This is more of a Reimagining with new location than a One to one copy such as link between worlds. and thanks to the echoe Mechanic it is probably even more open world than link between worlds. I can't wait for this game
While we can’t say if it is a reimagining or a remake of the overworld, I’m positive this is the same Link and Zelda from A Link to the Past (meaning that this would’ve been the third time this link has fought Ganon.)
As a true fan since 1991, this is exactly what I wanted for a Zelda game. Throwing in so many references and easter eggs for the long time fans is honestly amazing. 100% hyped for this game
It really looks like Link to the Past, but with inspiration from the other Hyrules of the Zelda franchise, some stuff is moved around a bit, and there have been some additions such as the Gerudo village and such. I wonder if there will be a Dark World to explore as well 🤔
The fact that Death Mountain is in the game despite it not appearing in alttp or albw is proof enough that the game map will be at least a much larger and more expanded version of the old map with new locations and areas alongside returning ones. That along with the inclusion of areas like Hyrule Castle Town and Gerudo Village shows that this world is much larger in scale compared to the prior games, seeing as the Hyrule Castle Courtyard in alttp is way too small to contain all the buildings the new one has. Is it disappointing that so much of the map is similar to prior games? A little bit, but it’s clear that there is at least more new and changed stuff in this Hyrule from it’s predecessor than there was from the change from BotW to TotK.

You and others outside of your channel are really making me want her as my new best friend if you guys keep including that new Zelda render in your thumbnail.❤❤❤ Bcs IMO, Zelda from EOW looks so, too cute to look at…😢😢😢
Yeah, by using the same map, you can tell they wanted to make a Zelda game real fast while working on a newer Zelda on the side in time for Switch 2. Most likely, the handheld team from the 3DS devision is making this while the console team has the 3D being ready. Remember Nin combined both their buildings into one, which was a smart move for releasing games without a drought.
I’m so excited for this game. I seriously just get so excited everytime I see new games for classic Nintendo series because all I can think about is the next smash bros and how they will update their movesets! Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, and even Bowser all have plenty of newer material to pull from for moves. Now Link, Ganondorf, and Zelda all have really great new stuff as well! Botw and totk have enough source material in themselves, but obviously there’s more source material in all Zelda games for ganondorf especially.
Having multiple slots in smash bros for Link, and having all 3 of them be the exact same just different models/sizes is the most wasteful and disappointing way to do that. I can understand if we need a classic link slot who plays similarly to the way Link always has in smash, and then totk Link that incorporates more botw and totk abilities. They could honestly do the same with Zelda. They could give us totk zelda, and classic zelda. Or they could just give us zelda with references to all Zeldas.
Not to mention all the new characters from the Zelda series alone they could/should add. I need Impa, Rauru, and Sonia added. New villains as well. Plenty of options. Literally just look at Hyrule Warriors and choose people. Sonia is like a desperate pick, but she’s so cool and it’s not like Sakurai hasn’t added characters who have no fighting in their source material. Look at what he did for Zelda, game and watch, villager, Isabelle, and literally so many other characters. It is possible guys. She could even just be a skin for Zelda or an echo for all I care. Zelda also needs skins that make her look like each of her different appearances. Sorry guys, Zelda main here. She has been my favorite character in any game since I was a wee litttle lad.
@@TayoEXE I agree but when it comes I have high hopes! I think there is at least a good 3 years until the next smash and that would be the earliest possibility.
It really looks like The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom (The Legend of Link :D) have the Same Overworld as A Link to the Past, because A Link to the Past is the Classic and one of the Best Zelda games of all time I would LOVE if Echoes of Wisdom have the Same Overworld as A Link to the Past, LOVE the Game looks like Link's Awakening Remake with a cute art style and it's coming in September 26 2 days before my Birthday September 28 yay, that video was good thank you Gamexplain! 💙
You think they would put good use of those big stones to make more towns by now since this is the third entry of the same time line of Link to the Past/A Link between worlds. 😅
You guys remember the good ole days when there were new games coming out and we barely knew anything about them until we bought them and actually played them and were super excited because of all the cool stuff we found? yea I miss those days too...
