Hell yes. I know the DD is more gnarly and modern sounding, but I've always been an Orange fan for nasty metal tones. I have a Rockerverb MKIII and I love how it goes from sludgy sledgehammer to precision monster with a boost. something about how they're so open and have a shit ton of gain is just so pleasing to play through.
Yeah and I've got an amp born from the same preamp as that mighty Rockerverb of yours - the Jim Root #4 Terror :) I'd like this DD for that much more headroom, attenuator and channel switching.
Orange needs to reissue these amps. Their timing for these just wasn’t ideal for the time yet. I’ve wanted one of these for years man

Man, ive been wanting either a 50 or a 100 for awhile now, but their semi-rarity has made the prices a bit crazy... I think they sound amazing... One day... Nice work, brother.
They're doing a limited run in white at the moment. Not crazily priced like the second hand market ones. I doubt they'll last long.

How old are you? Been tempted to break out my hi8 camera never tried film to digital be nice to see how it compares to the vhs filters.

Bass emphasis first harmonic while guitars emphasis the second harmonic, so even if they're tuned in unison, they shouldn't fight each others.

Its still at 40hz which is still audible to me really the only prob is your competing with the kick drum so you basically have to sidechain compression.
Also even if you have a clean bass (no distortion) you still add some distortion to bring out the tone
@@Durkhead F is WELL under 40hz, in the bass octave range. A0 is 27hz, so F would be far lower. You have no idea what you're talking about, kid.

Orange is used in a lot of different settings, much like Marshall. Lots of blues, rock, metal, pop punk, stoner/doom. Can get some really good 80s metal or hardcore sounds out of something like a Rockerverb. Awesome demo man!!!
Sounds great. I have a OR50 that gets pretty mean when you hit it with a dirty tree. I also had a rockerverb mk3 but I really preferred the OR50. Orange to me is very overlooked when it comes to metal. You have to use this or that for metal music. That is just my experience. Great vid brother.
Not a fan of this amp the one time I tried one. Seemed like the rockerverb just cut way more and had a more aggressive tone.
Interesting. I sold my rockerverb for the exact same reason - Dual Dark is savage, aggressive and outright full on assault.
@@tyroneenglish8396 well, keep in mind I only tried one once. It was a used unit at a local guitar store. Sounded very boxy to me at the time. Also, a local band I know uses a rockerverb 50 and dual dark 100 on stage and no matter what, the rockerverb just eats the dual dark. Only other situation I saw it in was in a two guitar band where one guy was playing an old Marshall JMP and the other a dual dark….i don’t think I even need to mention which one one dominated the mix haha the plexi just devoured the DD’s frequencies, almost like it wasn’t even on.
@@brandonbryson3317 yeah sweet. Like I said. It’s very interesting - I miss my Rockerverb. I find the listening experience to be so varied, depending on limitless variability’s.

Awesome, I'm interested in getting one of their dark terrors soon.
Really dig those orange amps. You could get into trying out and demo different speakers too. The speakers usually have the biggest impact on tone from what I've been hearing. Try some dv77s , hesu demons, greenbacks, creambacks, and so on then try different combinations of speakers together if you can. I'd really like to see ya getting into that. I currently got a dv77 and v30 paired up in an evh 2x12 cab and they are brutal sounding. Appreciate your content brother man.

I traded a guy on craigslist a bunch of pedals for one of these a few months ago… it’s def a cool amp. I have a rockerverb 50 mk1 as well and they sound very different from each other.
Do any of the Rockerverb and Dual Dark need a booster to sound tight for Sepultura and Slipknot ?
