Well, it's best you get a professional's advice in person, but it's safe to say that you can do the class while being very careful that you don't cause any discomfort at all throughout the class.
Ultimate shoulder workout is right. I just discovered Davids videos and have been practicing on my days when i dont do ashtanga. This got so deep into my shoulders and neck it was amazing. I especially liked the series of neck stretches using my hands to pull on my head for traction. I feel so great afterwards!
Since I feel good during and after the sequence, it should be safe. I did avoid doing the postures where head was on the ground for now. Thanks so much for such a nice elaborate neck and shoulder sequence. Greatful!
I have a chronic neck pain and a doc said my neck bones are deformed to lose the S curve due to my bad posture. But as I am practicing this sequence, it is safe and feels really better. I tried Michael Riel's neck and shoulder discomfort release series first but it was not good enough. There were some positions that put me in a risk of exacerbating the tension or pressure in the neck if I do it wrong. But this one is really mild and slow, relaxing. I strongly recommend this!

You can sit on a block, folded blanket or towel, a yoga bolster if you have one, and if it still uncomfortable, sit on a stool.