I'd be shocked if this game didn't atleast take place within the same era as A Link To The Past and A Link Between Worlds; it just makes a whole lotta sense to me!
I'm excited for the game, but not psyched about having the same map, especially after having Totk. I'd bet there will be a dark world as well, through the rifts.
I was a month late to TotK when it came out because I had started another file in BotW. I am making sure I don't make this mistake again, even if it means putting another game on temporary hold. I will be ready to play Echoes of Wisdom when it releases this September. I am so excited and looking forward to it.
@@anthonymanuel55000my thinking is that since this has the same art style as links awakening. The link in that game is the same one as LTTP and the oracle games so it probably takes place after those games but it could be another descendant after Link Between Worlds
I say it's probably before. I mean, we know Oren is a descendant of Ruto, but we don't know why. If the River Zora and Sea Zora are having a meeting in this game, it may explain the regal line containing both types at various points.
@@Doodle1678 I was kinda thinking that at first but Nintendo has reused the design for a Link in the past despite it not being the same incarnation of Link. For example, Minish Cap and Four Swords, Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks and Links Awakening and the oracles (but that ones kinda up for debate)
A lot of people seem upset with the similarities to LttP overworld. I'm not one of those people. I've wanted a more modern revisit to that world for a while. I know we got it with LBW, but that was on 3DS, not a console, and the light world was practically identical. This looks like an evolution of that world with expanded areas and in fancy new console graphics! Honestly, people making the connection to it possibly being LttP's overworld has actually made me way more hype for this!
This is actually reassuring to me, in a way. This gives it a stronger connection to the ALTTP/Oracle/LA incarnation of Link, also meaning the artstyle wasn't reused without cause. Perhaps the timeline hasn't been abandoned entirely
intrigued by the differing gameplay and i'm glad to see the dollhouse style return, less enthused about another zelda game set in the same hyrule and the fact that the echo wand is so similar to totk's autobuild. keeping an open mind
Four Swords Adventures: [exists] People on the internet: "This maps looks so much like the one from ALttP and ALBW! This game HAS to be in the DT because it's the ONLY timeline where Hyrule looks like this!" FSA: "Why do people keep forgetting about me? They ignore me like the plague, like I'm one of worst Zelda games ever made along with the Cd-i games or something. This is all Nintendo's fault for not re-releasing me and keeping me stuck in the Gamecube era!😭" Y'all may have forgotten about FSA, but I haven't!
I haven't forgotten the game, and I actually rather enjoyed it. That map is surprisingly close to that of A Link to the Past in ways, and even the Eastern Palace exists in it. I suppose it's no real surprise, considering the assets were imported and improved from Triforce of the Gods. However, some elements stand out a lot, like how classic Kakariko Village was replaced by the Temple of Darkness, Lake Hylia is atop a plateau where Zora's Waterfall would be, and Frozen Hyrule is directly south of Hyrule Castle. Still, the inspiration is there.
@@PeachToadstool Kakariko Village is still there actually. It's in the same area where the Temple of Darkness is. And yes, Lake Hylia is atop a plateau in that game. And that plateau is a large mountain. Which is why believe that this new game takes place after FSA. Perhaps, Lake Hylia moved due to that mountainous plateau becoming the new Frozen Hyrule area. While the Frozen Hyrule from FSA unfreezes and becomes the Great Swamp like from ALttP. What if this is actually the true CT parallel to the DT's ALttP? Hence why the map looks so much more similar to ALttP now in this game. Also, the CT really needs more games. DT already has plenty.
