@BrandontheAwesome I've just read the 1st 6 issues and thier pretty good.....Something similar needs to be done in the live action movies since Transformers One seems to be aiming for a younger demographic
This is Marvel. Theyre all about pushing things that dont work. Kamala Kahn, Carol Danvers as Captain Marvel, Miles Morales, Gay Iceman, Betsy Braddock as Captain Britain, Krakoa, etc. It's high time Marvel reevaluated its strategy. Instead of constantly pushing things that don't resonate with the audience, it's crucial to focus on the elements that do. If we ever want things to change, then we need a whole new staff. Get rid of the higher-ups and hire writers who dont tick a checkbox and have actual talent and care about the material they're writing about. People who want to write about their heroes and not try to insert themselves into popular heroes.
@@MsClonetrooper Okay first off, Kamala Khan isn't that bad, Second Carol Danvers is Captain Marvel because she was once Mrs. Marvel, Also Miles Morales is the best spider-man and was praised so youre basically being racist, Homophobic too, Sexist maybe?c And NO they are not pushing at all! It's mostly bad writing to blame and not inclusions of LGBTQ or Racial Content! IF you think that, then you need some help you trump supporter!
@@MsClonetrooperhonestly I like miles but to me he’s not really a Spider-Man I go outta my way to read about. But I really don’t like that because I’m black everyone assumes that my favorite version of Spider-Man is miles and when I say no it’s actually either Gwen or Peter I get weird looks especially from my own community.
@@MsClonetrooper your list being mostly about minorities and women (and most of them actually being good) leads me to believe it’s not the writing that you care about lmao
Guys, don't get your hopes up, even if Zeb Wells is gone, nothing's going to change as long as Nick Lowe and his team are in Spider-Man comics, and I'm tired of seeing Peter as the underdog that everyone outshines and treats like he's nothing without mj..As we know, Peter lost Gwen and was left alone for a long time and lost a lot, and they think that losing Peter this little girl for the sake of a frog will affect him to this degree.😢.
For real him just being ok with all this just rubs me the wrong way. Especially after how cruel MJ was to him and Paul just telling Peter to accept it all.
Be fair it’s not in him Peter isn’t that a that type of character he should stand up for himself but hating some for something like that is petty understandable but it’s out of character for him but MJ should apologise for hurting him seriously how has that not happened also I think in venom war venom is going to lash out on MJ for this exact incident it seems to be leading to that.
@@Whitespider8376 I agree Peter isn’t the type of person that would hold it against MJ. But he should definitely at the very least call her out for how she treated him. The situation they put Peter in was absolutely f*cked. And instead of being compassionate and understanding Peter’s very understandable confusion. She just gave him the cold shoulder and started her life with Paul Peter be dammed. She did everything wrong in this situation and hasn’t made any attempt at seeing Peter’s side of things she definitely owes him an apology. But I dont hold your breath on the venom scene chances are venoms gonna call MJ out and the stories gonna bend over backwards to justify MJ. Venom could speak absolute facts about what MJ did to Peter and the story will still make her out to be in the right.
@@ToxicVex267 your absolutely right damn marvel editor will never although that they flip story making go MJ side they least she could say is sorry at some point things might have a chance of getting better but again thank you for not contrasting and your right.
I hate this book so much and frankly the real Peter Parker and Mary Jane I knew and love would never ever abandon each other for garbage character like Paul who at this point needs to go away and never ever comeback because he’s done nothing but damage a lot of other characters like Peter Parker and Mary Jane for horrible story nobody likes myself included.
Especially remember how in the old comic when Gwen Stacey died and MJ went to check on Peter and even though he said rude things to her and told her to leave and was grieving over another women? MJ still stayed and stood by Peter and helped him grieve cause she cared about him that much? Well zeb and Nick sure don’t remember that cause I can’t see this MJ doing the same thing. If anything she’d have Paul drop off some get well cookies and call it a day.
Is it really bringing someone back if they never left? On a serious note it honestly made me sick to my stomach seeing Peter be so chummy with Paul and seeing MJ essentially make fun of Peters misfortune knowing firsthand that a lot of fhe stuff he goes through isn't even his fault. Shes written to be an unlikeable bitch when the real MJ loves Peter unconditionally and never kicks him when hes down. And definitely wouldn't ditch him for a guy who literally Kickstarted a genocide. Idc that Zdbs trying to make him "sympathetic" he literally is still an accomplice to the demise of his entire universe
My head canon is that MJ asked Mephisto to take her to another universe where she could be happy with Peter and their children and he takes her to the ultimate universe and this MJ is just a clone made by Mephisto to make Peter suffer.
