- In this video, I recreate Sophie Hatters workshop from Studio Ghibli’s film Howl’s Moving Castle as a 1:100 scale miniature. I initially thought her room would be a nice and simple project, but boy were there so many intricate details to consider!
While this is not truly 1:100 (as I couldn't obtain accurate measurements), I did model this around a 1:100 human model figurine that I purchased from my local art store.

Haha not quite there yet but I appreciate your kind words! Thank you so much! Really glad you enjoyed this video! ❤️😊
Absolutely stunning!! Well done!!!
Your video was suggested to me, and I am in awe of your talent! I had forgotten how much I loved miniatures when I was a kid. This takes me right back to that joy and soothes my inner child ❤Lovely work, I hope you keep sharing your creations!
That’s amazing! Im so glad you enjoyed watching this video! This video did a lot better than I expected and your comment made me realise how this video hit the mark for so many viewers! Thank you so much for your comment! 💝✨
This is amazing!!! Such a tiny scale to work in. I love your talent, can’t wait to see your future projects.
Thank you so much! 💖✨
This is beautiful and so tiny! Amazing crafting
thank you so much!
That is so magnificent and so tiny. You have some seriously steady hands to work on this scale. Fantastic attention to detail :)
Thank you so much! 😊❤️
Cool 🏡
The coffee staining is magnificent, as is the entire project. Does a whiff of coffee still linger?
Yes it does! Though the aroma is a lot more subtle now, you’d have to get really close to catch a whiff of the scent. For best results, I’d recommend air drying in a well ventilated area! I absolutely loved how unpredictably the wood takes up this stain so will definitely be revisiting this technique in the future! :)
in this movie , i love sophie hat studio the most .
Me too! 😊 there are so many wonderful details, but Sophie’s room is definitely the most memorable 💖
Came here from one of your TH-cam shorts of this. I bet if you broke more of it up into shorts you might get more eyes on it.
Very cute. Well done. ^_^
Thank you so much! That’s actually a great idea! I think I am long due to start clipping some shorts! So glad the latest short brought you here! Thanks for watching! 😊💖
Absolutely amazing! I wish it was a kit I could make! I'm gonna have to try one day❤❤❤
Your amazing, that's some talent and some steady hands 👏👏🙏🐦❤
Thank you! 😊❤️
Really like it ! I like the music too and the way of filming 👍
Thank you so much! 💖
That turned out so perfect. Amazing work.
I really enjoyed this! Having never seen the film, it shows how well your narration and editing is. Just your patience alone with tackling something at this scale and having to focus in on those items while crafting is impressive. I feel like most dont think about that aspect of filming. Cheers!
Thank you so much! I’m glad I was able to introduce you to the film! Although Sophie’s room is just a minor backdrop, it does add a layer to her characterisation. I really appreciate your feedback and I’m really glad to hear you enjoyed the video! 😊
This is great, wish I could have seen how you assembled the lil cardboard base.
Haha it didn’t occur to me at the time to film the cardboard box assembly for this video but I’ll definitely try to pay more attention to the early stages of my builds in future videos! 😅😊
This is absolutely beautiful!! I can't imagine working in this small scale. Well done!! 👏👏👏
Thank you! 😊💖✨

Lovely
Thank you! 😊
Make it in a 12th scale, please
❤😮😮
I love how you've recreated Sophie's workshop! I was building a diy miniature kit (in a scale similar to this one) not long ago and it reminded me of her workshop. Now that I've seen you build your recreation (with reference shots from the movie) I can see the kit designer definitely took elements from her room (window, desk, corkboard). [Here's someone building that kit if you're curious: th-cam.com/video/b-15vfn9LpE/w-d-xo.html ]
I can definitely see the parallels between the miniature and Sophie Hatter’s room, down to the little hats and scissors. But they’ve also added a few of their own twists to their decor. It’s a very cute model! I didn’t know kits like this existed! Thanks for sharing! Im sure there are others who are a fan of Sophie hatters room and the film in general would appreciate discovering this (despite it being called “Ava’s room”)! 😉😊
Amazing
Thank you! 😊
