How essential is the gel coat to your projects? Can it be skipped most of the time, or maybe use resin instead? Do you ever bake your carbon or just let it dry at room temp. Do you clear coat the parts or always use uv resin as top layer?
Hello, Buddy~ The gelcoat is very important in carbon fiber skinning. In carbon fiber skinning, It can attachment replace to epoxy resins or spray adhesives. But, The black gelcoat can cover the surface of the parts in black. If the base color of the parts is not black or darkness color, the base color may look fine after carbon fiber skinning.