i bet when the spidey office finished this issue they all started saying shit like "ha this one will really show em" all they care about now is how can they spite the fans
You know it’s bad when Peters most hated character in his comics isn’t any of his villains it’s a regular guy. And I agree Peter just being buddy buddy with Paul and MJ just angers me. Dude just chilling with his ex and the guy she dumped him for. And them trying so hard to make Paul out to be the good guy despite him basically aiding in the destruction of his race. And the only way they could get MJ to be with him is by Paul not allowing Peter to be near MJ for years cause had Peter Been there MJ wouldn’t even look at Paul. And the only reason he and Peter are cool is not cause Paul is a good guy it’s cause Peter has no spine to realized how absolutely f&cked what he went through was and rightfully call Paul and MJ out. But we’re all supposed to be rooting for Paul and MJ what are these writers smocking? The writers basically forced MJ into a relationship with this self insert and expected the fans to be ok with it.
A solo story for Paul, why? And how did he track down another survivor of his world? How do they even manage in their new environment? Is there a special outreach program for people from other dimensions that helps them get on their feet? So many loose ends it's disturbing. Unsurprising since it's Well's story.
I started reading comics as a little kid in the late 1970s, Spider-Man at that time was what I call the Interim Period- after Gwen Stacy Before Marriage to Mary Jane which was in 1987. At that time, Peter Parker was student trying to get PhD, taking care of his Aunt May, photog for the Bugle, on-off with Mary-Jane, there were issues when he was Down but he was NEVER Out! He came back with Confidence, Fighting Back, one issue I loved where he temporarily lost his powers but he was kicking ass, smacked the shit out of a thief, payback for the time when he let a thief go who later killed Uncle Ben. Splash Page where he tears his shirt revealing his Spider-Man costume, raring to go with no superpowers! This current Spider-Man is a Milquetoast, he's Down and stays Down, no confidence, he gets beaten by 2nd Raters like Vulture and Tombstone, no respect from other heroes, this issue he's once again almost killed by Tombstone and has to be saved by She-Hulk and Cage, he's insulted by dickhead Ned Leeds, dismissed by his friend Randy and of course he's the Third Wheel Chump with Paul and Mary-Jane.
reading the classic stories and then jumping into this volume gives me severe whiplash, he doesn't even feel nor look like the same character anymore. I hate how even with his design, its just regressed to 'basic white boy' he used to have style! a fashion sense! defining traits within his appearance to show "oh hey thats Peter Parker" but now he just looks like a poor mans tom holland
@@mnstash Yes, Peter had Swag when I first read Spider-Man, he looked like a Man in his Prime. The 1990s with Todd McFarlane, Peter and MJ married was PEAK! I left Spider-Man and most comics after "One More Day" Joe Q stabbed me in the heart with that Bullshit. I came back because I thought AMS would build on Nick Spencer's Run and finally undo the OMD Manchild Hamster Wheel Peter Parker has been on for 17 years, instead Zeb Wells not only kept him on the Hamster Wheel but made him Milquetoast Cuck on top of that! To your point with Peter regressed to generic White Boy plus Tom Holland, he's drawn physically Smaller as Spider-Man, it's like ASM Editorial not only wants Peter diminished as character, has to be physically diminished as well.
Even when they try to make Paul look good they fail because once again Wells doesn't understand basic logic! They have him pay for this guys medical bills but where is he getting the money for this? And through out the issue he acts like he has cash to burn. Maybe I missed something about him having a job but this also again this doesn't make him likable! Having other people in the comic like Paul doesn't make fans like him , this has been Marvel's big problem with how they write Captain Marvel
It’s honestly annoying each time we see Paul it’s just zebs and nicks way of trying to justify him and MJ. Each time it’s hey look guys don’t they look good together look at them doing couple things. Or it’s hey look at what Paul’s doing guys isn’t he a great guy? Don’t ya like him now that we’ve shown him doing these good deeds? NO no matter how many lazy attempts they try he’s still the guy that only exists to cuck Peter. Cause of him we’re back at this will they won’t they plot with Peter and MJ and it’s super annoying cause Paul has no redeeming qualities but for some reason MJ still picks him over Peter who’s she’s none for decades. First she said it was cause of the kids and when they disappeared she still chose Paul.
