John Stewart wants nothing more than to start a new, normal life for himself on Earth, but the universe may not let him. As multiple threats from space arrive on his doorstep, can John hold onto his new way of life? Does he even truly want to? And can any cosmic crisis really be worse than the very real problems facing his family?

I’ve always liked how Johns Will Power is defined by restraint. Where he maintains his composure, keeps everything in control while not letting everything out.
I like how the aliens John was saving in a flashback looked like Saint Walker's species. It's a nice reference to the blue lanterns and makes me wonder if it's a foreshadowing
I really like how both series are dealing with Hal and John adjusting to life on earth. Its honestly a topic that doesn't get showcased enough in comics or at least done well. But the idea of having this amazing ring able to construct things at a whim, save people and be hero across the galaxy and the reality of coming home with this sense of normalcy in the face of previous exhilaration and adrenaline honestly is a nice mirror for people in the military or high adrenaline professions and as someone in that line of work and experience I am here for it.
I really loved this issue and truly shows how PJK fully understands John as a character and what defines him as character
Feels fantastic being a GL fan right now, from the wonderful start of Hal's series to a fantastic start here too, so happy with all we have been given so far
Extremely happy with them bringing back the dead sister angle too, it was such a good part of Winnick's run that felt completely forgotten once Johns took over. Hope we get more previous lore for John in these books from pre 2000s
I choose to believe Shepherd is a Mass Effect reference which makes him already one of my favourite lanterns. Excited to learn more about him
A great start. Definitely interested and invested.
John must be going through hell. Watching your family wither away in mind and body is a pain I can empathize with, but to have the power of a god and still only be able to make your family’s life as comfortable as you can has to be so much worse. From what we see of Varron, I’m surprised he can even make constructs. If people like him are getting rings, Mogo must not have any involvement in the vetting process for lantern recruitment. Also, interesting to note that his uniform is a lot more ornate than what I would expect from a lantern, though customized uniforms are nothing new to the GLC. Still, it makes me wonder if the United Planets might have turned the GLC into an organization that holds more symbolic meaning and power than one that’s meant to actively combat galactic threats. They did seem quite eager to establish their own galactic police force in the last run, but maybe without the Guardians they just decided to stick with the GLC and give the members of their police force rings.
The voice in Shepherd’s ring is that universe’s Kyle, because he talks about him being blind, and since that universe is based off of the Dark Crisis universe where Kyle is blind, and Guy even said that Kyle sent Shepherd to be trained by Guy.
I wonder if anymore of John’s family members are gonna make an appearance like his brother who appeared in the same story where they talked about the death of his sister.
I’m glad we’re getting a reveal on who the Revenant Queen is in issue 2 I’m hoping it’s Katma.
Right on the money it’s definitely Kyle.
A very good start to the series, and a good complement to the main book. As for John I hope he can find peace.
I enjoyed this book more than the first three books in the new Hal title. I’m glad we finally get a little explanation of how this present connects to the end of the last GL title. I do not enjoy the storyline of lanterns from another galaxy or wherever but it does look like it’s going to be interesting.
A green lantern podcast? What!!
this story is super interesting so far.
I really can’t wait to see what this ring is because my first thought was why couldn’t they just have used a black ring instead of making a new one, the other rings don’t get enough love as is and making a new one that survives the same purpose is pointless. Also this is the 3rd ring that uses a shade of purple, 4 if u could star sapphires because violet is purple.
Hmmm the Radiant Dead.....a black lantern corp from another universe? Or something more. While I love the introduction of new rings after the dead ends of the ultra violet and phantom rings I'm tempering my excitement.