@@PJCVita92 Kakariko Village is north of Lost Woods, I believe, which is pretty different. But towns relocate, like with Kasuto in Zelda II. It's possible there could be an explanation for Death Mountain's appearance to the northeast in Four Swords Adventures, since that would be the non-volcanic Mount Hebra according to Triforce of the Gods. Maybe they're all just part of the Death Mountain Range, kind of like in Zelda II. It's massive in that game.
Someone actually told about paper zelda, but instead of paper, they are going with this artstyle, and I really love it to see. And based on the previous games, I think Nintendo is going for this artstyle for sure.
If it is, then they are probably doing A Link To The Past remake as well. They did say Link’s Awakening originally started as a remake of A Link To The Past until it was decided Link’s Awakening needed it more. Only makes sense
I don't think that's Mount Hebra - I think it's Mount Lanayru, home to the Spring of Wisdom. It looks like they're setting this in Eastern BotW Map Hyrule, and trying to map ALttP ontop of it. Which is nifty! It makes the Eastern Highlands into Necluda, with Lake Hylia south of them. Castle Town would be somewhere near the Crenal Hills or Trillby Valley, and ALttP Kakariko Village would line up then with Mabe Village Ruins / Ranch Ruins in BotW.
All this says to me is the next Direct is highly possibly to be in September to show more of this game, and get the hype going for the last 3 months of the year.
I sincerely hope they change the map significantly, because then if they don’t, it’ll be similar to how Sonic fans are getting sick of Green Hill Zone in EVERY game.
Why is everyone forgetting that A Link Between Worlds exists? A more fascinating comparison would’ve been ALBW’s overworld comparison to this one, since ALBW was the first return game to the downfall timeline so it is the first modern take on A Link to the Past’s overworld.
I Absolutely Love this Art Style of *The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom* Game. This completely different from *The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening Switch Remake* Game.
I am down to check out this game. I might not be as good as Tears of the Kingdom, but if this is going to be the last mainline Zelda game for the Switch, might as well make it stand-out. Also, I had a thought. If in the games where Link is playable and he doesn't speak but Zelda does, then in this game where Zelda is playable, she won't speak but Link might?
Seeing as though you can view almost the entire world map from the SNES game in a single screen shot, this is almost certainly going to expand beyond those original borders.
Revisiting a world we revisited 10+ years ago in a link between worlds is just pure laziness on nintendos part but I’m still excited for this nonetheless
We've seen what happens when Nintendo reused the same map with TotK so HOPEFULLY they do more the spice things up here. They seem to be doing that so far at least.
"Geldman" isn't exactly a mistranslation. In Japanese, L and R are the same letter, and consonants don't exist alone. Most consonants must be followed by a vowel. When Japanese people pronounce English words, R/L is often followed by a U, and D is normally followed by an O. Following those rules, GELD would be rendered in Japanese as GERUDO, and the translators probably thought "geldman" was the intended name--and they may have been correct, since the "gerudoman" is brown or golden coloured. That may, indeed, have been the originally intended meaning, just as Donkey Kong is not a donkey but a foolish ape. A fool = an ass, and the animal known as an ass = a donkey (the intended meaning is lost in translation).
That's a better extensive explanation of the situation, yeah. The only thing that made Geldman a mistranslation is the officialisation of Gerudo as the word. The Gerudos could have easily been called the Gelds and still been accurate. Consistency is what matters here the most, and I was demonstrating the important link that dates back to Geldarms (Gerudo Arms) in Zelda II.
Minish Cap did something similar, it even has a town in front of it's castle. I think Nintendo just likes to keep the landmarks as consistent as possible.
Man... that's actually a bit disappointing. I'm still looking forward to what they did and what's changed, but they already did a reimagining of this world once, we didn't really need it again. At least it does seem like they expanded the borders though!
It seems this game will be happening at the same age of Link to the Past, Oracle of Ages/Seasons and Link's Awakening. Probably Zelda and Link are the same of these games. I think Between Worlds is the same timeline, but not the same age.