They need to understand that Paul is shit and we as the fans are not going to accept Paul so they need to understand that we pay the bills and we ain't having it, MJ picking Paul who she knew for maybe a few years over Peter who she knew for decades is so stupid and is comic book blasphemy
I didn’t pick up ASM #56, so thanks for making this video so I can keep up on this book without wasting money on it, mnstash. I’m actually a little surprised that Zeb Wells managed to put out an okay story this time around. It definitely does not redeem this run and we all know Zeb is just going to blow it in the last couple of issues, but at least we got something bearable before the end (by the way, when making my November list for comic releases, I was so incredibly sad to find out that Joe Kelly’s 8 Deaths of Spider-Man is going to be in the same volume as all this! C’mon! Just reset to issue 1 already!). Peter’s intelligence is slowly but surely coming back, so that’s a plus. However, I just don’t understand why Nick and Zeb are even trying to make Paul likable. They know the fandom doesn’t like him, so why bother? Oh, it’s because they’re incompetent people who don’t know how to make a story if their lives depended on it! All I’m saying is that I’m not going to pick up the rest of Zeb Well’s run, I’m done. I’m just coming to you for updates, mnstash. Maybe I’ll pick up 8 Deaths to see where that goes, but I already have problems with it…but that’s a discussion for another day.
No worries at all, I hope you enjoyed the video! believe it or not I hate complaining about asm as much as I do so I was a little glad that I can say something somewhat positive for a change😂but like you said this won't last nor does it make up for all the damage. I have no idea what to expect for the 8 deaths of spider-man, I sorta just wish it was already over with
@@mnstash Oh I definitely loved the video. I just hope all of our sanities will be intact by the end of this run. And a little spoiler for 8 Deaths…Doctor Doom is having Peter battle and defeat avatars of gods. That’s all I’m saying.
In the case of JRJR I honestly think Zeb Wells' shit writing choices have infected Romitas artistic capabilities. His shit was goated when it came to other writers portrayals of the web head but here?? Jesus.
Honestly think he’s doing it on purpose just to spite them can’t say I blame him either I sure as fuck wouldn’t care to put in my best effort if I had to work with this clown
The thing im afraid of is. Given how badly they are treating Peter Parker and how hard they have been trying to push Miles Morales these days. Im fearful that this is Marvels strategy to kill Spider-Man for good. Think about it, Spidey's stories are getting worse and worse, his life is terrible, hes lost the love of his life, he cant beat a single villain to save his life and everyone around him seems to hate his guts. Yet Miles is getting buff after buff and is around people that are supporting him and everyone seems to adore him, even the real Spider Man. Marvel seems to want Spider-Man's books to fail. They want to turn the readers off, push them away, and drive them towards Miles to make him the official Spider-Man. As much as I hate to say it. We cant let that happen. We need to support this book. Show Marvel and all those who are involved with this that we love Spider-Man, the OG REAL Spidey. The Hero that taught us "With Great Power, Comes Great Responsability." We cant let a pale imitation replace the icon that is the greatest hero in all of Marvel and the world. These writers can't kill our love for Spider-Man. Sure, we have the Ultimate Spidey now. But how long will that last? How long will they dangle this carrot in front of our faces before taking it away the moment ASM fails and the last of its fans are driven off.
I mean miles is cool and all but he’s no Peter Parker in many people’s eyes Peter will always be THE spider man. No matter how much they screw over Peter to lift miles more it only makes miles look worse cause they have to hurt Peter in order to make miles look good.
@@Benzodrewd oh for sure. That’s totally what could be happening. I’m just expressing my concern and theorising what might happen. Lots of rumours floating about and this was one possibility that came to mind.
Why not just let go? If they want to end the character why not stop reading? because supporting these comics won't make the character better, it will just ensure that you have more bad stories about the character to read.
