I just cleaned my stainless steel Thermos, which had been sitting coffee stained for months, using the baking soda, maybe a couple tablespoons, and short squirt of dish soap (Dawn, not that it matters I think) and cup of boiling hot water from my microwave. Key note, place the thermos in the sink as when I poured in the hot water a large amount of dirty foam came out of the thermos for about a minute. When the foam stopped, I scrubbed the inside using a long handle bottle brush. Emptied the thermos into the sink and rinsed many times. The results were amazing. The thermos looked like new inside. So simple and safe chemicals. Thank you.
I cleaned out my two thermoses with Oxyclean powder and boiling powder. I put one scoop of Oxiclean powder in each thermos, and poured boiling water into each. The water fomed up and I let it sit for about 30 minutes. Then I poured of the water, and scrubbed the inside of the thermos with a bottle brush, and the thermos were totally clean. Then I just cleaned the thermos with Dawn liquid and the thermos were totally clean. I then rinsed the thermoses a few times until all the Dawn was completely washed away.
