Bro what are you smoking dawg, GL was always one of the top seller in DC. And the john run is pretty much in the top 5 greatest comic run and event. By himself if you want to do a movie about it it would take up to 7 movies + several season of a show just for his 1 greatest run.
@@spookynigga3112 wttffff bro i said DC thinks that i love green lantern but warner brothers clearly has a batman fetish and green lantern doesn’t fit it for them read my comment
WB cares about profit. Thats how business operates. Those "other characters" did not bring in the revenue Batman did. Even when there were attempts to give Green Lantern his own show, movie, and even comics. Sales, revenue, and overall customer count is relatively low. There are simply keyboard warriors demanding more of it, but real world sales are abysmal.
@@elliotsturtplus340 wym? Superman has always been the face of DC, and the justice league. He’s always received love, even if his live action movies were pretty mid lol.
Of course they hate the superhero whose entire superpower is imagination, because that’s like the plague or something to so many modern writers. They just… are like so brain dead that they can’t use the Lantern Ring for anything, LEGO Batman 3 is probably the only game besides Injustice that uses more of the Lantern colors than just green.
it’s funny bc you don’t even have to be that creative to make a hal movie, he’s like the least ingenuous of the main 3 lanterns half the time he wins is bc he’s a fountain of willpower so he just raw willpowers them to death. which is great and i love it but im just so confused on how this hasn’t been done well on the big screen yet.
I mean dcuo allows you to become green, yellow, or red, AND represents ALL lantern cores as NPCs (even if most are primarily just people to fight) But that game was shown at E3 2010...
Uh huh, it's the cultural marxist indoctrination, it kills their creativity because they infect their product with their evil messaging, they're like actual hydra from the Avengers, so cringe
The Green Lantern corps is the most underrated and underutilized storylines in DC. You can easily make them into a Sci fi Video game, you can have them in a movie series, we can see the Sinestro core war, Black Lanterns, we also have four main characters plus aliens to follow. Make this series happen. At this point I don't care if its Hal Jordan, John Stewart, I want Kyle Rayner. Make Green Lantern happen.
You could literally make a game on the scale of WARFRAME with how vast and rich The Green Lantern Corps is. *_I'M NOT SAYING IT NEEDS TO BE EXACTLY LIKE WARFRAME (Lord knows I will not go back to grinding Plastids on Europa for 12 hours again)_* I'm just saying with a DC that actually gives a shit, you could give licensing to someone who could make an entire Sci-Fi Opera *_ON THE SCALE_* of WarFrame, and they just won't. And I really don't get why. You'd think DCUO would've shown them that an audience for The Lantern Corps is out there, and they're just ignoring it.
@@Jamushu Could you imagine a sci-fi role-playing and single-player/multiplayer video game about Green Lantern where you get to create/customize your own Green Lantern alien or human member and explore the DC intergalactic side, its massive roster of alien species and deep fascinating lore and worldbuilding with such an almost unlimited scope similar to something like Baulder Gate III or Mass Effect?

I never understand why it’s so EASY to remove a Green lantern ring from his finger even Batman was able to do it, like bruh… the best Green Lantern adaption so far was Green Lantern First flight
@SoddingHero It USED to be the only way a Green Lantern could remove their ring was if they were killed. I guess easily removing it allows for comedic antics like what we say in Justice League War.
@emperorsean1 No kidding. With all the lore, characters and use of Lantern powers, Green Lantern has a lot to offer. But they don't wanna risk it like thinking the Green Lantern series automatically sucks when nit doesn't.

Yeah...being a Green Lantern fan in the modern era is one of the toughest pills to swallow. The Green Lantern mythos is so interesting to me. For outsiders looking in, they may just see it as some guy who has a highly advanced ring that can create anything -- but it's so much more than that. Learning about the entities of each emotion, the Guardians of Oa, the other various Lantern Corps, etc. are what make the Green Lantern mythos so fascinating and bountiful with storytelling potential. Atrocitus and Dex-Starr's individual stories alone are compelling enough to be explored on the big screen.

