@@EverydayMan very true, however this is about facts not opinion. You measured both for temps and the Thermos was at 138,6 and the Stanley at 138, correct? well in that case, the Thermos won the test for keeping the liquid hot.
Did I miss anything? Clear winner = Stanley? Stanley was 138.2. Thermos was 138.6. Yes, maybe Stanley is more rugged but if we look on the main purpose, the Thermos is doing slightly better. In addition, larger vessels hold temperature better than smaller ones. So if the Stanley would be the same size as the Thermos, than the difference would be even higher (shown also in other tests). What many people also forget is the weight, the Stanley is by far the heaviest. For outdoor activities, this is quite an important factore. Don't get me wrong, I love the Stanley, the look, the feel and all of it, but it seems like you're a little bit biased from your family's history with Stanley ;)
Good video!! The Stanley is an ole school legend. I remember as a kid waking up at 4am to watch my dad go to work. He always had that 70s green color Stanley, a lot of guys he worked with had them. Good memories of that thermos.
7:39 I stopped right here, and unless there's something horribly wrong with the stanley, it will win due to physics. Cube Squared law. The surface area (area for thermal transfer) increases by the square while the volume of the container increases by the cube. This means the heat energy that needs to be dissipated goes up drastically while the area where it can dissipate to a cooler environment gets (relatively) smaller and smaller.
I have a couple Yeti bottles and they are the worst at keeping ice. The bigger Yeti does do better than the smaller one. Hydroflask does even better. But still nothing compared to an old Sigg vacuum bottle I have; 84 hours till all the ice melts.
You bought the best stanley and the worst and smaller thermal mass thermos and you proved Thermos is a superior product. I'm buying Thermos based on your results.
I’ve had Stanley thermoses for 55 years and they have been hands down the best for keeping coffee the hottest for the longest period of time especially when it’s cold weather and you’re outside. I have opened my Stanley three to four days after filling it with hot coffee and surprisingly it would still be hot. I was hoping that you would be testing on time of days instead of a few hours. Maybe next time? I’ve had the Stanley, Thermos, and Yeti. The Stanley NEVER disappoints however I have been very disappointed in the Yeti for keeping drinks hot especially their cups and tumblers. I still have several very old Stanley thermos bottles, at least 25 years old and they still keep drinks very hot and also cold if that’s what you want. I’m now going to buy the Stanley XL if I can find it to keep my coffee as hot as fresh brewed and just as fresh tasting. Thank you for confirming my own personal thoughts. I have many Yeti tumblers and I carry coffee with me everywhere I go. Unfortunately the coffee in the tumbler has become luke warm after about 2-4 hours but I do still drink it. Thank you again for the experiment but I do hope that you will do one where you test after about 24-48 hours. Thank you. I prefer the Stanley.
So Thermos and Stanley are neck to neck with Stanley a slight advantage. But Thermos is around 30 Dollar vs Stanley around 50 Dollars. So if we don't care about price tag, i can see that Stanley is the better choice. However if we consider the price thermos is the winner because paying 20 dollars more to have a slight better product is not really worth it in my opinion.
So I have the standley, what I do to keep my coffee stay hotter longer is I boil water and add the water to the thermos and let it sit in there for about 15 mins, it keeps the coffee hotter longer.
If you put four different size glasses of hot water on a table and come back in an hour the largest glass of water will be the hottest. All things being equal it's the same with vacuum bottles.
Thanks to your review I went ahead and bought the 1.1qt version of the Stanley. A lot bigger than I thought it would be, and you’re right, it feels VERY durable. Right now it’s only $2 more than the Thermos. Will see how well it does for me.
I'm surprised at the results myself. I have a Yeti Rambler and I thought it did a very good job. I was not expecting the Thermos and Stanley to do as well as they did. Stanley for the win!
I have 3 Stanley’s under the sink in my kitchen that are at least 30 years old. They still work perfectly. I’ve tried others that work for about 4-6 hours but all of my Stanley’s work and keep hot for days. They are older so they may be better than the newer ones but I’m sticking with the Stanley as it has always been the best quality that I’ve ever had.
i have not had a good thermos in 40 years,,used to be thermos brand kept coffe hot for 10 hours on the job in cold weather,,my last three all of different brand are a joke, absolutely useless
Thermos was 138.6 at the end... 138 on the Stanley. Thermos won. Not Stanley
In my videos, I get to speak my opinion. My opinion is that Stanley is a better option. But for a cheaper option the Thermos would be the way to go.
Oh my bad. I thought it was a test of which one kept the water hotter?
Misleading test result? Not good for Stanley i guess. Thermos is way to go.
@@EverydayMan very true, however this is about facts not opinion. You measured both for temps and the Thermos was at 138,6 and the Stanley at 138, correct? well in that case, the Thermos won the test for keeping the liquid hot.
And it did so with a smaller quality of hot liquid

If you are talking about keeping things hot in the cold weather, then test them in the cold weather. Fill hot, let them sit outside for a few hours.
Neither the Artic nor the Yeti used insulated stoppers or caps. Insulated caps may be found for the Yeti possibly.
Good video!!

138.6 is higher than 138.0, what are you talking about the Stanley is a clear winner?
They were close enough that the temps didn't matter. The quality of the Stanley is much better in my opion.

That works for sure.
Sounds like the same concept as pre-chilling a cooler. Smart man 👌🏼

My current thermos is a dud. I’ve bought a 1lt Stanley. Hopefully it’s better. Your test results say it’s good.

How was the Stanley the "clear winner"? The Thermos kept it hotter.
The temps were almost exactly the same. The Stanley is of better build quality. In my opion it's a better product.
On dem cold days on the construction site, there ain't nothing better than a steaming drink of hot piss.
Do they have a 1 qt Stanley? Or a 40 oz?
Ive used that green Stanley for years now. Picked it up from Wal-Mart and it was cheap. I love that thing. It can take a beating. Great review.
Thanks! Love the stanley myself
Bro I am so invested in your can-am, I hope you got out riding. Dealerships are the worst, more like dealershits am i right?
No doubt.
How long have you had the water on the bottles?
On the video at 9:22 timestamp he said its been 9 to 14:30 so about 5 and a half hours
why compare all different sizes? do you think it is equal?
I got as close as I could get to compare products
that XL Stanley will hold loads of coffee on your hunt'n trip!
those OLD Stanley were great! new...?
Theyve olny been making them for over 100 years
Stanley for drawing. I own the blue thermos
Nice - go Stanley - OG owns it! I'm personally a Yeti fan overall but happy for Stanley!
Stanley is for me the best of the brands
I'm surprised at the results myself. I have a Yeti Rambler and I thought it did a very good job. I was not expecting the Thermos and Stanley to do as well as they did. Stanley for the win!

Please do another video on the xmr. I’ll take any of the thermos bottles.
I need to do an update video on it.
@@EverydayMan I have the exact defender, just a 3 seater. Man I love it- what was wrong with your transmission?
