I really appreciate that you let us take part in fine dining experiences because you are obviously not dependent on TH-cam and could do the same thing without a camera ❤. It is also for most of us unimaginable spending this amount of money so thank you very much that we are part of the experience.

Prime example that a restaurant's size and ambiance is somewhat seperate from the food, and that if one aspect is done well enough, it makes up for the crammed space. They took the space they had and made something great from it.

@@Brooklyn_Hit I completley agree, you should come for the food. A lack of space, the ambiance ect. is important but the food being good makes up for a lack in the actual restauralt. However the restaurant can be incredible with expensive tables, big seating area ect. but of the food isn't up to expectations that can't be compensated for.
Just my observation too many people in the kitchen just wouldn't allow me to enjoy the food as much unless I was eating a slice of pizza standing against the wall with a beer🎉
@@DumpeNordlie ... Noma at the Boiling Point or Boiling Point, My Perfect Storm Noma, Michelin Madness, For Grace, A Matter Of Taste. The Question is Are We Not Learning From The Mistakes Of The Past??? I love Alexander's Work But is It Telling The Whole Story and Should we Think That 3M Stars Is What Makes THE BEST RESTAURANTS AND CHEFS...
Was there in April. Wish I was there every day. Beautiful people, great service and amazing food...Chef James served us spotless dishes, despite his team (Arsenal) having a really tough night at the same time (he had his phone on the desk, watching, and cooking at the same time). I loved every second of it!
As a chef with a fine dining background, I really like your videos as they are honest and appreciative of all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes and the attention to detail in all respects, from produce sourcing to preparation, to cooking to presentation. Your love of wines and your appreciation for the craft of both brought me to subscribe some time ago. I eagerly await your videos as I love to see such an honest appreciator give his honest opinion. Keep up the great work as it is rewarding to see someone focus on fine dining not as an expensive experience but as a rewarding one. One that takes a person on an exploration of tastes and textures that tells the story of not only the chef but of the restaurant in question. I genuinely hope you reach 500K subs as you and your team deserve it! Keep it coming, we will be here to watch and appreciate. Cheers.
Nice to see a genuine person providing a genuine perspective n review having a very good knowledge on gastronomy. Just outstanding and has it’s own unique class Keep up the good work
This has got to be the best food you have ever reviewed on this channel. And I watch you religiously. The way they infuse all their sauces, the toasting, the burnt garlic, every little attention to detail. Like you said, all those little hiccups are more than forgiven when the food is THIS stunning. I've never seen you at a loss for words when describing a dish--the dessert! Bravo, Kitchen Table.
Thank You 🙏 and Your Team for these wonderful videos. We know the work that goes into making them. We appreciate and look forward to watching them. Much blessings to You, Your Family, Your Team and Everyone ❤
Kitchen table was one of the first "high-end" restaurants I visited in London, when it was priced a LOT more modestly than it is now (the menu back in 2017 was about half the price of what's on offer today). I loved it. I still remember the dishes, I still remember the vibe and the chef. I've not watched the full video yet, but I am so happy this is in the channel.. One of their starters back then, crispy chicken skin with a bacon jam, is still one of the best things I've ever eaten.
I love watching your videos?, ive been in the profession for over 30 years now and never had the desire to go down the michelin route because of the dedication needed. Its lively to see your travels though and im in rosettes but seeing some of the courses gives me inspiration and like wow ideas as to what i can do in my place, not really to copy but to go "great idea, i never thought of something like that" keep up the good work.
I've eaten here twice over the years and really enjoyed it both times. And we did a "cook from home" meal from his restaurant during COVID as well that was a lot of fun. I'm pretty sure I see chef Knappett foraging for mushrooms in Hampstead Heath from time to time as well.
I ate here a couple of years ago and loved the experience. It still ranks as one of my best UK meals. I love that they are able to push it all the way and not fall off the edge. Great video (as always)
It’s nice sometimes to eat in this kind of set up. Different. Casual. I like it. Also to have that great view of seeing them cook and prepare it all. A nice “performance”.