FACTS, ABSOLUTE FACTS! Especially when they had such amazing storytelling, good animation and writing with complex, likeable and interesting characters, and they were even building up iconic storylines Sinestro Corps War and Blackest Night, which both could've been INCREDIBLE to see adapted.
I remember watching a comedy skit where the comedian is talking about potty training his dogs. "When my Golden Retriever poops on the floor, I stick his nose in it, and he realizes 'oh, I'm not supposed to poop HERE.' When my Chihuahua pooped on the floor, I stuck his nose in it, and he realizes 'oh, I'm not supposed to poop EVER.'" When DC made Batman and Robin and that failed, they thought "Oh, we're not supposed to make a Batman movie THIS WAY." When DC made Ryan Reynolds' Green Lantern, they thought "Oh, we're not supposed to make a Green Lantern movie EVER." Green Lantern is Warner Bros' Chihuahua.
@fearlessleader889 It can be, but the problem is that when they make it dark and gritty, they tend to remove all the fun. In trying to make themselves seem different from Marvel, they remove the nice moments that truly make us fall in love with a character. Hollywood has forgotten how to make superhero movies
@@DavidMartinez-ce3lp I think the problem is that they think they have to be one or the other. A batman movie can be dark, and a Superman movie can be lighter, and they can coexist in the same cinematic universe.
@fearlessleader889 Yeah, exactly. But they seem to think the whole universe has to be dark or campy, instead of a combination of the 2 like it is. I'd actually say Sam Raimi found the perfect blend of the 2 with his Spiderman trilogy. He would do an amazing job directing a Batman film, especially with how he can hit the darker tones with his horror background, while also maintaining adding in campier elements.
GL biggest weakness is the charge limit on his riing. Other than that, his power is virtually limitless. When Batman devised a plan to defeat the Justice League he attacked Hal's will/mind, not his ring power.
Hal Jordan also made a cameo in Arrow. His face is obscured, but you can see someone standing in front of the camera wearing a pilot jacket with the name tag "Jordan". Later on in The Flash, Barry states that Ferris Aircraft went out of business after their test pilot went missing. Would've been nice if this was followed up on...
Its so weird how DC just fucked so up badly with animated at around after 2013 since before that Green Lantern stuff had a really strong showing in animated stuff. With DCAU being such a good characterization of their John Stewart, that he became popular enough to add things to comics cannon, like introducing him being a Marine Soldier to his cannon considering before he was just a architect in his original run. Or the the film Green Lantern: First Flight which really is a good intro to the mythos of the green lanterns, while also showing a decent characterization Hal Jordan along with a really good Sinestro. And finally Green Lantern: The Animated Series which a great show cancelled way to early for its time that showed the best of Green Lantern stuff and my boy Kilowog being front in center with main cast and just some throw way character like the Live action film along with new original characters like Aya and Razer. Hopefully the new Live action show bring much needed respect the material considering the green Lantern world on it's own separate from DC has a ton of interesting stuff attached to it with the Lantern Cores and Backstory of the Guardians of the Universe.
I would also like to add that the Green Lantern Corps is seen throughout the DC universe as Space cops. They embark on multiple peacekeeping operations in different sectors of the universe, which means there is so much potential in exploring themes like political battles of different worlds depending on their culture and origins, as well as introducing dangerous alien criminals and/or bounty hunters.