Hello, I hope you are having a lovely day today. As you can see I preactivated my calm intellectual filter because of getting reminded of Zeb Wells... how to put it... interesting, run gets me agitated so I decided to get all the negativity out first, I'm gonna take all the issues and sho... um... I think I broke it... don't worry I can be an adult about this without the filter. TLDR: I would like to note that if I hired someone to work at my five-star restaurant and they couldn't even produce a McDonald's cheeseburger of not terrible quality I'm kicking them out of my restaurant no questions asked, and by that some logic Zeb Wells should've been fired before he even finished the final draft of his the first comic of this run. So, since Zeb Wells' run is thankfully about to end I've decided to analyze the entire series, to show why it doesn’t work at all anyways there are five parts of a story: 1. plot 2. setting 3. characters 4. conflict, and 5. Theme (five words I’m pretty sure Zeb Wells doesn’t know about). At best these aspects all non-existent within Zeb Wells' run. So starting with the theme it’s something that is “a subject or topic of discourse or of artistic representation” and Spider-Man like all superheroes has themes that have been explored before and are core to his character. Themes of responsibility, loss, guilt, maturity, etc. But Zeb Wells forgets about this part of the story because his run doesn’t have a theme… at all. Speaking of themes, one great way to tell what the theme is is simply to ask what is the character arc, because it’s impossible to have one and not have the other, which transitions us well into characters. The two main ways to make a character interesting are to make them have an arc or two to make them have another character have an arc, and no one has any arcs in Zeb Wells’ run because everyone is both a flat and static character. To give a good example of a character arc let’s just use Amazing Fantasy #15. In it, Peter Parker starts as someone who doesn’t see the point of using his powers for good and only cares about himself, and when his Uncle Ben is killed by a burglar who he let go he learns that if he uses his powers for purely selfish reasons and only cares about himself then he will face consequences, and that’s also the theme of the issue. Aunt May and Uncle Ben in the issue help establish his relationship with him and what they mean to him so we know what he loses when he’s gone, and since every scene they're in they’re giving Peter stuff it helps inform us of what Peter is losing when one dies. Flash, Sally, and Peter’s teacher exist to help who Peter is before he gets the spider bite so we know more about him, what he wants, and what he’s worth. See how characters and themes go hand-in-hand and how you use one character to help with the development of another character. Well, it also goes to show that there’s more to praise in just this one comic than in all of Zeb Wells’ run because since every character is both flat and static they make all the other characters flat and static and make the story lack a theme. Speaking of characters, remember those Plinkett/Red Letter media reviews of the Phantom Menace, and how they said you couldn't name one thing about Qui-Gon or Padme Amidala WITHOUT saying what they looked like, what kind of costume they wore, or what their profession or role in the movie was. Describe this character to your friends like they ain't never seen Star Wars. Well, I’ve come up with two similar challenges to show how A Zeb Wells’ run is a bad story and B Zeb Wells’ run is a bad Spider-Man story. Let’s start with challenge A: Describe any character in this run WITHOUT saying what they looked like, what kind of costume they wore, or what their profession or role in the run was, or bringing up anything that was in any previous run or adaptation so you can only use stuff in this run and nothing else. Describe these characters to your friends like they ain't never heard of Spider-Man, and you wanted to describe how these characters were PURELY in this run. Well, the issue with this is that all of the characters that you can’t say a single thing about using this change are all of the best characters… because the characters in this run at best aren’t characters and are just plot devices used to move the (for lack of a better word), story forward. Meanwhile, all of the characters in this run (if you don’t factor anything else and purely look at this run), that you can say anything about with this challenge are somehow worse because they have character traits yes but that only makes them worse because you just hate them and they annoy you to hell. Now for part B of the challenge: Describe any character in this run that makes them good versions of these characters and makes this a good Spider-Man story WITHOUT saying what they looked like, what kind of costume they wore, or what their profession or role in the run was. Describe these characters like you're listing things that all of them should have in any story and/or them having these things makes it a better Spider-Man story. Well, that is impossible because all of the characters don’t share any resemblance to who they really are or once were. Now for the plot, and if I listed all of the plot holes, plot contrivances, plot armor, inconstant worldbuilding, inconstant characterization (when it comes inconsistency looking at this run at purely its own thing and who the characters have already been established as) for both the OCs and previously established characters, inconstant internal logic, and bad retcons, this comment would be the size of an epic so I’ll just leave it at it has a lot of those. Also, all of the attempts at "plots twists fail" because if 2:05 is any evidence of it they manage to be simultaneously predictable and nonsensical which is the first example of not having your cake and not eating it too (somewhere Spider-Verse movie Miles Morales/Spider-Man crying and he doesn't know why). Next is conflict and all of the conflicts in the run are repetitive, boring, inconsequential, uninteresting, contrived, stupid, lame, bland, a rehash of something better and/or stale, so none of it’s good. I mean if you have to copy off yourself for the exact same conflict in just a few months that's a sign you're a horrible writer, and even though I loved the joke about it that I joked about both times (look at little Goblin Jr. gonna cry), it still is embarrassing, even though it gave me an excuse to use a Raimi meme and since I was first introduced to this character through the Raimi movies, and I love memes to death I couldn't resist making that joke. Finally, we have a setting where I don’t have anything positive or negative to say about it so it’s easily by far the best part of this run because Zeb Wells does nothing with it. On a final note, when it comes to writing a franchise it’s always important to keep two things in mind, you have to make your story feel fresh and new, and you also have to have to so that your story still feels like a story inside the franchise, and good if you're judging it as an installment of the franchise without it feeling like it’s just creative inbreeding (a term Sean Chandler coined), a.k.a. Just rehashing better parts of the franchise. Zeb Wells managed to pull off the rare feat of doing neither, where this run doesn’t at all feel like a Spider-Man story at all and is just a cheap knockoff of better Spider-Man stories, like how in one issue they literally copied and pasted Kraven's Last Hunt, and how 4:50 Peter is working at the Daily Bugle again even though he hasn't worked there for decades!!!!!!! which is yet another example of not having your cake and not eating it too again Zeb Wells is really making Spider-Verse movie Miles Morales/Spider-Man depressed. In summary, I don’t think Zeb Wells’ run is a good story or a good Spider-Man story and these are all the reasons why. Finally, I’ve got the calm intellectual filter back online and here it goes, Mr. Wells I’m sure you’re a very pleasant person but I believe you are ill-suited to your current career. May I recommend a change in profession?
