- Some of the automatons I make in my small carpentry and wood sculpture workshop. At the moment these pieces have all been sold, so I had to recover the footage from some old videos I made for instagram, so they are vertical and therefore to adapt them to the youtube format, they are very enlarged.

this feels like the behind the scenes of a beloved childhood movie that everyone remembers watching, but never remembers the name until some lost media channel does a deep dive on it 7 years later
YES exactly!
I can't measure how true your statement is.
Absolutely!
Man that rings so true.
It reminds me of the movie Song of the Sea, with the girl and the seals.
So much charm. The hair on the wind is mesmerising!
I agree. The yarn adds so much softness that it makes the piece feel cozy and inviting. The beauty of simplicity ❤
that one and the skeleton listening to music r my favs
simple but so cute
Tout à fait d'accord ! 👍👏
Really reminds me of Merida from Brave!!
this really makes me want to make some of these. the huntress character in particular is stunning, not just for the great hair effect, but the figure herself is also brilliantly done
I think that was supposed to be the Princess Merida character from the Pixar film, _Brave._
Thats actually Merobiba
@@Ocean_Man is that the name in a language other than English?
@@melovesawyer Its a joke from the channel/show "Drawfee"
@@Ocean_Man hello, fellow Drawfan!
Wish we could of made stuff like this in woodworking at school. Would have been so much fun
Nice to know kids are still doing woodwork. We did woodwork and metalwork (1960s). Entered a completely different career but the skills I learned back then have served me well, many times.
I wish I could have done woodwork in school. Girls had to do sewing and cooking when I was at school (in the 90s). I always wanted to do woodwork. Have still never had the chance.
Start today, no need for classes. Knife and idea.
@@yippee8570Cooking still is my hobby, from school lessons, my kitchen now looks like advanced chemical lab :D I do molecular kitchen. It is incredible actually. Some receipts which I invent take up to weeks to prepare. In some kind it is also art! Chemistry, crystallography and art! 😅
Do they sell kits or like somebody online maybe do this?
The weight lifting mouse made me laugh! And the boxes with the cat and the mouse? Wonderful. An absolute joy to see all of these.
those were my two favorites as well! but all of them were just fantastic.
The red haired warrior with wind in their hair, and the 3Black cats are fantastic! The ocean waves with sea life also quite fine. Thank you for sharing your talents.
The red haired warrior reminds me of Merida!!
These are all really cool! I really like the rough hand made quality, it gives them so much character.
These are so beautiful. Who says you need electronic toys all the time? Wooden ones designed like this are charming
Just when you think there's nothing more that can be done with simple automata . . .
These are amazing
I especially love the hair movement.
Very creative.
Nicely done.
jhjh
Your childlike imagination is pure joy and I can’t help but think you are a beautiful soul. Keep captivating all of us ❤️🦋🇦🇺
All of these have their own character, it is just mesmerizing to watch them come to life.
Channels like this are the true treasures of the Internet. Thanks so much for your work and uploads!
Delightfully whimsical! In an era of unknowable complexity, these are refreshingly enchanting! 👏
These are refreshing, delightful, and just…magical in their own unique ways. Beautifully done and clever. Kudos.
Gorgeous! You have a rare gift as both an artist to create the your expressive characters and the attention to detail to get your machines to work reliably. Congratulations. Lots of sanding, I imagine!
I love your creations! Each one tells a personalized story to each of us your viewers. The world needs colours, humour, imagination, and your inspirations have these and more! Just an idea for you that I thought of when I watched the skeleton gardener watering his graveyard flowers, could you make a tableau painted with glow-in-the-dark paints? Turn off the lights and have a secondary story ready to surprise. Especially if not expected. Time for bed, turn off the lights, and “oh!” More magic. Thank you for you little treasures!
Thank you 😊 I really like the idea of using colors that glow in the dark!
What a great idea!!
That is a clever idea! You guys restore my faith in humanity. Subscribed so that I can come back and hide out here where the world is rightfully a source of beauty and wonder. ✨
Absolutely delightful! This video popped up in my feed this morning and had me smiling from the Forest Spirits to the Wizard Mouse all the way to the end. Thanks you for sharing your works and please share more!
Thank you 😊 next week I upload a video with other works
This whole idea, is news to me. I'm a fan of David Bird's Becorns. He begins with a sketch. But you have to imagine in three dimensions and ALSO in physics. Plus there's so much wood-carving! I'm interested in your process, not to try it, just as an artist who is fascinated by diverse thought processes. Such a good subject for videos.
Omg you watch those videos too? Awesome!
The becorns are so sweet . Especially when wildlife interacts with the Becorns and he catches them on camera. This video is also magical .
I love that you use yarn and fabric, they give awesome effects! So fun and beautiful!
love the monster band. the cello and concertina are awesome.
the mouse and cat mechanism is very well thought out.
I’m in love with that forest spirits automata. Beautiful work on all of these!