That Green Lantern animated show made me love the character as a kid, outside of Batman's gallery the yellow, and red lanterns are some of my favorite DC villians so its sad to see that we haven't really gotten anything good on any of them since Injustice 2
I agree entirely Green Lantern's Rogues Gallery is incredibly underrated, and some of the villains, if written well and given true passion and understanding, could all be incredibly deep and interesting antagonists for a live-action collection of Green Lantern movies, for example: - Sinestro - a former Green Lantern who was a cherished member and great role model who fell down a dark path of no longer wanting to see the universe suffer under the hypocrisy of the Guardians and understanding how unjust they truly are, leading him to have a warped perception of what true justice should be achieved by, losing faith in the power of will and saw the horror and chaos of criminals and warlords seeking to use fear as a method to achieve so-called "peace" and betraying the friends and family he has grown to care for but still believe what he's doing is right. - Larfleeze - a being powered by his own greed and hubris for an undying thirst for everything he can possess) - Krona - a former Guardian who was shunned by his brothers and sisters for seeking to understand the universe, and his ambition to know the origin of the universe drove him to madness and cruel exile - The Manhunters are soul-less emotionless machines acting as the antithesis to the Emotional Spectrum and wish to kill emotions as part of a twisted programme to prevent war and crimes as they believe emotions drive us to create chaos - Atrocitus and the Red Lanterns - victims of genocide and a massacre covered up by the Guardians and rightfully seek vengeance for all the lives and world wiped out by the Manhunters, which can make them good sympathetic villains driven by loss, sadness and pure rage - Black Hand and Nekron - beings embodying the end of everything where emotion and life mean nothing and all that is left is the cold shiver of death as an inescapable fate and abyss that comes for all of us
Saw the title and immediately agreed with you. Ain’t no way they introduced my goat and fan favorite John Stewart only to kill him off and He’s used so sparingly as it is like. It’s just disheartening. 😤
The Green Lantern ( Hal Jordan, specifically) IS my favorite superhero. When every one wanted to pretend to be Spiderman or Superman or Wolverine or a Hulkamaniac- I wanted to be Green Lantern ...and the guy from The Greatest American Hero (-without the broccoli hair, tho). When I was a kid I really wanted to believe that if you were courageous and brave enough, a ring would come fly out of the sky and choose you... And make you a Jedi...! I love Green Lantern Comics, because they were in space, and had all kinds of different aliens and different planets. I wanted to live out those adventures. I wanted to go out in space and see all that shit. I loved the Green Lantern Animated Series, which I keep re-watching to this day! Lastly, I'll say this, and this may be the fan boy in me talkin' but, even if the movie wasn't that good, I still went crazy for it. -I love it, and I was so excited that Ryan Reynolds played Hal Jordan.
I totally agree with you on the disrespect that DC is giving to all Green Lanterns now. In the past, it was a legit debate who was more powerful Green Lantern or superman. And Green Lantern use to be able to hold his own against superman and every other superhero. Now, the so called most powerful weapon in the universe, a Green Lantern ring, is constantly beaten by virtually every one and is nothing to fear. No one should be able to have a chance against even two Green lanterns let alone all of them. There are too many Green lanterns and they are constantly being beaten in fights. Green Lantern, especially John Stewart, used to be one of my favorites superheroes. But the way they write the characters now, like everything else DC these days, I will just pass on now.
Off topic, not only green lantern should get a movie but martian manhunter. He never has had a live action stand-alone movie. He's always been treated as this side character, but his back story is so sad and should be explored more. As well as his villains.
I liked how they explored his story in the beginning of the Justice League show. Wish they would've taken inspiration from the show for the movie, instead of immediately making them fight Darkseid.
Martian Manhunter is also DCs equivalent to Storm but worse. He always gets done dirty despite having one of the most diverse powersets. Can stand toe to toe with base Superman physically. Shape-shifting, Intangibility, Telekinesis, I mean the dude is broken.
this is exactly what i've been saying for the past 10+ years. I've gotten so damn tired with DC and how they treat Green Lantern and its fans. They continuously and relentlessly disrespected the characters, the stories and the potential for its lore. Here's a list of what little we got in the past 13 years. -Green Lantern: The Animated Series, the last great piece of Green Lantern media outside the comics -The GL 2011 movie, which started all this mess. -A Green Lantern Corps movie which was originally announced in 2014, then canned. -A Green Lantern show described as "Lethal Weapon in Space", which was canned along with the rest of the DCEU. -an unnanamed alien Lantern in Josstice League, on screen for a grand total of 5 seconds, who gets promptly killed. -Apart from a speech about Lanterns and Kryptonians in ZSJL, its plans for John and Hal in the Snyderverse, canned. -The endless barrage of John Diggle/Stewart teases from the Arrowverse, especially since the Arrow finale onwards. -The blink-and-you-miss-it frame in which a flight jacket with the name "Jordan" appears in an Arrow flashback -how they used Deathstorm on The Flash -we saw Coast City a few times i guess, most notably in the Flash pilot -The one and only animated film about Green Lantern in the new (post reboot) DCAMU, which was forgettable at best. -brief teases and mentions of Alan Scott and a couple episodes with Jenny on Stargirl after so much fan request. -a brief appearance of Razer as a hybrid lantern in Young Justice (which is probably the most amount of respect we ever got as fans since the animated show) -Jessica Cruz in......DC Superhero Girls....lord have mercy -2 Lantern-themed DLC for DCUO (which is great, if you like mindlessly grindy, moneygrabbing, Pay2Play MMOs) -John Stewart in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League........😫😫😫 -Hal, Sinestro and Atrocitus in Injustice and its sequel (which were admittedly awesome but lasted a couple minutes at best). -a few appearances here and there in other animated movies. I probably forgot some but you can see how all this paints a clear picture of continuous disrespect. Green Lantern is a founding member of the Justice League, he has some of the biggest ever lore in comics, enough to sustain its own franchise and it has a huge fanbase of ever-increasingly tired and dissatisfied fans. All it took was one mid movie to make DC think "no one cares about Green Lantern". I already don't have a lot of hope for this Lanterns show. When they pitched it, they described how it's a "land-based buddy-cop adventure" and i'm here like: "if this is gonna be primarily Earth-based, then why in the world would you need the Green Lanterns for it? Literally anyone else would work the same". Like, you have an entire family of characters who have entire galaxies to protect and travel through in the blink of an eye....and you stick 'em on Earth? WHY????
Another reference is back in Flash season one where Flash meets up with Captain Cold at Ferris Air, and mention the missing test pilot that got the place shut down

Geoff Johns put GL on the path to success when he started writing the main book, but then the movie came along and ruined everything, even getting the cartoon cancelled. DC lost faith in one of their most popular characters because they made s bad movie.
@@l0sts0ul89 Literally the big defining draw out of lots of awesome draws is that Lanterns literally use their own imagination as a weapon. Lanterns, in addition to standard constructs learned from their training in Oa often use constructs based on their own personal experiences, preferences, and etc. IE, their own creativity. And the constructs that are the most creative/personalized are often the most effective and the ones that get memed on and beat the big bad in the end. Not having a custom construct creator for the player to experience this selling point of the lanterns would be criminal. Even a limited one where you need some form of XP or in-game currency to unlock all features would be better than nothing, and it's not that hard. If you can make a character creation system, then you can make a construct creation system that don't require the same level of meshes or details, just basic geometry modeling at its core.
@@VunderGuy And that would be impossible to fucking do in a game you moron 💀 acting like making whatever you want and a character creation system are the same thing doesn't make any sense. Making things a simple mesh would defeat the whole purpose of a Green Lantern game. It's impossible to do it with the level of tech we currently have which is why I proposed only certain stages in the gam. There's nothing cool about making Tetris blocks to beat up your enemies. Like I'm just as passionate as you but it's literally impossible to do accurately
@@VunderGuy Dude wtf are you on, id be impossible to accurately portray GLs powers a character creation system and literally making anything you want isn't the same thing. Making simple geometry isn't gonna be a fun thing to do and wouldn't be accurate to the source material, best thing I can think of is using the environmental assets of the game but just see through and green.
Again, the only difference between a construct creation system and a character creation system are the levels of meshing and textures. Literally all you have to do is take an already existing character creation system, put a green lighting filter over everything so that the objects look like hard light, and let people model their construct. If your game allows for simple geometry, you can achieve a construct creation system.

