@@Wes_From_TC Oh nice the brought back that. I thought they''ve gotten rid of that in the previous Green lantern comic because of what happened at the end when they restored the power battery.
A good Hal Jordan and John Stewart Green Lantern? Oh yeah! I love the dichotomy. Hal Jordan is the charmer, the rogue, the leading man. John Stewart is the planner, the architect, the marine. Both are incredibly strong willed and great Green Lanterns. They just do the job in different ways. Having both back is going to be awesome. Haven't enjoyed Green Lantern since Geoff Johns left (sorry - I know you love Robert Venditti Wes, I found his work boring and dropped it after 3 issues), so really hope this is a return to form. I agree with your assessment, Wes. I have a great deal of trust in Adams (he did write 2 eps of the animated series). I was fortunate to be able to interview both Adams and Johnson recently and I think Green Lantern is in the best hands they've been in in some time. Hal is back, thankfully! The John Stewart series is currently planned as a limited series, but it may go longer if the response to it is good.
I had no intention of picking up the new Green Lantern series. Not ever been a big favorite of mine and even though I grew up in the Silver Age, I'm pretty over Hal Jordan. I fucking loved this issue. I thought Jeremy Adams using Top Gun: Maverick as a basis for this run was a great idea. And the PKJ backup story was also good. Things are looking up for Green Lantern. And to think that we almost got Mariko Tamaki to relaunch GL. Massive bullet dodged.

This comic felt cinematic; drinking on the top of a trailer staring at the stars, stepping on the gas to hit a supervillain, danger zoning through an obstacle course. Jeremy Adam's knows what's cool. I even liked that Hal was kind of a dick. He's been hanging with space gods. He won't understand the value of earth tech. Been out of the game for a while but GL is my favorite for sure and you’ve piqued my curiosity with this new run. Granted, I wish Kyle was in the spotlight but I’ll take any good GL story at this point. Sounds like this may be a good time to get back to the shop.

I wish DC would do a new Who's Who In The DC Universe maxi series like in the 80's. Maybe do a technical manual as well. What are the mechanics of a Green Lantern ring? How did the Golden Age Hawkman's wings work? I mean, two yellow straps and wings? What allows them to flap?

Green Lantern was always a great concept, similar to the Jedi Knights. It could have been and should have been executed so much better than it ever was. Unfortunately, it has pretty much sucked from the beginning, regardless of whether it was Hal Jordan or one of those other guys. I'm wondering, Wes, if you ever read the single-issue story of the young Vietnamese boy who became Green Lantern after his Grandmother died? She was Green Lantern and he somehow got her ring. On the topic - I would love to have a main line Kyle GL comics, as him being an artist in the universe, the real artists can get extremely creative with his constructs. Alsohe has a more spritual connection to his powers, similar to Wally to the speed force. I kinda liked his white lantern run, but the cosmic Jesus vibe is too overpowered to work consistently as a story engine - or they don't have the writers to pull it off at least.