There's an insane amount of character in each piece! I can practically feel the whimsical story hiding in each one
This reminds me of the 'rising sun and moon over mountains' automata I made when I was in school😊
These are just so wonderful, and there's such profundity to the interaction with automata. Thank you for the video☺💚.
Oh my gosh, you just made me remember the automata of penguins swimming in the ocean near an iceberg that I made in... holy crap, 4th grade?!? It was really simple and made entirely of paper. Just penguins going up, turning over and going back down. The assignment was to make a diorama of a natural environment, and rather than just gluing some twigs and moss together to make a mini forest like all the other kids, I decided to make something more interesting. I know that the automata part of my project was _not_ part of the assignment. I think I got a lousy grade on it because I spent more time on making it than on researching the antarctic habitat, which was the underlying goal.
TH-cam thought I might like this, and I did. It's mesmerising! I love the mechanisms. They're beautiful too!
The foxes and the forest spirits peeking out through the woods are so charming. Your stuff is amazing.
1) I hope that seal continues to evade the orca!
2) If any of those windswept ladies need a detangling agent, I know a good one.
3) Please give that chilly skeleton a tiny shawl for Pete’s sake!
4) Lastly, and most importantly, if that charming Jack-o-lantern with the squeeze box is looking for a place to stay in Cypress, Tx, please ring me up!
I love the one with the ghost watering the flowers on his grave😢😊❤ 1:06
Spellbinding.
This is what Geppetto's workshop must've been. I half expected to see Pinocchio
these are so whimsical and charming, they feel so alive in design and functionality
Oh how beautiful & expressive they are! Pleasing to the eye & joyful to the heart! Just lovely 😊
I envy your talents. I don't have a creative bone in my body, but I LOVE toys and these are so creative. I'm 73 but I would play with these all day. So wonderful.
Magnificent. Each and everyone one is oozing with character. A tribute to your fertile imagination, excellent workmanship and dedicatjon to the task at hand, spreading happiness and delight. MagicaL stuff.
My fav is the hair flowing in the wind but the mouse wizard is awesome too! The owl reading the book! If you made that scene as a Harry Potter one... it would get tons of views!
That one with the cats and flowers is really impressive!
I just stumbled across this and I can't stop smiling. Truly, such a gift to all of us! Thank you for your work!
I have never seen anything like this, what joy! You are truly gifted. Thank you for sharing your gift. Sincerely.
The music between about 3:30 and 5:00 is an especially good accompaniment for the movement of the toys. So cute!
Yes! Does anyone know the music used right at the end please?
@@fireflysparks1105 it's Glistening Lights by Brightarm Orchestra. The piece between 3.30 and 5.00 is The Celtic Flavour by Alysha Sheldon. 👍
Every one of these is great -- very imaginative. Love it!
Thank you TH-cam algorithm for the wonderfully enchanting surprise today.❤ Bravo to the creative person behind all this. 🥳🌞
These are super cute and cool. The movement is really great, you've done some fabulous work!
These are BEAUTIFUL!! I ❤ all of them.
You've done an incredible job! Love every work of yours! I can only imagine how much patient u have to make it work the way it is! You are awesome!
So beautiful. I love the simplicity of these little sculptures. Thanks for showing your art!
I'm mentally projecting myself into a future where I can afford one of these masterpieces and it keeps me company while I write ❤
Are those expensive ? They probably are....is the creator even sells them ? If so where ?
something about these is just so whimsical to me, like something i expect to see in a series of unfortunate events or a tim burton film
I've always had a huge soft spot for automata toys, thanks for making these and sharing them with us!
Ok the skeleton reading a bedtime story but only hearing the chattering teeth...that's brilliant!
These are so much fun! You do great work!
This genuinely made me smile from ear to ear the entire time. So whimsical, magical, adorable!!💖
I just had a big smile on my face all the way through that!
Your work is magical! ❤
Thank you for sharing it with us 💐
Amazing. I like the owl helping concoct a potion.
These are beautiful! You are so creative.
...and soon this video will have one million views!! 😉 So cool as always!
@7:24 The cats, flowers and birds are my favorite:) Well done my friend!
I am a recycling artist and it was so wonderful to see these creations. I smiled with everyone of them. This is great art
A ghost pouring a flowers on a grave is a true masterpiece!
These are absolutely amazing. I feel completely transported into the amazing worlds you create. Both the complexity of the movements, combined with the detailed carving and painting make the automata so expressive. Wow.
What charming mechanical delights. Thank you so much for sharing them. Loved them all, especially the butterfly and the cat and mouse.
i love all these so much! Thank you for sharing your love and light!!!
Thank you so much for sharing your artwork! I found it beautiful and amazing to watch. I could see the stories in each. That makes you an artist and a storyteller! 😊 I have saved this video to watch again, especially when I'm having a difficult day to cheer up. Again, thank you and look forward to your other work. Many blessings!😊
Them seemingly so remedial is what makes them so complex!