Tommorowverse taking Kyle's origin and giving it to John Stewart, doing a disservice to both characters, and just for fun, also ruining Hal's Parallax Arc was the first instance I thought "Oh no" for the Tomorrowverse. Gunn pushing for there to be at least 4 Green Lanterns in his new DCU does have me optimistic, though. Here's to you, Hal, John, Guy, and Booster.
THIS is so absolutely true. But *Geoff Johns the absolute mofo* is a BIG reason behind it all. WB seems to think Johns OWNs Green Lantern, as if he created him and that again independently and DC's just lending his IP whenever they are having any GL in their shows or movies. WBD's investors need to see this.
Theyre are actually making a show with Hal and John! The only problem is that we have ex-CIA dickhead Tom King as one of the main writers, and I really don't think he can stop himself from ruining their characters
Cooking at the end asking all those questions. So many things the league could've done to preemptively assess how big of a threat Braniac was, but no... walk into the spaceship of an alien invader for negotiations
Im not the only one who thought Floyd Lawton was written to be pissed at John Stewart for no reason besides theyre both black and deadshit is a black criminal and Green Lantern is a Space COP.
Yeah cause you know deadshot being a litteral mercenary would not care cause he got bills to pay and doesn't do space stuff he has nothing in common with John outside his skin and Considering he deals with literally aliens John wouldn't care about him either
Gotta love how they often depict the heroes of willpower as just floating guys who shoot green energy beams. It's even worse in those at home movies, since they gave Hal Jordan the personality of Flash and power of energy beams with the occasional forcefield. I'm not surprised by it though, cause those at home movies were made to prop up Batman and Damian with fanfiction level bias. There's a reason that Hal Jordan doesn't bust out all of his cool constructs, but instead is a joking laser beam.
I don't understand why DC can't get this right when they already have a perfect blueprint in the DCAU. Any of the two parters padded out would make a perfect movie.
I just want Harold Lawrence Jordan. As in the real OG Hal. Couldn't care less for John, especially with the most recent version. The first Green Lantern cartoon movies where the best, but still never captured the true power of charisma and character that made him the godlike power-house of the DC universe. He's supposed to be the charisma king of Don't Give Fs About Fear as if it was a true OP anime MC. The guy came back to life from death just because he has a score to settle with the new gods and shaped entire realities to his will to bring everyone back to life even without ever becoming a White Lantern. Barry and Hal are the living incarnations of time and space in the DC universe and I'd like to FINALLY see a proper adaptation from someone who actually cares enough to read all the comics like an actual fan to do justice to the JUSTICE League of America!
DC refuses to learn from their failures or the MCU's failures. Putting all the work on James Gunn is a great way to cause burnout, look at Kevin Feige and how the MCU's doing now thatnks to not having a plan and just churning out shows and movies that lack the quality they proved superhero movies could have. DC keeps trying to create an MCU without creating the necessary building blocks. We need good movies for the founding Justice Leaguers: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern.
I don’t know why that dog walkin away with that side eye felt personal 😢😂 And bro you did not need to include that RDCWorld reaction to Jon Stewart gettin demolished like that, sh*t was devastating to watch! 🤣💀
Yes they do. Pre crisis, GL was a casually omnipotent character. He's beaten all manner of superman level and cosmic beings beyond superman. In the past 15 years especially, GL has been minimized and marginalized. His constructs shatter like sugar glass. They forget his ring can do anything, but they limit him to fragile constructs and a few beams. They conveniently limit his power. It's way down from before. They allow him to be beaten like a 3rd rate street punk. Now he couldn't even be a serious threat if he was a supervillain. His once "most powerful weapon in the universe" has often no effect on the same level characters he used to beat. He is quickly taken out/omitted from DCAU When they give a different character a GL ring, they make that character equally or more powerful than experienced top lanterns like Stewart or Jordan They can't decide if the ring ONLY works for who it chose, or any random character. You'd never know this character was ever a heavy hitter.
as a huge Green lantern fan and Larfleeze being my fav DC character, Its disappointing to see how much DC shits on them. Especially the animated movies Not to mention how many times their rings get stolen even tho it shouldbe impossible and some creators having absolutely no idea how a lantern ring works (looking at you suicide squad KTJL)
It just makes me upset because for some people, DC just isn't for them because Batman isn't for them. Like, imagine a world where every mainstream Marvel media only focused on Spider-Man since he was the only comic book character people cared about? That's what it sometimes feels like as a DC fan. Green Lantern was the first DC superhero that actually appealed to me during a time where I thought all DC superheroes were boring. (I had tried to read Frank Miller's Batman since people told me it was the best and came out of it thinking that all DC comics sucked. The Zack Synder DC movies also didn't help with that perception). Actually, I was really into sci-fi at the time, so I'm pretty sure that helped make Green Lantern an instant favorite for me. It also helped that Green Lantern: Blackest Night was a generally good Green Lantern story. I feel like there's a lot of potential in a TV show or movie that actually properly utilizes the Green Lantern mythos and characters, but sadly it seems like that won't happen for a long time. And even if it does happen, I wonder if even audiences will give it a chance due to the tarnished reputation Green Lantern has had on the mainstream since that one movie.
I ain’t gonna cap. I do not know anything about Greenland too much I mean I know some of the standard stuff but yeah dang that’s sad Green Lantern is pretty cool though
@@smurfie8412 I am not woke. What are you talking about? Can I have some of the stuff that you’re smoking bro lol. 😂 I’m just learning about Green Lantern that’s pretty much it
I think Hal works better as a Darth Vader style fallen hero, when he's parallax tbh. But i do like him as a lantern as well. Kyle, John and Alan Scott are better imo tho
DCAMU could’ve solved its Flash and GL problem with a buddy cop movie. Barry and Hal have that vibe in the comics and they have a really great friendship.
With John Diggle... His step father's last name is Stewart. That version of John kept his original last name. So he is that universes John Stewart. But as you mentioned, CW fcked it up, and the ring I guess shut down or something.
The worst part is I reckon the recent movie adaptations of Super Man, Batman, Wonder Woman, ect. are way worse. If the average 2010 bad superhero movie, like Green Lantern droped today people would say it's an okay movie
Ongggg people need to talk about this more often Green lantern is one of the most under valued heroes in today’s era and not even just that but they have the resources and source material to make great movies and adaptations I just wanna see green lantern at his full potential please for the love of all things😭
Not gonna lie, I don't exactly LOVE Green Lantern, but holy shit I couldn't help but roll my eyes and how Hal was treated in those animated movies. I get it, some moments of levity are needed and someone needs to get slapped around so that villians feel threatening, but COME ON. Poor GL got clapped by everything and everyone.
Green Lantern the animated series was great, and they even refrenced it recently in young justice. Hoping and praying for my boi Kyle Rayner to get some respect soon
Who the hell will *PAY* for a Green Lantern movie at this point? Like seriously.... WB would need major investors, and they are all scared after the 2011 flop.
They payed for a Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Guardians of the Galaxy, the biggest group of nobodies in Marvel to the point that even the Great Lake Avengers were more known and that even comic readers forgot they existed. Hell, they paid for a second Suicide Squad Movie after the first one was a dumpster fire of bad ideas, so maing another Green Lantern project is far from impossible. It's not the characters fault that the higher ups at companies all suck at their job
Green Lantern, Shazam and Aquaman suffer from same problem in DC, being sidelined in favor of DC Trinity and Flash, as if they can't be part of The Seven, while shoehorning Cyborg, Hawkgirl in there, beech Cyborg is part of Teen Titans, and how come Hawkgirl is better than Hawkman?
Green Lantern movies have the highest potential if done correctly. Because when you get down to it, they’re space cops. All that is needed is a bit of detective noir set in space and primarily use alien species that designs are closer to humans. (Save on CGI and prosthetic designs, the less CGI the better story & visual cohesion.)
It's funny to think that in part due to the 2011 movie, but also in part maybe too high concept, he wasn't in the 2017 Justice League movie. And not really being part of the DCEU may helped it with it working into the DCU. Like while Superman and Batman have to really work to compare to snyder version, and hardly any word on Wonder woman, Aquaman, or Flash; here little ol Green Lantern here. Heck make it two of them, make them buddy cop in a show (hope things turn out well, GL's have so much potential)