Great review, went back in Jan with the missus. - few dishes in vid are same as our experience i.e. the amuse, pasta and duck. I would recommend those not looking to drink alcohol to consider the non-alcoholic pairing, was very interesting and fun. There was also a truffle supplement which was added to the pasta and an additional dessert using said truffle. The decor behind the seats also shows off some of chefs character.
Went before the renovation but it looks even better now! Really liked how they didn't feel the need to be overly complex for the sake of it and it seems they've kept that methodology. Good ingredients cooked perfectly without the need to show off how clever they are. The bread course is still one of my favourites anywhere. Should go back one day...
Had the chance to eat at Kitchen Table twice in last 2 years. It's also my fav table in London. Both times I couldn't stop myself making a sort of purring sound after tasting most dishes. Fine dining heaven
my favorite video and restaurant so far!!! the food looks so good and glad so well to hear you describe how each dish taste. not sure, but notice that the lighting at this place and how the food looked good because of it...gotta go visit to see and experience why this place looks so good!!!
may you leave a google maps links of the restaurant...please and thank you...just wanna make sure going to the right place...cheers Alexander and the team!!
Excellent! After travelling to Zen, visiting Enoteca Pinchiori following your videos, I am adding this one to my list. You are making me poorer but enrich my experiences ;)
Great review! Always wanted to visit here but only made it to the champagne bar that used to be on the ground floor years ago! Definitely added to the list of places to go to!
I would say that a €60 up-charge for N25 caviar is reasonable. I’ve sampled their product a few times and the quality is really top notch. Also, great find with that Benoit Moreau, it really is a delicious little hidden gem of a wine that I don’t see on lists too often here in America, but I like to buy whenever it appears on the allocation lists of my local shops🤩
I wanted to try more if these dishes than anywhere else you've been. The dishes are so well explained and make such sense that you can almost imagine tasting them. Most of the time I'm baffled, but this time I could imagine eating that lobster tail, sweet sauce and blend of textures.
He is very clear and easy to understand throughout. Maybe you need to get your ears tested? A lot of people have hearing loss and don't know realize it.
I think the small errors that Alex pointed out could be what are holding them back from 3 stars. It's an interesting comparison for him to say it's his favourite kitchen in London since he's been to Helene darroze and their wine cellar as well. I can see great innovation in their execution of dishes. I think it goes to show that just because a place has 3 stars it doesn't necessarily mean it's someone's favourite or the best in their opinion. It definitely hints at the subjectivity of taste and then so from Michelin. Like take for example la liste or world's best 50 etc
Yeah could be true. According to Michelin they only assess purely based on the food quality, but obviously this isn't true because look at the restaurants that get 3 stars; they're almost always super posh inside.
Hello, I really enjoy your channel! Thank you for continually sharing excellent restaurants. Just a small reminder - looks like missed blurring the guest at 07:23
Glad to see they warmed the place up. Dinner was great but it was a bit awkward when we were there. Chef kept slapping the hands of one chef. One of the reasons I don’t really care for kitchen tables anymore.
When you said “the duck…is back again” it made me realize that you should have a cheeky sidekick who’s a cartoon duck mat’re de - at least for the intros!
Alexander, I have been fortunate enough to drink some of your wine recommendations but they do not stand up to Australian wines. Particularly the reds. We have the best in the world. 🍷
Another great video!! I can't be the only subscriber that likes sneakers. Can someone please tell me what Nike SB is being worn when he shows his napkin being dropped? 😁
Im certain im too far across the world to enter, but been a subscriber a long time! Would love to experience the places you show me!! It would be a dream. For now I can only try to cook them lol
I think the service nitpicks are more relevant if this was a 3 starred restaurant. At 2 stars, I would anticipate the food to be flawless with a more casual style to the service itself. I'd prefer more bread than water, especially if you have those bottles of wines with you.
Couple of suggestions. a) Turn down the music in the video just a bit. Overpowering B) A lot of these restaurants you visit you don't get the wine pairing. It's a big part of the experience. Would love to see you drink the wining pairings more often then bring your own or select your own.
Love this channel! I wish Alexander would experiment more with his wine selection. It's a shame to see someone with such a palette and opportunity to always settle for the predictable french classics.