Oh my can you write my scripts😭maybe the good asm stories was the friends we made along the way...or however that saying goes. its insane how zeb wells, the man behind the worst spider-man run ever has managed to bring us all together, we've all united for our uniamous hatred towards his writing. in all seriousness mate youve absoulelty smashed it with your breakdown of wells and the writing
@@mnstash that’s literally the dumbest thing they’ve ever done, if Stan Lee was still alive, he would be very disappointed in what they’re doing to Peter
@@Drums_of_LiberationI seriously think this has to stop, because I didn’t like how things are going with Peter and Mj like right now, I liked how they were, before Zeb wells decided to screw them up
So glad they decided to keep the Zeb Wells self insert, such a great idea to keep such a lousy and disgusting character to make people happy 🙄😒. At this point Marvel can just take both Mary Jane and Paul away because they ruined her character far too much for this series and allowing Zeb to put himself in the comic to not only steal Spider-Man's soul mate away from him but continue to character assassinate Spider-Man was something any conpetatant company would never allow.
You're right, Paul is literally the main character and self-introduction of Zeb Wells, Marvel should stop these people from introducing their marital and personal problems into Spider-Man comics. 😢
@@MohamedKhalil-j8c Definitely. It's like he's treating the fictional character of Mary Jane as his rebound girl and Spider-Man as the guy who took his wife from him. And his whole Jackpot idea was his idiotic way of bragging about how cool his new "girlfriend" is, while also making Black Cat look stupid and pathetic 😒.
@@jillgrimwater3726 Man, I really don't care about MJ or Black Cat, the two are worse than each other, but why is MJ still in Spiderman comics, if they want her to be a hero with the help of her beautiful lover (Zeb), then they should take her away. We don't want her Again with Peter, he deserves a better girl and taking MJ back with him is an insult
@@MohamedKhalil-j8c she's written better in other comics, and used to be a great and supportive character to Peter. But ever since One More Day she's mostly been written as a toxic hypocrite. At this point I don't think she can be saved in the ASM comics and should just be removed from them.
@@jillgrimwater3726 You know what's worse, Mephisto will not stop making Peter's life worse, even if another girl comes into Peter's life, she will leave him or betray him. It is a broken circle that repeats itself, and as Mephisto said, the only solution for Peter to enjoy his life is to leave New York If they don't give up omd Nothing will change
I actually like the idea of Spidey pretending to still be working with a villain to weaken their reputation, smart way to go at Tombstone and also pretty funny. About Paul, I feel like he's just a huge landmine at this point and I genuinely think there's no way to write him out well. Personally, I think he's not a character, he doesn't have a real personality. He's just an obstacle and a plot device everyone wants gone and shouldn't have happened, and no matter what happens to him to get rid of him it's gonna be unsatisfying. At the very most, a mild relief. SO, I have a fun writing exercise. Coming up with a story centered around writing Paul out of ASM.
Since Peter is back in black, the only way i could somewhat see Paul working is if there was a gag where Venom Just absolutely despises the guy even though He doesn't even know him Just because He Hurt Peter's feelings, and if they wanna take it further, have Spider-man show up and Paul complain about the Black suit asking Peter to take it off to a point where it actually is really offensive to Venom and with that Peter finally gets onboard with the Paul hate
@@nicholassgobero if you go read the Venom wars spider-man tie end...Venom is on our side. Venom absolutely hates Paul, When MJ couldn't get the right powers for Jackpot to fight the Symbiotes Venom basically told her this Paul guy Failed her...that if it was Peter it wouldn't have. And at the end of that book...its not looking good for MJ.
