❤️🥰❤️ Hello S & M SQUAD, HAPPY HOLIDAYS !!! ☃️❄️🎄⭐️🔥🔥Another MEGA HIT by the “SULTRY & SEXY” sound of Ms. Dusty Springfield!!! 🔥🔥⭐️ The BEST part of this song was watching Shawn and Mel, “groove in time” together, to the music and lyrics. ⭐️🔥 B R A V A ~ EXEPCTIONAL PERFORMANCE D U S T Y!!! 🔥⭐️ ❤️🥰❤️ ❤️ 🥰❤️ S and M SQUAD IS THE BEST!!! ❤️🥰❤️
Dusty was one of the few British singers that my Jamaican parents absolutely adored. Her songs always brought my mother peace and calm as if reflecting on her difficult passage and years in the UK and hopes for the future. Burt Bacharachs songs were so 100% matched to the rare melancholic beauty in her voice, her interpretation and execution just made the songs legendary. When I hear her singing it brings my early 70s childhood right back.
Dusty was like no other singer. Sultry, evocative, soulful. Draws you into her world. She had such a knack for knowing what songs suited her distinctive voice. Can't get enough of her.
This is one of the great British female singers from the 60's. She had such a beautiful unique voice & covered many genres (blue-eyed soul, pop ,ballads, country, jazz). She had a lot of hits such as "I Only Want To Be With You", "I'll Try Anything", "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me", "Wishin' & Hopin' ", "The Look Of Love", "The Windmills Of Your Mind", "Son Of A Preacher Man", "I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself" & many more.
probably our best female singer for pitch, tone and emotional delivery, very unique but this type of material suited her down to the ground.burt, hal and dusty together I think have given us here one the greatest chorus's ever in pop music.
Another great Burt Bacharach composition, He and Hal David produced some of the most beautiful songs of all time and many great artists especially Dionne Warwick gained fame from their music. You never can go wrong with a Bacharach/ David song and Dusty makes this one so sultry.
Dusty was my "female vocalist" hero, back in the day. I wore eye make-up like hers ... I even briefly changed my name to "Dusty" (in the 8th grade)! ;-)
Dusty was unique yet she was a power with her voice and her songs… One of the best vocalist I think of her time both here in the US and around the world.
Sultry, sensual, sensational = Dusty Springfield. Thank you, dear Shawn and Mel for commenting on this legendary singer and her timeless rendition of Burt Bacharach/Hal David's masterful love ballad "Look of Love".
I openly wept on the train when i heard Dusty had passed away. She wa unique. Her career was revived with a couple of collaborations with the Pet Shop Boys. Worth checking out and yes she was very underated during her time
Love Dusty and this song’s Boson-ova beat is so beautiful- silky smooth. You two are too cute when listening to romantic songs… Love your “love” reactions. 💕❤️💕
She {Dusty Springfield) was part of the 1960's British Invasion which helped changed Rock & Roll music forever here in the states. This great song was written for the 1967 James Bond movie "Casino Royale." The great song writing team of Burt Bacharach and Hal David wrote this great song for the film. It was sung by none other than England's great songstress Dusty Springfield. It charted #22 on Billboard, #29 on Cash Box and #43 on Record World. She truly was amazing. Please do more of her songs. You will be pleasantly surprised. Note: Dionne Warwick also did a cover of this song too. It also is worth listening and reacting to.
You found one of the best love songs ever written.! Picture a classy cocktail lounge in the 60’s with your new love. Both of you dressed to the nines. “Would you like to dance?” MY GOD! What a time!
Yes Dusty was underated except by those who really followed her career. She was specially talented with a lovely voice. She made many beautiful songs. Great reaction.😊👍

Mel and Shawn have spoken the truth - Dusty Springfield is amazing! This song, "The Look of Love", has haunted me with its smoky, sultry atmosphere for over 50 years. Along with Dionne Warwick, Dusty sings the Bacharach/David songbook with beauty, grace, and style.
That was so beautiful guys, loved watching your reaction. It brought back a lot of happy memories for me. I can remember being about 12 years old and being at a wedding reception, and watching all the adults out on the dance floor swaying romantically to this song. Seeing my Mom and Dad dance, holding each other with the love light in their eyes. I have always thought slow dancing was the most magical thing. Her voice is one of a kind. There have been many renditions of this song, but no one sings it like Dusty!! :)
Dusty (Mary Kathryn O'Brien) was one of the greatest singers ever. I appreciated you reacting to a few songs of hers. So glad she got inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame a few days after her passing. She truly deserves that honor
Dusty (Mary Katherine O'Brien) was one of the greatest singers ever! I was a big fan of hers in the mid 60s. Thankfully she was inducted into the R. & R Hall of Fame a few days after her passing. RIP Mary, yr very sadly missed!

Oh, Dusty captures that flutter in the heart when gazing upon one's heart's desire with the knowledge of how good it is to be close & breathing them in. Good stuff!!
So much desire and romance in this one. Perfect for a dinner for two romantic evening with that special someone. Nice slow dance and romance.. The instruments as well, just add that extra touch.
I so admire your process of doing this deep-dive on American popular music from the 2nd half of 20th C and into the 21st. You now have greater exposure to this music than most Americans. We all tend to listen to the music of our generation. Next stop: The 1940s. Start with Sentimental Journey by Les Brown and his Band of Renown with singer Doris Day. Carry on...
wonderful bosanova musical background. Dusty was a great singer with a soul, R&B touch. Listen to Breakfast in bed, a song from the point of the "other woman"
Thank You Shawn & Mel !! Dusty will live on forever ! Pls. Look up More of her music !! Aretha Franklin turned down "Son of a Preacher Man" & Dusty took it to the top of the charts !
Two other artists who recorded great versions of this are Sergio Mendes & Brasil66 and Herb Alpert who was the "A" in A & M Records and also plays trumpet on this Dusty recording. Music composed and arranged by Burt Bacharach, lyrics by Hal David, RIP
Dusty was in the states touring with The Springfields (a folk/country trio she was in with her brother Tom). She heard “Tell Him” by the Exciters playing from a record store. She fell in love with the sound. The rest as they say is history. She was a beautiful soul, and loved music probably more than being a star. Her personal record collection was the stuff of legend. She kept close with the small circle of friends that were there with her in the beginning to the end. She was generous with other artists. She knew everyone and could sing anything. Her catalog is deep. She was so much more than the track she is commonly associated with -“Son of A Preacher Man”

She was big back in the day. Soulful woman from the UK.