DC has this habit to ignore anything that once gone wrong. Green lantern movie wasn't great? We pretend it never happened. Suicide Squad was a MTV clip? We will not work to redeem characters like Joker, HQ etc, we just never talk about it, let's make movie with another guy named Joker so everyone forgets about previous one. DC never fix problems, they just close their eyes and hope that no one will remember
Wrong John Diggle is John Stewart of the Arrowverse. After they settle their differences, John adopts his step fathers last name, becoming John Diggle Stewart
I really want a green lantern verse sitting as a side piece to D.C. It’s effectively its own verse by itself that crosses over with main continuity by way of following the lanterns on Earth. But I want to see each lantern introduced one movie at a time, so first Hal, then Guy, then John, then Kyle.. Because you need to see what happens to Hal, Guy and John to understand why Kyle is different and operates under different circumstances. Alan Scott can be the mentor who stayed in the shadows, and over several films we can see how Hal is overcome by Parallax…. It it will take several movies to tell that story.
What about the Green Lantern animated movies like First Flight? Or Beware My Power which starred both Hal Jordan and John Stewart? Or Emerald Knight which served as an origin story for lesser known lanterns?
First flight and Emerald Knights were great IMO, Beware my Power was complete trash that ruined John and Hal and destroyed any chances of adapting Kyle’s stories.
If you want to talk about hating on the Green Lantern. I would point out that Hal and John are not the only Green Lanterns on Earth. I mean Earth has 4 lanterns maybe 5 at most.
7:52 whoever wrote this was probably an extreme racist I don’t care if they were writing for a black character they just do not know how to write without putting some weirdo identity politics into it and that’s not even going as far as to say the rivalry was stupid yes a street level gunslinger has a rivalry with a superman level for right powering wielder who can basically go toe to toe with the justice league on equal terms meanwhile you expect me to believe it this gunslinger should just be I don’t no have some sort of beef with a guy who actually put him in jail more times than he did kill like black dead shot should have more beef with Batman if anybody but what the hell did John Stewart do to black dead shot?