I feel like it could be this but instead of the inhumans it's other spider people like miles and Gwen. they know if Peter has good comics people won't gravitate towards the other characters its been proven
Another excellent video. I liked how you put a small reference to the original "Spider-Man 1967" song. Great touch. As I posted previously, I was 6 years-old when the cartoon came out in 1967. Yes, there are a couple of decent moments in this terrible comic, especially when MNStash referred to the Spidey trope Spidey fans like. I read the comic and wasn't surprised that pages 49 to 60 were filler. Marvel doesn't deserve your money when they put out trash and filler like this. If I was a thug of a gang buying weapons and saw White Rabbit with Karim, she wouldn't instill fear to me, as rabbits are prey and lions are predators. This issue is complete and utter trash. Again, Peter's personal life is awful. He has to go back and see if he can get a job as a photographer with the Daily Bugle. WTF! 99% of people have cell phones with cameras, no one needs a freelance photographer these days, unless for a special reason like a birth or wedding. Does Peter do weddings and births now? Who cares what happens at the end of this terrible run by "ASM #60"? Kelly and Ireland are going to take "ASM" in a new direction as this talentless hack Zeb Wells did in Volume # 6, after Nick Spencer's run in "ASM Vol. # 5". It's all inconsequential. Nothing will come of these last 4 issues. In the end, Janice Lincoln probably won't turn state's evidence against her father. Wells can't write a courtroom scene just like Jessica Gao and the writing team could for "the She-Hulk Attorney at Law" TV series. It's insulting and hilarious at the same time. I don't care about who Rhino is dating, when Peter's dating life in in shambles. Shay did turn up in the "Spider-Man Unlimited (SU)" comic recently, but she's not in "ASM". Terrible writing showing lack of continuity between titles. I wish Marvel would cancel this comic for good. End the misery. I'd rather see Peter Parker/Spider-Man with Linda Locke who has Spider Powers and were on a date in "SU" or with Lana Baumgarter A.K.A. Bombshell who is an anti-hero. At least "SU" has Spidey teaming up with female superheroes or anti-heroes whose mother was a super villain. At least SU has 4-part storylines with a conclusion in part 4, then these long-drawn-out plotlines in "ASM". The cameos of She-Hulk and Luke cage are worthless. Who writes a introductory to the 1st storyline AFTER the 1st storyline in this issue? Zeb Wells that's who. I'm sick and tired of the way they treat Peter Parker. No man in his right mind would go over his ex's house to have dinner with her and her boyfriend because he makes a great Chicken Korma. Say what? Why isn't this Paul and MJ story in the comic "Jackpot"? Is that comic still active or has that comic been canceled? I give this issue a rating of 2.5 out of 10 because it doesn't matter what happens in these last few issues just like "Bloodhunt" was irrelevant, as were all the other Marvel events in the last two years. Another great video. I think your review was spot on, but all I can say, is don't give Wells any credit. He's a talentless hack, and with Kelly and Ireland on the horizon, I think "ASM" is going to get a lot worse with the writing and art. It's inevitable. Let's keep hoping "USM" continues to be good, and be prepared for the worst with "ASM". Next milestone is 5k subscribers. Let's hope you reach that # before the end of September :). Cheers.
im so happy you enjoyed the video man ive been trying ti make them more 'professional' I guess you could say with the title cards sectioning the moments within the video! so I hope it came out okay the entire Paul story feels like yet another forced inclusion from the spidey office, a move once again filled with complete spite and hatred towards us the fans. I honestly get whiplash going from issues in the classic decades like the 80s to this shit. no where near the same book it's so different in every aspect! I have started the process for a video on spider-man unlimited, im thinking of doing the first story including the spot! if you didn't get the chance to see my community post I said that the upcoming videos should hopefully look like this :) spider-man unlimited if this be my destiny shadow of the green goblin
@@edg4441 hey ive been finding that series a little difficult to make due to its format and design, just incase I can do it is there a back issue of spider-man thats your favourite? one that you'd like to see because I dont want to disappoint!
@@mnstash Thanks for the follow-up. No worries. "SU" is geared for a young audience, so it's not for everyone, even though I think it's better than "ASM". I think the later issues of "SU" are better than the early issues. A retro issue review of OMD/BND" would be appropriate because those issues started the accelerated decline of "ASM". Thanks again, Cheers!
For most of the Wells run what really kept me going was a belief that obviously the ending story of this run would be something related to the whole situation that would wrap everything up. So I think what's bothering me now is that since that isn't happening I just don't know when it's going to end. My hope is literally lost and it's like do we really have to wait for some indeterminate time until Nick Lowe quits? It's basically my worst fear as we have to live with broken MJ and make more and more issues where she's like this and it just sucks.
I'm just sick of JRJR's artwork now. He constantly draws everyone with a really bad overbite and the faces are borderline identical. His Punisher and Wolverine faces are literally the the same so it feels so lazy. And don't get me started on his ABYSMAL work in Superman: Year One.
