    **Make sure to Wash thoroughly after dishwasher soap used to get Residue/Scent. May need to fill and rinse with boiling water again.

    Worked perfectly! My stainless coffee thermos has never looked as good! Did all of our stainless travel mugs as well. Can't thank you enough!

    Did this on my stainless thermos and it worked perfectly. We use the cascade pods, I tossed one in, added the boiling water, went to sleep and in the morning all that nasty build up poured right out. Thanks for the awesome tip. 👍🍻

    Thank you soooooooo much! I had 3 gorgeous aluminum Tervis tumblers that had coffee stains. I filled them with descaling solution for HOURS and nothing happened. I tried this tip using dishwasher pods in two and dishwasher gel in the other. Same results! In seconds, I could see brown gunk float to the top. I went back 30 minutes later and the insides were like new! So fun!

    Did this with a pod ( my pods are powder though. Anyways) on a thermos I forgot with black tea in it for nearly a year. Luckily the inside was probably sanitized by the boiling water and stayed sealed so nothing disgusting but the stain was bad and I was still eager to get it the cleanest... It seems to have worked great so far, I'm gonna let it rest the afternoon and update but it should be looking good.

    Although this wasn't the first video I watched, I'll leave my comments here... ' cause Jonny is OK.
    My 20oz. stainless Contigo mug was absolutely black from 2 years of coffee and tea... with a surface that looked/felt more like asphalt than smooth stainless.
    2 hours of soaking with a Finish "Deep Clean" pod & boiling water - a minute or so of brushing with a bit of liquid dish detergent... like brand new!
    The number of chunks (sheets?) of gunk that came out were either amazing or disgusting, depending on your perspective. Can't wait for my morning coffee!
    Addendum: Morning coffee - stronger & much more flavorful!

      Awesome glad I could help get it clean. Make sure to rinse a bunch until it doesnt smell too much. It took me a while to wash the scent out of mine

    Any idea for nonstick fry pan how to clean it

    • @JonnyDIY
      @JonnyDIY  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're welcome, glad to help. You could try soaking in white vinegar or scrubbing with a baking soda paste. The problem with non stick pans is when they become difficult to clean usually means the nonstick coating is wearing out or damaged

    Hi there may i know if vinegar will destroy the coating of the thermal cup?

    • @JonnyDIY
      @JonnyDIY  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's possible, but I would think it would take a long time for that to happen. Most of the time the cups are just stainless steel inside too.

    This ruined my thermos.
    I used a dishwasher detergent pod and boiling water on a stainless thermos. I’ve rinsed with boiling water, baking soda and vinegar, filled it with coffee several times and every time it still smells and tastes soapy.

    • @JonnyDIY
      @JonnyDIY  ปีที่แล้ว

      I had this issue before after cleaning. Put 1/4 to 1 cup vinegar in thermos depending on how big. Then fill with boiling water and seal lid. Leave it like that until cool hours later. Then repeat. Should go away in about 3 times. Can also try lemon juice as well

    Stupid question, but would you need to break open a pod or just pop it in?

    • @JonnyDIY
      @JonnyDIY  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The boiling water will melt it so you don't have to break open, but you could cut open and it'll probably dissolve faster 👍

    Instead of dishwash powder. Can we use clothes detergent?

    • @JonnyDIY
      @JonnyDIY  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Have never tried that, but I imagine it may work. It's just the dishwasher detergent doesn't foam up as much

    • @JonnyDIY
      @JonnyDIY  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm thinking white vinegar would work well too. Soak til it all comes off. May take more than a day