I don't that much about Green Lantern (or any lantern) but I heard and saw that he has powers built on imagination, something that is unstoppable and the writers don't even think of how overpowered he is. Just like speedsters, they lose by lazy writing and untapped potential that they don't think hard enough on.
I don't think lanterns have the same arguments aince they have moral codes and their own traits and imagination to limit themselves naturally with a ring and how much of an emotion or will they have, and the constructs the individual lantern prefers and usually uses. Hal jordan won't use or have the exact same ideas in your head and more in his own, especially when fighting at first. Ok, so i just reread your comment and you're right, they won't think about this, and if they do they'll cancel whatever it is for a tax writeoff

Aquaman has been receiving more love at least. Definitely when compared to the past few decades.

@fearlessleader889 It can be, but the problem is that when they make it dark and gritty, they tend to remove all the fun. In trying to make themselves seem different from Marvel, they remove the nice moments that truly make us fall in love with a character. Hollywood has forgotten how to make superhero movies

I agree entirely Green Lantern's Rogues Gallery is incredibly underrated, and some of the villains, if written well and given true passion and understanding, could all be incredibly deep and interesting antagonists for a live-action collection of Green Lantern movies, for example:
- Sinestro - a former Green Lantern who was a cherished member and great role model who fell down a dark path of no longer wanting to see the universe suffer under the hypocrisy of the Guardians and understanding how unjust they truly are, leading him to have a warped perception of what true justice should be achieved by, losing faith in the power of will and saw the horror and chaos of criminals and warlords seeking to use fear as a method to achieve so-called "peace" and betraying the friends and family he has grown to care for but still believe what he's doing is right.
- Larfleeze - a being powered by his own greed and hubris for an undying thirst for everything he can possess)
- Krona - a former Guardian who was shunned by his brothers and sisters for seeking to understand the universe, and his ambition to know the origin of the universe drove him to madness and cruel exile
- The Manhunters are soul-less emotionless machines acting as the antithesis to the Emotional Spectrum and wish to kill emotions as part of a twisted programme to prevent war and crimes as they believe emotions drive us to create chaos
- Atrocitus and the Red Lanterns - victims of genocide and a massacre covered up by the Guardians and rightfully seek vengeance for all the lives and world wiped out by the Manhunters, which can make them good sympathetic villains driven by loss, sadness and pure rage
- Black Hand and Nekron - beings embodying the end of everything where emotion and life mean nothing and all that is left is the cold shiver of death as an inescapable fate and abyss that comes for all of us
@suscrow661 Young Justice was not taken seriously enough. If dc and WB valued them enough, of course they could make a Razer's own show

WB and DC have forced so much Batman content, they don’t know how to do anything creative for anyone else
Even their Batman content is bland though
Christopher Nolan ruined everything 😢

-Green Lantern: The Animated Series, the last great piece of Green Lantern media outside the comics
-The GL 2011 movie, which started all this mess.
-The blink-and-you-miss-it frame in which a flight jacket with the name "Jordan" appears in an Arrow flashback
-how they used Deathstorm on The Flash
-we saw Coast City a few times i guess, most notably in the Flash pilot
-The one and only animated film about Green Lantern in the new (post reboot) DCAMU, which was forgettable at best.
-brief teases and mentions of Alan Scott and a couple episodes with Jenny on Stargirl after so much fan request.
-a brief appearance of Razer as a hybrid lantern in Young Justice (which is probably the most amount of respect we ever got as fans since the animated show)
-Jessica Cruz in......DC Superhero Girls....lord have mercy
-2 Lantern-themed DLC for DCUO (which is great, if you like mindlessly grindy, moneygrabbing, Pay2Play MMOs)
-John Stewart in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League........😫😫😫
-Hal, Sinestro and Atrocitus in Injustice and its sequel (which were admittedly awesome but lasted a couple minutes at best).