So i recently subbed and i also recently stopped by C.E for Venom War. How is it that Spider-Man is more like Spider-man in his on again off again nemesis Venom, even giving the best version of the Power/Responsibility speech i have read in yeaaars (when did No way home come out again?) Also if Paul, MJ and Peter start doing Ménage à trois like how Wolverine, Jean Grey and Cyclops did during the one time of X or Krakatoa arc, im throwing hands with Zeb Wells in a parking lot. id might loose, but i might also get a few licks in. Great Content, loved the video!
Hey thank you so much for the sub and support! :) It’s a very sad common theme within modern spidey, he seems to be written well if the word amazing isn’t in the title for some reason!
Don't really read ASM just watch these types of videos so I didn't even realize Spider-Man got a new girlfriend. So like, why even focus on Paul and MJ? I know practically it's drama and MJ is a long established character but like Let Peter move on man, focus on Shay or something. I want to see Spidey in his new relationship, not Paul. I don't want to see my hero be mopey over the fact he got dumped the entire run.

Oh boy, do I have a surprise for you in the preview page for Spider-Man venom war issue MJ actually calls Paul baby like the goal unbelievable they are really trying to make us like him. I’m afraid after Wells. Kelly won’t get rid of him he might actually be a permanent mainstay

For real him just being ok with all this just rubs me the wrong way. Especially after how cruel MJ was to him and Paul just telling Peter to accept it all.
its so embarrassing especially for Peter, where's his self respect gone?!
Be fair it’s not in him
Peter isn’t that a that type of character he should stand up for himself but hating some for something like that is petty understandable but it’s out of character for him but MJ should apologise for hurting him seriously how has that not happened also I think in venom war venom is going to lash out on MJ for this exact incident it seems to be leading to that.
@@Whitespider8376 I agree Peter isn’t the type of person that would hold it against MJ. But he should definitely at the very least call her out for how she treated him.

My head canon is that MJ asked Mephisto to take her to another universe where she could be happy with Peter and their children and he takes her to the ultimate universe and this MJ is just a clone made by Mephisto to make Peter suffer.
i bet when the spidey office finished this issue they all started saying shit like "ha this one will really show em"

The writers basically forced MJ into a relationship with this self insert and expected the fans to be ok with it.

NOT PAUL 🤮🤮🤮. Another great video my friend
thank you :) unfortunately this video came with the cost of that demon
Aren't you already paying the bills and having it?
They DO know we hate it... They don't care...

@@mnstash I'd say Paul but he's got no job but somehow has plenty of money.
That or they just, you know, are telling a bad Peter story.
@@Benzodrewd oh for sure. That’s totally what could be happening. I’m just expressing my concern and theorising what might happen.

At this point Marvel can just take both Mary Jane and Paul away because they ruined her character far too much for this series and allowing Zeb to put himself in the comic to not only steal Spider-Man's soul mate away from him but continue to character assassinate Spider-Man was something any conpetatant company would never allow.

Coming up with a story centered around writing Paul out of ASM.
youre completely right Paul is simply not a character and he never was. everything about him was made from pure spite and hatred by the spidey office!
Just kill him off or make him a villain.
@@UnHallowed15 i read that, very cathartic
Guys something just hit me, I think marvel is doing to Spider-Man what they did to X-men. I think we have to suffer through this abit longer.
I feel like it could be this but instead of the inhumans it's other spider people like miles and Gwen. they know if Peter has good comics people won't gravitate towards the other characters its been proven
0:04 oh the sweet song of the webs and cutscenes from PS1 Spider-Man
Peter just hanging out with the love of his life and the prick that LITERALLY stole her away

Spider man needs to make a deal with Mephisto to make Paul and everything relating to him disappear forever
@@petrenicolae3282 Unless it infringes on MJ's condition on their last deal.
Cheers.
im so happy you enjoyed the video man ive been trying ti make them more 'professional' I guess you could say with the title cards sectioning the moments within the video! so I hope it came out okay
the entire Paul story feels like yet another forced inclusion from the spidey office, a move once again filled with complete spite and hatred towards us the fans. I honestly get whiplash going from issues in the classic decades like the 80s to this shit. no where near the same book it's so different in every aspect!
I have started the process for a video on spider-man unlimited, im thinking of doing the first story including the spot!
if you didn't get the chance to see my community post I said that the upcoming videos should hopefully look like this :)
spider-man unlimited
if this be my destiny
shadow of the green goblin
@@mnstash Great. Looking forward to the "SU" video. Cheers.

Zeb wells should stay away from ever making another spiderman comic ever again
couldn't agree more mate
Get Zeb Wells away from this franchise.
we're almost there🥲
I have read somewhere Paul is not going to go away.
