Water can reduce the sheen. Use an extender like A-1 or Floetrol. If it takes three coats what’s an extra hour on something you’ll use for years or sell for more money. Take the time and do it well.
@@nelly_8888 I’ve never painted cabinets or wood really. But from what I’ve seen thin coats are better and maybe water down the paint for the first coat if it’s water based. I want to try foam brushes on my furniture project and see. I think rollers would be good after the initial cut in with the brush. And maybe sand lightly after the first coat.
I use a primer on every piece I paint. You just cant see it in this video because this is applying the second coat of the grey paint. I have a long format video of this makeover which shows me applying the primer.
Your comment is too! 😅 It's easy to remove so why is it problematic? That's hilarious because if paint or trash is the option, paint it! Again, it's so easy to simply remove it if you prefer wood. Most of us don't.
Paint a frame first!!! Those inside corners are my biggest issue. Thank you 🤗
Forgot to mention you should use a 1/4” nap roller or less
3/8th
Mix a bit of water with your paint ( obvs as long as it’s water based ). Slightly thinner paint goes on smoother
But it takes more coats

your final roll off should be in one direction, not back and forth.
Fantastic video, you're a natural!
Thanks so much! So glad you found the video helpful 😀
Sherwinn Williams emerald urethane for wood makes a painter a master. Lays flat and doesn’t drip much. Easy to work with.
@@nelly_8888how did it go?

Gallery series is far better.
I always cut in with my brush then roll the rest 🤗❤️
Guys, just spray if you want a super flat finish.
Great job..
Great tips!
Thank you 🙏 Glad it was helpful 😀
What color is that?
What kind of paint to use on wood pls
I use mostly Mineral Paint it’s definitely my favourite to use 😀
At the end of the video, did you say you go over it with a dry roller?
Listen again perhaps? Just a thought.
How you get it smooth by hand is by spraying. Nothing else is that smooth
What kind/size roller is that?
You should use a 3/8th roller cover
My dresser has a shiny finish should I sand it first or just paint over it?
You need to sand the shiny finish or the paint wont stick properly. Just give it a good scuff sand with a 120 grit before painting :)
@@refinishwithjade Thank you 🥰
@@refinishwithjadedoes it still need to be primed after sanding?
i buy the primer paint mix works good too is prime and paint mixed
Could you be more specific with the instructions? I got paint in my eyes.
Lol my bedroom colour steel smoke ❤
Such a great colour :)
Can I use just basic normal paint??
You can yes but I much prefer to work with Mineral Paint. If I can’t I then use Aquanamel 👍
It’s roller not rolla 😂
Or just use a foam roller
What about primer?

Use slack
So you just paint. Lol.
Painting wood is a blasphemy.