They also just added the GBA version of ALTTP to NSO in this direct (too many acronyms) Plus how Link’s Awakening was already a sequel to ALTTP, and this new games shares that games art style. That kinda leaves the oracle games in a confusing place, is this the FIFTH game starring this Link/Zelda? (Though there’s already been weird debate on wether or not the oracle games are a new Link, and it’s still possible this new game is a sequel to A Link Between Worlds, and that Link has already jumped art styles before.)
judging from the fight link had in the trailer I would imagine this is an alternate timeline where link dissapears instead of finding the tryforce in a link to the past
The main timeline has link actually save Zelda before the Ganon fight, so it wouldn’t branch in the scene shown… I don’t think it’s going to be an alternate timeline, but it would be fascinating if Nintendo actually did this.
Imagine there’s a dark world that lets you switch to link with its own set of dungeons and items, would be legendary
Holy snap, never even thought about that. That would be huge
That would be ideal!! I’m also expecting some other gameplay mechanics other that copying items… but we’ll see 🤷♂️

I don't think there will be a new Smash any time soon? Ultimate really did a number on Sakurai, and is, well, ultumate.
Nice! And you're welcome!
@@PeachToadstool thanks!
Im so excited for this. 100% playing it.
I was a month late to TotK when it came out because I had started another file in BotW. I am making sure I don't make this mistake again, even if it means putting another game on temporary hold. I will be ready to play Echoes of Wisdom when it releases this September. I am so excited and looking forward to it.
Imagine we also control Link in some kind of dark world.
It would take place after A Link Between Worlds, that's for sure
I think it’s prly before Link to the past
@@anthonymanuel55000 Yeah the numerous Toon Links that look basically identical kinda disproves that sharing a design means anything
This Map is an Echo😂😂
In Age of Calamity she could float around and rain down light arrows, but I guess copypasta rod is fine. Infinite tables and boxes.
Well, it's hardly the same Zelda. There are lots of princesses throughout the timeline.
this was a pleasant surprise. was not expecting this at all.
intrigued by the differing gameplay and i'm glad to see the dollhouse style return, less enthused about another zelda game set in the same hyrule and the fact that the echo wand is so similar to totk's autobuild. keeping an open mind
Four Swords Adventures: [exists]
People on the internet: "This maps looks so much like the one from ALttP and ALBW! This game HAS to be in the DT because it's the ONLY timeline where Hyrule looks like this!"
FSA: "Why do people keep forgetting about me? They ignore me like the plague, like I'm one of worst Zelda games ever made along with the Cd-i games or something. This is all Nintendo's fault for not re-releasing me and keeping me stuck in the Gamecube era!😭"
Y'all may have forgotten about FSA, but I haven't!
I haven't beaten TOTK yet but I still can't wait for this
Will Zelda be silent? She usually talks. Will Link finally talk?
Echos of power : game based on ganondorf. And last echoes of courage. A 3 part game
Yeah definitely getting this
Nice analysis 👏🏻
I wish they did a complete new map...
I wonder if this is a prequel game, or does it take place after one of the timelines? Also, hopefully there is an update on Amiibo support.
When can we get a remake of "A Link to the Past" in this style? Or even "A Link Between Worlds," i love that game.
When i watched the trailer the 2nd time, my thought was "lorule is at it again..."
I'm super stoked she's a conjuror.
This means that ALTTP is now a trilogy omfg
Someone actually told about paper zelda, but instead of paper, they are going with this artstyle, and I really love it to see.
And based on the previous games, I think Nintendo is going for this artstyle for sure.
So this game takes a few decades after a Link between worlds?
Because now we got the new move in residence of Gorons Zora and the Gerudo?
Fascinating!
Must-have für dieses Jahr
I wonder if it will be part of the Fallen Hero timeline.
All this says to me is the next Direct is highly possibly to be in September to show more of this game, and get the hype going for the last 3 months of the year.
