocker pin. My fave scents were Regence, Somewhere Bird Of Paridise, Candid, Topaz, Moonwind, Oddysey. Pearls And Lace. I loved their Skin So Soft and cream sachets. I'd wear it today if I could find it. I have some of their rings and necklaces. But the rings were plated and the finish wore off easily. I see the red Cape Cod dinner ware collection at estate sales quite often. They have to beg people to bid on it.

My first Avon gift was a teeny tiny bottle of Topaz from my Aunt Mary when I was 13. I thought it was the height of sophistication. 55 years on, I still buy all my face care from my Avon lady Jean who has over a hundred clients. It’s almost a full time job for her.

I believe some of these items are from the mid to late 1960's. I also sold avon door to door around 1978. I was shy, so I only did it for a year. But the discount products were great to have as a rep. Thanks for sharing this video. Nice memories
My Mom sold Avon door-to-door in the 1960’s. I remember her kit. I bought a lot of Avon over the years from a friend who sold it. I also sold Avon in the mid 2000’s, mostly to co-workers thru catalogs. I loved doing that. I wish I had kept more of the glass pieces I had bought and a lot of nice jewelry, costume and real. I looked at a catalog online a while back and was so surprised at the lack of anything I would consider “nice” things like they used to carry. So sad.
I was born in 1994 but I remember my grandmother having tons of old Avon all around her bathroom , my mom would order me the kids nail polishes that smelled like grapes and Oranges 😊 oh and the yummy Chapsticks
I remember my Mom had the brown glass turtle on her dresser for many years, brings back memories.
We had an Avon lady back in the early 60s. I loved when she came to the house and I got to look at all the samples she had with her including little sample lipsticks. I think there may have been mini sample bottles of perfume as well though I might be remembering the ones the Fuller Brush man gave out which my grandmother got. She also had an Avon lady.
I remember getting the little donkey with the hat for Christmas one year! It is so cool to watch your videos and remember how much I loved getting anything Avon, from the little donkey to the soap sets and later the rub-on perfumes that came in small flip cases like eyeshadows.
I loved seeing this collection.