A Green Lantern video game NEEDS a custom construct creation system. Yay or nay?
Maybe a bit too complex, maybe only some parts here or there.
@@l0sts0ul89
Literally the big defining draw out of lots of awesome draws is that Lanterns literally use their own imagination as a weapon.
@@VunderGuy
And that would be impossible to fucking do in a game you moron 💀 acting like making whatever you want and a character creation system are the same thing doesn't make any sense.
@@VunderGuy
Dude wtf are you on, id be impossible to accurately portray GLs powers a character creation system and literally making anything you want isn't the same thing.

With true passion, love, patient planning and vision, Green Lantern can make a truly monumental cinematic comeback. I truly pray James Gunn has big plans in mind for the character.
The John Stewart / Deadshot Rivalry drove me crazy. It was straight was silly. Also, Floyd should've been in Blackgate, not Arkham. He isn't crazy.
El inicio debió ser en belle Reeve no Arkham porque rayos enviaron a Boomerang y shark a Arkham?
Tommorowverse taking Kyle's origin and giving it to John Stewart, doing a disservice to both characters, and just for fun, also ruining Hal's Parallax Arc was the first instance I thought "Oh no" for the Tomorrowverse.
Gunn pushing for there to be at least 4 Green Lanterns in his new DCU does have me optimistic, though. Here's to you, Hal, John, Guy, and Booster.
Hal & Guy will be in theirs 50s and John will be in his early 20s so that's already ruined.
Thank goodness James Gunn is making the Green Lantern Corps movie
He's making a show
And it's not looking good based on the cast, 50+ year olds playing Hal & Guy and John being a young rookie.
*series
THIS is so absolutely true. But *Geoff Johns the absolute mofo* is a BIG reason behind it all. WB seems to think Johns OWNs Green Lantern, as if he created him and that again independently and DC's just lending his IP whenever they are having any GL in their shows or movies. WBD's investors need to see this.
Hal Jordan and John Stewart are both cool characters. Imagine an outer space buddy-cop story with those two!
Theyre are actually making a show with Hal and John! The only problem is that we have ex-CIA dickhead Tom King as one of the main writers, and I really don't think he can stop himself from ruining their characters
Which is really dumb because it has potential to be the next Star Wars and Star Trek.
8:24 I thought I was the only one immune to the King Shark "LOOK HE'S JUST LIKE DRAX" humor writing. I don't get why everyone likes it so much.
Cooking at the end asking all those questions. So many things the league could've done to preemptively assess how big of a threat Braniac was, but no... walk into the spaceship of an alien invader for negotiations
Jeremy Adams green lantern run is freaking fantastic and tons of fun.
Also adding in with Green Lantern: War Journal along with the way.
@@OhOh996 indeed war journal is very interesting
Green Lantern on his own, and he dominates. Green Lantern with the Justice League, her gets his ability nerfed. Don't make sense.
Don't forget, Digs full name is John Diggle Stewart. He used Diggle b/c he didn't get along with his dad, General Stewart.
"most powerful weapon in the universe" and then wearing one automatically makes you get your ass beat
We used to have blackest night. Bruh.
The Green Lantern curse even extends to roller coasters. (If you know you know)
I don't.
In the future, I hope we get a blackest night adaptation
Apparently the CW verse was going to adapt it.
@@camerondalton1495 how 😭

I’m with you bro. Hoping to direct one of these films one day. When it comes I’ll remember your video.
I don’t know why that dog walkin away with that side eye felt personal 😢😂
And bro you did not need to include that RDCWorld reaction to Jon Stewart gettin demolished like that, sh*t was devastating to watch! 🤣💀
RCDWorld?
He is quickly taken out/omitted from DCAU
When they give a different character a GL ring, they make that character equally or more powerful than experienced top lanterns like Stewart or Jordan
They can't decide if the ring ONLY works for who it chose, or any random character.
You'd never know this character was ever a heavy hitter.
as a huge Green lantern fan and Larfleeze being my fav DC character, Its disappointing to see how much DC shits on them. Especially the animated movies
Not to mention how many times their rings get stolen even tho it shouldbe impossible and some creators having absolutely no idea how a lantern ring works (looking at you suicide squad KTJL)
The Lanterns needed a series before a movie because the lore is so thick.
Bro thanks for making this vid, looking back now it’s ABSOLUTELY FUCKING CRIMINAL that GL didn’t even get a animated movie in the DCAMU💀
I ain’t gonna cap. I do not know anything about Greenland too much I mean I know some of the standard stuff but yeah dang that’s sad Green Lantern is pretty cool though