I sincerely hope they change the map significantly, because then if they don’t, it’ll be similar to how Sonic fans are getting sick of Green Hill Zone in EVERY game.
same. loved a lot of Link Between Worlds but it felt too familiar to Link the Past with its same world too.
This is one of the things I liked about Four Swords Adventures. It was inspired but not a direct copy
@@unj a Link between Worlds was a direct sequel, so it made sense to have the maps be at least 49.5% the same.
Death Mountain and this Beach from a clip are new as well to the alttp map
Why is everyone forgetting that A Link Between Worlds exists? A more fascinating comparison would’ve been ALBW’s overworld comparison to this one, since ALBW was the first return game to the downfall timeline so it is the first modern take on A Link to the Past’s overworld.
I Absolutely Love this Art Style of *The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom* Game. This completely different from *The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening Switch Remake* Game.
Wait, a Link Between Worlds has a totally different art style. This looks more like a sequel to the Link's Awakening HD remake.
Ya I can't wait to play it
so it kinda seems like its more like... an oot/tp similar maps situation then, between alttp and this, if I'm understanding right?
I am down to check out this game. I might not be as good as Tears of the Kingdom, but if this is going to be the last mainline Zelda game for the Switch, might as well make it stand-out. Also, I had a thought. If in the games where Link is playable and he doesn't speak but Zelda does, then in this game where Zelda is playable, she won't speak but Link might?
I mean this could be a New Timeline Split after A Link to the Past
Death mountain is on the left. Different map. With similar elements to those games
Yes, finally. I like A Link to the past and Link between worlds much better than Breath of the wild. Will definitely play it.
Nintendo 2016: „What you see here is just 1% of the map“ … would be awesome🙏
I noticed this right away
Seeing as though you can view almost the entire world map from the SNES game in a single screen shot, this is almost certainly going to expand beyond those original borders.
The stone ruins could be the original kakariko village
In a way this is a sequel to ALTTP AND ALBW, now if we could get ALTTP Remake on Switch with this same style, that would be cool.
Revisiting a world we revisited 10+ years ago in a link between worlds is just pure laziness on nintendos part but I’m still excited for this nonetheless
Breaking zelda conventions like how the old games had unique worlds and we cant have that🙄
We've seen what happens when Nintendo reused the same map with TotK so HOPEFULLY they do more the spice things up here. They seem to be doing that so far at least.
River soras and sea soras? But they had a grove in a river in ocarina..
When you reused the map from few decades ago but somehow made it fresh by making the gameplay a bit different
I'm looking at you Ubisoft
This incarnation of Link has been through a lot lmao
Not really, the Hyrule of MC is quite different on both a large and small scale.
Man... that's actually a bit disappointing. I'm still looking forward to what they did and what's changed, but they already did a reimagining of this world once, we didn't really need it again. At least it does seem like they expanded the borders though!
What if we go to a Dark world and Link plays a role similar to how Zelda did in Spirit tracks? 🤔
At this point The Legend of Hyrule would probably make the most sense
Probably takes place between link between worlds and zelda 1
It is the third time we have visited Hyrule, although this time it is seen to be more expanded.
i mean, give me a link to the past and a link between worlds on this map on the switch please... be a nice wee trilogy
I wonder if this game started as a remake for Link to the Past and then they got bored doing a remake
Was I the only one who wanted the title to become Legend of Link?
I didn't even think about that, but some had said "The Legend of Zelda: The Missing Link" was a missed opportunity for a title.
@@saraross8396 that would be an awesome title lol!
It seems this game will be happening at the same age of Link to the Past, Oracle of Ages/Seasons and Link's Awakening. Probably Zelda and Link are the same of these games. I think Between Worlds is the same timeline, but not the same age.
They also just added the GBA version of ALTTP to NSO in this direct (too many acronyms)
Plus how Link’s Awakening was already a sequel to ALTTP, and this new games shares that games art style.
Yes!
