I have been using Chalk Paint and teaching painting workshops for a few years and am happy to share with you all of my tips and tricks. In this video I show you the basics, how to Chalk Paint and apply Chalk Paint Wax.… don’t worry if you don’t know what that means, I’ll explain everything as I go.

CLEANING BRUSHES: I used dish soap for cleaning both paint and wax brushes. Any mild grease cutting soap works, no solvents or harsh chemical cleaners needed.

Can u use lacquer on top of chalk paint?
Hi there, I absolutely love how factual you are and how beautiful your work is... it inspires me and gives me confidence to try this myself. Do you give online tutorial or have a course that I could purchase, please? Thanks....
I have some questions! Will this not chip since it wasn’t sanded first? If not , how? Then as someone else asked, can you not use another kind of typical sealant on this? I hear you have to reapply wax every six months or so?
Yes you can use lacquer on top of Chalk Paint... Use instead of wax. Annie Sloan makes gloss and matte!

I’ve had 2 nightstands in my garage for years. I have watched several chalk paint tutorials and I never felt confident enough to start. I took them out of the garage yesterday, determined to finally paint them. I decided to TH-cam chalk painting one more time-I’m so glad I found this video! Thank you for your step by step and simplistic approach. I’m going to go pick up paint right now!

how did it turn out .......is it durable enough....i hv heard that chalk paint does not stay on for long ...is that true
@@sheemakhan4738 Yes it stayed on very well-I didn’t wax and the paint still stayed. I’m going to wax the tops, as they have gotten a bit stained from coffee rings.

Glad you found this tutorial helpful! Try not to stress, maybe start with a small project like painting an old picture frame to test out the steps and build your confidence. Remember, you can always paint over it if you are not 100% happy with the colour or change your mind on the style :) Thanks for watching.

Oh yes, also a bench and 2 drawer side table/nightstand need refinishing and a bed frame and old table my grandfather built over 100 years ago need an overhaul. I've been waiting for this video. I use chalk paint in all my DIYs and furniture and they are so nice to work with they lost and when you seal them in they go forever great colours I will not go back to the regular paint ever again thank you for sharing enjoyed your channel and have to arrange have a great day God bless

Thanks for this video. I've got a night stand that my grandfather made & I've been hauling it around for years. It matches nothing in my house & my husband hates it. I'm planning to paint it & get some more use out of it. It will be my 1st time doing chalk paint.

Just started searching for how to paint fabric when I stumbled upon this video. Watched a cpl others b4 I found yours. I love how you just stick to what needs to get done, I wasn't looking to FF⏩ to the end! Then, BONUS! The chihuahuas sealed the deal! I'm a chimama too! Just told my husband I found someone to redo the kitchen cabinets-- that would be me YOURS TRULY! thanks to you for making it look less complicated than I imagined.

Make sure you clean before you start, use a degreaser and really scrub everything! I've painted a few kitchens before and it looks great, worth the work!