Beautiful work; simplicity is key! ❤
All of these amazing works of art and engineering are a mesmerizing treat to behold. But the mystery and playful simplicity of the peekaboo characters in the Forrest are my favorite. It’s the mystery that gets me.
How wonderful. I love them all but the archer with the lovely red hair is my favourite. I'm so glad this popped up.
This video had such a nostalgic vibe to it. Made me wish I was a child who found these in a shop and could play with them myself. Such whimsical designs mixed with the handmade care and attention. Loved them all. Particularly the first girl with the hair. That was stunning.
How charming! Your creations made me happy watching them.
This is the most magical thing I've seen all month. Thank you for sharing these wonderful automata!
They're all so beautiful and imaginative! I love the flowing hair, the forest creatures and the chattering skeleton! I had a couple of toys like these as a kid: the acrobat on a high wire, and the whirligig wood chopper. But yours are next level! Thank you for showing them to us.
INCREDIBLE!! 🎉 Every time I thought I had a favorite, another one came up that blew my mind.
Enchanting artistry! Even their shadows are wonderful.
I needed this return to simplicity and beauty today. Thank you.
I really appreciate your craftsmanship as well as your imagination!! I fell in love the from the first frame!
Love, Love, Love these mechanicals..... ALL one of a kind....hard to pick my favorite for sure
They're all so wonderfully whimsical. The cat and mouse in boxes one is very funny ❤ good luck with future projects, they're lovely💕
These are all so charming! The butterfly has to be my favorite, but I love all of the spooky ones as well! So much character in each one 🖤
Spellbinding with such an addictive way to lose time watching these magnificent handmade mechanisms at play 😍🤗👏
Genius!! You are so creative and I admire your mind. Thank you for posting this video and sharing your talent with the TH-cam community
Beautiful!! What a treat to see this. They are all very impressive. Thanks so much for sharing this! 🙏🏻🥰👍🏻
It ended, and I was so lost in the simple joy of it, that I wasn't ready for it to stop.
"Hey, why'd it stop?"
Oh, they are all so cute! ❤.
The Cat and the Mouse in the boxes are so adorable. 😊
They are whimsical and spellbinding! Thank you!
These are so beautiful! I especially love the little yellow raincoat flying that long dragon kite, and the mouse sorcerer with his owl reading his formula book. You have such a talent, you are blessed. This is the kind of stuff that I have loved finding in antique stores every one of them is one of a kind and priceless. These are so much better than The old style mechanical piggy bank!
Firstly, I love how they get more and more impressive as we go. Secondly, all of this is gorgeous. 💖
Those little creatures were absolutely delightful!❤️ Though a little rough in design, you could see how they worked and his obvious love of what he does, whilst showing the purest, earlier ideas moving up the the many moving parts creations. I wonder if there is any money to be made from his craft. I hope so for his sake. He really has a curious but inventive mind! ❤️🦘🇦🇺😊
Thanks for showing us the inside of your mind. It was lovely.
I couldn't find a favourite, because they all became my favourites by the end. I love automotive toys. 😊
Beautiful, worth watching till the very end! All are small wonders, full of surprises, made with love. The whole video is enjoyful and uplifting, thank you for sharing!
Most whimsical! You have some especially beautiful actions on some of these in particular. My two favourites for various reasons are the weight lifting mouse and headphone dinosaurs. Kudos to being able so succinctly demonstrate your love of doing this work into the motion of these pieces themselves.
Die Maus und die Katze😍 So süß! Aber alle Figuren haben ihren Charme. Respekt für die Geduld und Kunstfertigkeit!
I really loved seeing these creations and how they worked, it was a joy watching this video
What a wonderful display of ingenuity, craftsmanship and creativity. Beautiful pieces!
This is magical. Your ability to put your imagination into working automaton devices is amazing.
I just came back from work and this was the perfect thing to relax to.
Hope you can past on this art of making automatons like this to others.
So many imaginative designs, but the last one with the cats and flowers and birds was my favorite. Amazing work!
I really liked the mouse and owl at the cauldron
It's like a little snapshot scene and got me feeling homey and nostalgic
Your beautiful work is absolutely amazing!!! How intricate your designs are along with the imagination to design these pieces ☺️🙌🏽👏‼️
So glad you put these videos together - charming!
Wow, your art is amazing! What an imagination you have. I particularly liked the little ghost watering the flowers on the grave, it made me smile.
Fine art, schmine art. This is what makes me happy! I've collected mice for 50+ years. These mice tickled me especially. We need whimsy in our lives. A little in awe at the cleverness with subject matter!
Stunning. What a joy to watch. I recently visited the Alexander Calder circus at the Whitney in New York. This to me is at a similar level. Thank you for sharing.
You know these are simply some of the cutest and most delightful objects I have ever seen, man. Kudos!
These are marvelous! Thank you for sharing such a wonderful art form. The Halloween band is my fav.
