  • The Mass Games in North Korea is perhaps one of the world's most incredible spectacles. Thousands of performers in the world's largest stadium putting on a show on a scale unfathomable in most of the world. But what's the history? How does the Mass Games in Pyongyang have links to the Napoleonic War? And what exactly was the Arirang Mass Games?

I have been a student of this country for decades starting in the 80's by monitoring shortwave radio, both the voiced and radiotelegraph broadcasts of Radio Pyongyang. Although it was much more difficult for an American to elicit a reply from Radio Pyongyang, than say from Radio Moscow or the DDR's Radio Berlin, I managed to do it by sending them concise and thorough reception reports ofProbably

The 1871 empire was the Second German Empire. The first empire was the Holy Roman Empire, which was dissolved by Napoleon in 1806. It was sometimes called the German Empire, but anyone calling it that at such a late date would likely have meant it sarcastically.

Say what you want, but the DPRK is a much more interesting country than all current capitalist nations. There is substance to it, meaning and a certain thumos.

Czechoslovakia and East Germany were not a Soviet Union (nor was it part of it) just as Western Germany or France were not the United States of America. It is terrible how widespread this mistake is.

It is really ironic how the „anti-Imperialistic“ and „anti-capitalistic“ countries during the Cold War copied so many Prussian traditions.

Prussia was a hot bed of "anti-Imperialistic“ and "anti-capitalistic“ activities. Probaly more than any other part of old Germany.