And i think that Hal is being disrespected even more because now they're giving John Hal's stories
Hal’s…and Kyle’s (looking at you, “beware my power”)
I think Hal works better as a Darth Vader style fallen hero, when he's parallax tbh. But i do like him as a lantern as well. Kyle, John and Alan Scott are better imo tho
@@himum3429 What? no,the best green lantern stories have Hal as the main character doing herioc things.😂
Bats and Green shoulda got a movie, they had great chemistry
Jon Stewart from Justice league and Hal from his animated series are the perfect respected versions
I wouldn't blame DC for their lack of investment in their characters, I'd rather blame Warner Bros. for not having a clue what to do with them.
Ongggg people need to talk about this more often Green lantern is one of the most under valued heroes in today’s era and not even just that but they have the resources and source material to make great movies and adaptations I just wanna see green lantern at his full potential please for the love of all things😭
watchout with that Guy Gardner disrespect he's a peak Green Lantern
DC disrespects green lantern, flash, green arrow and they only care about Batman and Superman
They hate Superman. It's all about Batman. Hence why Marvel trumps them.
Those movies sucked off Batman, and i love Batamn but holy shit.
Crazy how Geoff johns incredible green lantern saga ended a year before the release of the green lantern movie
It ended 2 years later with the “Wrath of the first lantern” arc. The last issue was GL #20 in 2013
Green Lantern the animated series was great, and they even refrenced it recently in young justice.
Hoping and praying for my boi Kyle Rayner to get some respect soon
The green lanterns have like infinite potential but they fucked up once and are terrified now.
Cyborg’s been in the Justice league since 2011
Green Lantern movies have the highest potential if done correctly.
I think green lantern has a chance in the dcu because I'm suspecting batman and superman to appear in the new dcu i have no clue what the dcu directions for characters like wonder women cyborg Shazam Aquaman and indefinitely the flash ( due to bad taste from Ezra Miller drama which is fresh too many ) also I want a good green lantern anything because at this point green lantern is the new aquaman short of treatment the new punching bag which im just tired of because I love green lantern and all it character yet ever since 2011 they keep disrespecting Green Lantern every time which is just sad at this point
The animated series was awesome & I wish they'd revive it. I'd also love a blackest night movie or miniseries or a lantern sci-fi space cop show.
I also need a tv serie about Green lantern and Flash, best bromamce for me .
One movie does not equate a bad idea. The GLC offers unlimited potential, but the hacks in charge don't realize it.
Wrong John Diggle is John Stewart of the Arrowverse. After they settle their differences, John adopts his step fathers last name, becoming John Diggle Stewart
What a name ☠️
I really want a green lantern verse sitting as a side piece to D.C. It’s effectively its own verse by itself that crosses over with main continuity by way of following the lanterns on Earth. But I want to see each lantern introduced one movie at a time, so first Hal, then Guy, then John, then Kyle..
Because you need to see what happens to Hal, Guy and John to understand why Kyle is different and operates under different circumstances.
Alan Scott can be the mentor who stayed in the shadows, and over several films we can see how Hal is overcome by Parallax…. It it will take several movies to tell that story.
This why I'm excited for the upcoming Green Lanterns show. Hal Jordan AND John Stewart? Sign me the hell up!
This is the best TH-cam video I have seen this month keep it up bro
This is why I want to play the live action green lantern. It should be similar to Robert Pattinson as Batman. 0:14
It seems like the only way DC can make superman and batman look good is by shitting on every other hero
What about the Green Lantern animated movies like First Flight? Or Beware My Power which starred both Hal Jordan and John Stewart? Or
Emerald Knight which served as an origin story for lesser known lanterns?
First flight and Emerald Knights were great IMO, Beware my Power was complete trash that ruined John and Hal and destroyed any chances of adapting Kyle’s stories.
If you want to talk about hating on the Green Lantern.
I would point out that Hal and John are not the only Green Lanterns on Earth.
I mean Earth has 4 lanterns maybe 5 at most.
You gotta talk about Green Lantern First Flight and Emerald Knights. Most goated depictions of Hal Jordan and other members of the GL Corps.
Lore of DC HATES And Disrespects Green Lantern momentum 100
7:52 whoever wrote this was probably an extreme racist I don’t care if they were writing for a black character they just do not know how to write without putting some weirdo identity politics into it and that’s not even going as far as to say the rivalry was stupid yes a street level gunslinger has a rivalry with a superman level for right powering wielder who can basically go toe to toe with the justice league on equal terms meanwhile you expect me to believe it this gunslinger should just be I don’t no have some sort of beef with a guy who actually put him in jail more times than he did kill like black dead shot should have more beef with Batman if anybody but what the hell did John Stewart do to black dead shot?
funny how they literally pulled this rivalry out of their ass just bc these characters are black, yet rocksteady went and collab with a company that helps create “more diverse and inclusive writing” like lol???
@@funghoul693 exactly that’s the funny thing that makes no sense to me is for one the rivalry definitely makes zero fucking sense I don’t care what nobody says but the absolute race schism resonating off of that from a bunch of DEI diversity hires who think they are being quite deep if clearly either never both read the comics or actually heard how real Black people talk Even if we go down the whole part about him saying one of the good ones by that point they should’ve just had them say that HAL Jordan is a con even though he’s not
LMFOA it’s funny they tried so hard to be “inclusive” and make deadshot black only to be racist with it. Like why does Deadshot and Green Lantern have to beef just because they’re both black? That’s so backwards and weird. 💀

"The fight back" while green lanter was getting jumped 😂😂
Green lantern deserves a new movie and new animated series . I have GL comic omnibus vol 1 and blackest night story ,imagine if WB cares and can implement those stories into movie that would be cool .
