That's a magnificent piece of work Clint. Eighty hours seems like a very short length of time to have made such a detailed and cared for carving. The trees alone make for fascinating watching. And such a wonderful vid, full of charm and wit, and an excellent choice of music. Thanks mate. I've watched twice already and I'm looking forward to settling down this evening and watching again. Great job all round.
Thanks mate! I appreciate that, and always do appreciate your support. I suppose if I added in all the time I spent thinking about it it'd easily double the time haha.
Howl cool! I love Japanese anime and have watched Howl's Moving Castle a number of times. Your sculpture is as close to touching the real deal as it gets! Lucky you :)
Once again an insane carving project! Just to have the time and patience to carve all those finicky bits bowl me over! I saw "I made a Miniature HOWL'S MOVING CASTLE out of junk // Ghibli Crafts" by Studson Studio? a few months ago and it blew my mind. I then watched the movie itself. I take my hat off to you to attempt this carving and in my opinion, it looks better than Studson's because it is all carved out of wood! Please keep on making sculptures and videos like this one. Not only are they good tutorials, but also full of inspiration!
3:20 Try buying slightly oversized dowels and shave off the top layer; I suspect the industrial made version has filled in the holes the glue seeps in through?
Outerwordly in all aspects. If you are not bonkers yet, I would guess that with projects as these you will be mad as ... well, something extremely mad ... just shy of 2025. Loving it though!

Haha thanks a lot Erik, yeah I do feel slightly insane but I guess that just means it's challenging, which is good. Thanks for watching!