Dusty deserves 1 million likes! Her voice is like a woodwind instrument and it pairs so well with that sax solo. DO MORE DUSTY!!!
Dusty was my "female vocalist" hero, back in the day. I wore eye make-up like hers ... I even briefly changed my name to "Dusty" (in the 8th grade)! ;-)
Boy I love your reaction you are so authentic, and appréciative of all kind of songs no matter what the year.
love you guys
Dusty was unique yet she was a power with her voice and her songs… One of the best vocalist I think of her time both here in the US and around the world.

This was pretty much the only good thing in that movie
Love Dusty's voice! Another artist was Jackie DeShannon. Find her song, "what the world need now"
I agree, I love that song. Every time I hear it it reminds me of the Dean Martin MS telethons.
Oh yes, Jackie for sure.
Also "Put a Little Love in Your Heart." Both are great songs.
Such a stunning voice, I have always loved it!
You found one of the best love songs ever written.! Picture a classy cocktail lounge in the 60’s with your new love. Both of you dressed to the nines. “Would you like to dance?” MY GOD! What a time!

Dusty really had one of the most beautiful, soft, sexy and angelic voices ever!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Omg I’ve forgotten this great song lol loving it!
Two classics of Dusty's: "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me" and "I Only Wanna Be With You"
Please note that the trumpet in the background is by the one and only and incomparable and legendary Herb Alpert!
The term, Blue-eyed Soul was coined for Dusty Springfield.

Yo! That's that baby making music right there! Dusty's voice crosses over from a Sax to a Flute ... pure heaven!
The Look of Love was in SHAWN'S eyes for sure 😍
AWW C'mon now Shawn and Mel...YOU had the look of love during that whole song...you sweethearts.
Nice! Love Dusty 💗
Dusty was one of the best ever. A real singer. Great choice and reaction, guys!!
This is sublime!
Dusty. I had a huge crush on her, as a 10 year old! :)

I'm pretty sure that you'll also love her 1963 hit I Only Want To Be With You and her 1966 hit You Don't Have To Say You Love Me. 🎶
Can you imagine how many babies were conceived because of this song
I so love you guys! There's such a good vibe between you and thank you for sharing it with us. I also love the blonde hair, you look beautiful Mel. Keep on rockin' you're the best!
If that doesn't get to you I don't know what would! Dusty is brilliant, never more so than with this ode to love.
Surely the best song from any James Bond fillum. 'All the time in the World' [Louis Armstrong] runs it close-ish, and sounds quite similar to me.
Dusty CAN sing anything.... Classics, jazz, blues, soul, pop, rock, Broadway show tunes, folk, country, she can sing it all. Listen to her sing Mockingbird with Jimi Hendrix.
Love the music you're listening to.
S . I SEE YOU FEEDING Mel grapes and dressed in a smoking jacket...that's a very romantic song sets a sweet love mood.. and I liked how you 2 both turned your heads to each other at the same time xoxo 😘 thank you 😊😘
Hey Melissa, thank you so much for watching. We really enjoyed the song😀❤️
Please react to Dusty Springfield, "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me". Thanks!
That’s as good as it gets right there !
I wanted to hear more of her voice in this song. It's just so delicate, something for real.
Check out Dusty's great voice singing 'Going Back' by Carole King, and her then husband, Jerry Goffin....awesome tear maker...🇬🇧
Shawn was seeing that look.
A+++
Definitely baby making music!
Dusty was right up there ! So sincere and graceful. Heard many of her songs in my youth and didn't know her name !
Her voice is awesome! No one like her.
Dusty amazing
Kudos to composer Burt Bacharach too.
Dionne Warwick, covered the song in the late 1960's. I think you'll really like the rhythm of SERGIO MENDES & BRASIL'66 cover of the song.
Glad you guys are enjoying some real music preformed by REAL TALENT.
I remember as a teenager listening to this on the radio and daydreaming about what she might look like.
Gentle and smooth. Listening to this reminds me you guys need to check out Julie London. I guarantee you will love it
Hello Shawn and Mel! I watch a lot of song reactions , loving music and the way folks react! Can tell you/ you guys bring me laughter and joy! don`t change a thing , your simply #1 ! Bless you continued success ! Jim Marino

She had such a cool sexy voice. Whenever she was played on the radio you just had to stop and listen.
So much desire and romance in this one. Perfect for a dinner for two romantic evening with that special someone. Nice slow dance and romance.. The instruments as well, just add that extra touch.
I had such a crush on Dusty when I was a kid back in the sixties. Hope you check out "Son of a Preacher Man." Keep up the good work guys!

She was battling cancer while doing a music video with " The Petshop Boys ". Henry Mancini did cameos in several of their videos.
Will you ever hear a more sultry and soulful song ? just wonderful :)
Check out her bio, there are a couple of great docs on YT. She was a gem of a person, and so talented.
You two are so adorable. Thanks for this!
