They all care for eachother in their own way. Shalnark and chrollo and Franklin were bestfriends when they were kids. Machi, uvo and nobunaga were kind of their bullies/rivals. Feitan and sphinks were 2 menace buddies that teased all the other kids

I love Shalnark's character design so much. He looks so innocent, but is one of the most vile members of the Troupe. I wish they didn't kill off his character in the manga. I'd hate to see it animated.