MJ even calls him Baby in Venom war.
I really think he is permanent.😢
What the f**ck is problem with those writers 😠
Where did you hear that and in what venom war issue did MJ say that

Tombstone finally becomes the big man
I wouldve rathered zeb focus way more on tombstone throughout his run, sorta like DD and kingpin!
One good thing I like it when peter Handel's things out of the mask
For most of the Wells run what really kept me going was a belief that obviously the ending story of this run would be something related to the whole situation that would wrap everything up. So I think what's bothering me now is that since that isn't happening I just don't know when it's going to end. My hope is literally lost and it's like do we really have to wait for some indeterminate time until Nick Lowe quits? It's basically my worst fear as we have to live with broken MJ and make more and more issues where she's like this and it just sucks.
If you want a really good and recent spiderman run, I definitely recommend Spiderman: Shadow of the green goblin
JM Dematteis showed hes still got it within that comic! ive been meaning to make a video on it for a while tbh
I'm just sick of JRJR's artwork now. He constantly draws everyone with a really bad overbite and the faces are borderline identical. His Punisher and Wolverine faces are literally the the same so it feels so lazy. And don't get me started on his ABYSMAL work in Superman: Year One.
hes unfortunately dusted, like I said he had a good run and I do like alot of his older work but man hes really got to stop
4:19 but he’s not Joe Hendry 😂.
Ah, masterpiece comics as usual!😂
This book has become monthly torment of yours...Hahaha😂
i need therapy after all this
@@mnstash well all do. 😭
It’s a very sad common theme within modern spidey, he seems to be written well if the word amazing isn’t in the title for some reason!
Avengers endgame: Paul returns
and i..am....PAUL *c*cks peter again*
Just give up on Paul! No one will ever like him no matter what you do, Zeb Wells!!!
Yeah I also hate Paul, I need him to disappear
Zeb Wells should never be allowed near a pen or keyboard again.
I'm just saying it now if paul doesn't become marvel whipping boying after zebs gone I won't be satisfied
I'm only into the Ultimate Universe. Never again on this Zeb Wells garbage
Every time I see one a stash “asm” review I immediately grab the pennjamin
Don't really read ASM just watch these types of videos so I didn't even realize Spider-Man got a new girlfriend. So like, why even focus on Paul and MJ? I know practically it's drama and MJ is a long established character but like
Let Peter move on man, focus on Shay or something. I want to see Spidey in his new relationship, not Paul. I don't want to see my hero be mopey over the fact he got dumped the entire run.
The worst part is as well, MJ I believe has her own series as jackpot this should been in her comic but it was forced into this one
Plot twist: Zeb Wells is a cover name for Mephisto
Edit: Now I’m just imagining Mephisto writing the comic like fricken Bugs Bunny
Brb making a deal with Mephisto to erase Paul from every timeline and universe
Paul has to be mephesto or at least being influenced by him to screw with peter.
Man…i hate how i’ve completely switched up on jrjr art, i remember when that one vid 7 years ago hating on his art came out and now…i feel like i’m a hater because now i can’t stand it
unfortunately its just no where near the same quality as his older stuff, his daredevil covers are so bad as well, I hate that besides like two issues I tuck them away because I genuinely dont like looking at them
The next writer(s) after Zeb Wells has one *hell* of a mess to clean up, I'll tell you what...
Joe kelly is only gonna make things make worse sadly
Just make him a villain at this point. People already hate him so go all in at least readers can see Peter kick the shit out of him.
I don't mind the Paul thing but If their doing the Paul thing they better make it worth it like make it perm, get Peter a better girl or something cause if MJ is gonna stick to Paul and their kids at all cost make it stay hand give Peter better.
I professor Pyg can make Spiderman more perfect, more beautiful than everyone and everything in the world, I Pyg, am THE person who can do that ! HOOOOOO HOOOOOOO HOOOOOO
Wait Paul left ? I thought he never left
You know, just to be honest with everyone I kind of stopped reading amazing Spider-Man after the big reveal of what did Parker do which was spoiler alert absolutely!!!! the only way you’re gonna get me back into reading it again is if you kill off MJ
Oh I just did it for the title since he hadn’t appeared in ages :)
Oh God yeah it’s not worth reading these comics they’re so bad
Oh boy, do I have a surprise for you in the preview page for Spider-Man venom war issue MJ actually calls Paul baby like the goal unbelievable they are really trying to make us like him. I’m afraid after Wells. Kelly won’t get rid of him he might actually be a permanent mainstay
This might genuinely be the end of Mary Jane Watson...wtf did we do to deserve this man😭
